"My name is Kaine, oh beautiful Emily." That vampire, who looked to be in his thirties, blocked the supreme undead attack. "We are more or less the same age. I heard that originally you were the keeper in that infamous undead cave."
Emily didn't answer and kept moving her sword.
Several undeads emerged from the ground and were about to grab onto Kaine's legs, but the vampire could jump backward to dodge.
"For hundreds of years, you were cooped up in that cave and didn't know what was going on, right?" Kaine kept talking, and Emily just kept giving combinations of attacks. "A lot of things are…. Hey, can you hear me for just a second?"
The supreme undead still didn't care and kept on striking Kaine. The vampire chuckled and turned around, then jumped so high onto the roof of the building.
Emily moved some undeads to lift her body and throw it up. Before even landing on the building's roof, she saw one of Kaine's swords dart toward her.
The supreme undead was able to block that thing, but she felt a tremendous tremor in her hand. The collision was quite hard.
And then, another sword flew at Emily, who finally landed. She tried to dodge, but her movement was too late.
Fortunately, that weapon only hit the armor. "Shit!"
Next, the two swords took turns flying to attack Emily. Gradually she realized those things didn't fly by themselves but had strings attached to their hilts. It was Kaine who controlled the two weapons with his hands.
"Even though I'm a vampire, I care about my comrades." While Emily continued to block and dodge, Kaine kept moving his swords from a distance. "I don't want them to get hurt from my attacks. Can't you see the charm in what I'm doing?"
Emily's mouth was still tightly closed, making Kaine shake his head. "It seems your heart is completely frozen."
Kaine's swords flew up and released red flower petals. And suddenly, Kaine was holding a rose and sniffing it.
"Look at this beauty, O dear Emily. Do you….. Hey!!!"
Of course, Emily didn't care and swung her sword again, splitting that flower. She wouldn't waste any chance while Kaine's swords were not attacking her.
The vampire jumped backward for the umpteenth time and sighed. "Trust me. In the end, you will understand how I feel."
"I told you." Emily is still trying to attack her enemy. "My heart and my pussy are loyal to lord Vorn."
"Finally, you spoke." Kaine caught Emily's sword using both of his swords. "Trust me, he's not the real Vorn. He's too soft for a demon lord."
It took some effort for Emily to pull out her weapon. "Eh, I don't care if he's fake or real. My life is good with him… I'm not really alive, though."
"You don't understand."
Emily continued to block all attacks from Kaine, and she began to be able to push her opponent. However, that does not mean the vampire gave up. He kept trying to survive.
And Emily knows that this will not be over soon. In normal times, she would enjoy a long fight. But she was too bored and tired from days of eradicating the rebels.
So, the supreme undead had prepared the ultimate move.
Emily groaned when one of her opponent's swords almost hit her head. Then, the successive attacks forced her to dodge by continuing to retreat.
Kaine laughed. "What happened to you!? Why are you…."
The vampire's words stopped because many shadows suddenly enveloped him. Looking up, he saw dozens of undead jumping at him. They came by climbing from every side of the building.
Seeing her enemy off guard, Emily caught and pulled the threads connecting Kaine's hands with the swords. The vampire could not do anything and fell down.
Earlier, Emily was not overwhelmed. She stepped back because she didn't want to be trapped by what was about to happen.
"Arggghhhh!!!" Kaine's voice was muffled by the myriad of undead piling up on him.
***
Emily yawned before the vampires and dark magic users gathered in front of the building. They all knelt down with their hands and feet bound.
"No deaths from our side. However, a few humans received serious bite wounds." A male shapeshifter explained.
Emily stretched, looking unconcerned. "They won't die and will only become vampires. Don't worry. They will still be accepted by Lord Vorn. They will also become stronger, even though they can only do activities at night."
The few unharmed humans shuddered and exchanged glances.
The shapeshifter continued. "Meanwhile, on the demon side, some are affected by paralysis magic, but it will heal with time."
"Really, huh? All of you don't want to kill us?" The supreme undead clapped her hands. "You guys are very kind."
A mare approached the captives. "They want to do something for us, some kind of research. I've read the minds of some of them. So, they want…."
"I'll listen to your explanation later. I have a feeling that it's going to take a long time." Emily approached a female vampire whose face was almost identical to Kaine's but more feminine and with much longer silver hair.
"She's Kayla. Kaine's twin sister." The mare followed the supreme undead. "I can't dig too much out of her. She is blocking some areas of her mind."
"Like the members of the shadow organization train their minds?" Emily returned the sharp gaze of that woman with a smile.
The mare shook his head. "No, this is different. I'm guessing it's a mind-blocking technique using magic."
"Well, if it's magic, maybe we can ask the experts in our base." Emily brought her face closer to that woman. "I have some questions about her. First, is she pure blood, mixed, or is she just an ordinary human who gets bitten? If it's just information like that, you managed to get it, right?"
"She is a pureblood, miss. She's a descendant of the original vampires."
"Then, is she still a virgin?" Emily pulled her face away from Kayla.
The question made Kayla frown.
Meanwhile, the mare chuckled. "She's not a virgin. She did it with her own cousin."
"Eew." Emily cringed. "I don't understand why vampires enjoy having intercourse with their blood relatives."
"We have no choice." Kaine, who had fainted, finally opened his eyes. He was lying not far from his sister. "We are few in number, so we have to resort to incest to preserve our bloodline. That's why I want to be with you, gorgeous. I don't want to be paired with my cousins, aunts, nephews, or, worst of all, my own sister. I don't care about protecting my bloodline."
Emily stared at the man for a moment. "I'm undead. My womb is basically dead. I can't give you offspring. Even if I could, I would never do it."
"Damn." Kaine chuckled. "This rejection hurts so much."
"But your sister is different." Emily then squatted down and spoke to Kayla. "Unfortunately, Lord Vorn doesn't like the non-virgin, so you will never be with him."
A sinister laugh escaped from the female vampire's mouth. "Even if I were a virgin, I would refuse that false demon lord."
"But, we will make a baby grow in your body." Emily yawned. Again.
Slowly, Kayla's chin dropped. "W-what do you mean?"
"Alright, guys. Let's wrap it up." The supreme undead stood up instead of answering the female vampire's question. "We'll do a rotation to look after them and get some rest. We're leaving tomorrow. I'll contact Lord Vorn, then sleep."
"Answer me, bitch!! What do you mean by that!?" Kayla screamed again, but Emily walked away.
While the female vampire continued to grumble, Kaine felt a vibration from the thin bracelet on his left hand. It was the signal from someone far away.
And it's happened several times over the past few days.
