My troops have succeeded in suppressing the members of the shadow organization. That was because the three undead wyverns, one ridden by Emily, helped the fight by continuously firing cold air at the enemies.
These people are nothing to us.
Meanwhile, the succubus had already flown with Xenora and me. Each of them had carried a bomb.
"First batch ready!" Xenora gave a signal while raising a hand. "Go!!!"
Some of the women dropped the spherical objects. Explosions popped up as they hit buildings and the ground.
"Second batch ready!!!" Xenora gave another signal as we turned around.
"Wait!!!" I stopped her when I found a bunch of humans running around. "Wait a minute."
I wouldn't care if they were ordinary members of the shadow organization. But they are still little kids. Perhaps the biggest ones are no more than ten years old. I even saw one toddler who still had to be carried.
"Xenora, continue to bomb other places, but avoid this. After that, help those in front." I hissed. "I want to talk to these kids."
Before Xenora could answer, I dived and landed in front of that group of kids. They flinched in horror. Some were even on the verge of tears.
"Oh, is this the infamous lord Vorn?" The leader of those children, an old man with a thick white beard, drew his sword from the waist. "I can't say we're happy to meet you."
I looked at those children who were dressed all in black. Some of them were in bad condition with bruises on their faces.
"Even as a demon, I wouldn't dare to hurt children, sir." I smiled. "Aren't they the future of this country? Why are you and the people of this place torturing them?"
"You'll never understand, demon." The old man's tone turned cold. "They are sacrifices for this great kingdom. Yes, their lives will suffer forever, from training to carrying out missions. However, they do things that ensure the safety and welfare of thousands of people in this country..."
"Your words make me sick, old man." I scratched my ear hole with my little finger. "The point is, they're being made as loyal state dogs, right?"
I moved to that old man at high speed, intending to grab his head until it shattered. However, he managed to hold my arms instead.
In order to hide my surprise, I chuckled. "Oh, you are so strong, old man."
We grimaced, had a strength battle, and couldn't beat each other. Realizing our power was balanced, I kicked his stomach and jumped back as far as possible.
Instead of being thrown off, the old man remained standing, though his body was pushed back, creating two long footprints.
"Are you even human?" I smirked.
I should be the strongest being in this world, but there is someone who can match me. Yes, I'm starting to get scared, but it's not too bad.
Challenges always get my adrenaline going.
"Run, my children! Hide somewhere safe." The old man shouted. Seeing those little humans freeze in fear, he raised his voice. "I said run!!!"
As soon as the kids ran, I gave a mass announcement via the remote communication feature to my subordinates, but in a very low voice so my opponent wouldn't hear me.
I asked my subordinates not to kill those children. They can be used in my other plans.
"To answer your question earlier... Am I human?" The old man hissed and threw his sword away. "Well, you can see for yourself. What do you think?"
He screamed hard. Large purple bumps appeared on his hands and face.
I flew forward to attack the man, and suddenly he spat.
Feeling that something was wrong, I tried to avoid it. However, my timing was late. The spit hit my right wing, giving off a scorching heat and making me land hard on the ground.
Despite feeling excruciating pain in my slightly smoky wings, I still moved to dodge my opponent's other spit attack. I didn't use my wings this time but just jumped in various directions using my legs.
"I've heard of experiments to turn humans into demons, but I heard they were discontinued decades ago." I dodged the umpteenth spit attack from the old man. "Are you one of the remaining ones? Are you someone who actually managed to become a demon? Hey, how about you come with me?"
Instead of answering, the old man just kept spitting. If his attacks were normal, I wouldn't have continued to dodge at a rapid pace like this. His spit shot was like a bullet out of a gun, straight and fast.
However, that doesn't mean I'm overwhelmed. I keep watching him. It was possible that he still had something to hide.
And suddenly he jumped at me. I raised my hand and parried his kick to the head.
It's weird. Why didn't he continue his poison attack again?
Is he feel it was pointless since I could keep dodging? Or has his poison spit run out?
Either way, I have to fight him.
We kept exchanging punches and kicks. Our strength is equal, but I'm a little faster than him. Some of my strikes can hit him, while I can always block or dodge his attacks.
Gradually my enemy was overwhelmed. I gave the umpteenth punch to his face, making him stumble backward.
No. This doesn't seem right. This is too easy.
And then, the lumps on the old man's hands and face exploded, splashing a purplish liquid. I screamed in pain as the fluids hit my body and face.
My clothes were immediately torn, and my skin blistered, giving off an insane burning and stinging pain.
The pain distracted me, so I realized too late that he had jumped at me. He gave a twisting kick that had a tremendous impact on my chest, even causing me to roll backward.
"Shit!" I tried to get up quickly despite the torment I was going through. However, this enemy of mine is already running toward me.
Next, I felt that his knee had landed hard on my face.
