"Attack!!!" Xenora screamed, and the other demons rushed at Hiana.
Emily blocked Hiana's fist with her sword, and the supreme undead was sent flying. The demon woman was about to continue her attack, but the others had already surrounded her.
But Hiana knocked them down one by one with great speed. Even though there were several sword slashes or blunt force blows against her, she was unaffected.
"Shit!" Hiana cursed, then flew up. "You guys are really annoying!"
Succubi came at her from all directions, attacking her with various techniques.
And, of course, Xenora did a combination kick to the demon woman's body and head.
"Are you feeling overwhelmed?" Xenora muttered as Hiana couldn't fight back. "It turns out your strength is only this much, huh?"
Instead of being angry, the demon woman grinned. And suddenly, all the demons—both in the air and the ground—was pushed by an invisible force that sent them flying.
For the umpteenth time, the demon woman laughed. "This is just a warm-up."
Xenora, who had also just landed hard on the ground, hurriedly got up.
Before Xenora could even give the order, Hiana flew low to the demons at a speed the eye couldn't follow.
And by the time the demon woman was back in her spot, she was already holding five demon heads. Two succubi, one shapeshifter, one minotaur, and one mare.
The faces on the heads showed no fear or pain. They looked like they didn't know what was going on.
And then, soft thumps appeared. The corpses of those Hiana killed just fell down, leaving their friends confused.
"Now….." Hiana threw the heads away. "Now it's your turn to attack."
Xenora bit her lip. How to fight this terrible creature? If she didn't play around, Hiana could have destroyed these demons in no time.
"Nobody wants to attack me? Really? Even though I've given you all the chances?" Hiana yawned. "Then, I'll do it again. Get ready…."
Hiana's words were cut off by successive explosions in the distance. In just a second, bloody holes appeared on several parts of her body.
"Huh?" The demon woman checked the five index finger-sized holes on her waist. Then, she continued in the direction where the sounds of explosions had emerged.
Two human-like figures were aiming at her using black metal rods with smoking tips. In Vorn's world, those things were called rifles.
Hiana suddenly lost her balance. Her flight becomes shaky.
Emily jumped to her. The demon woman shifted away. And she widened her eyes when her right arm was gone.
The undead supreme had just slashed through that part.
"This is the time!!!" Xenora called out while flying to the demon woman. "Her strength has decreased drastically!!!"
Vorn and Nate develop bullets with the same function as the liquid that suppresses demonic powers, though still in the first prototypes. Even the rifles used to fire them were assembled today.
But Xenora asked the users of those things to stand by at a time like this.
It does look successful. But no one knew about the potential of those bullets. How much power did Hiana lose? How long will she be in this debuffed state?
"Tsk!" Hiana could feel her power decreasing but couldn't estimate to what extent.
So, the demon woman chose to fly away from the demon's attacks. Occasionally she uses her pushing force.
However, the demons only lost their balance or staggered in the air, not falling.
Vorn's troops are getting fiercer. Hiana was increasingly overwhelmed, avoiding the slashes from the demons that jumped at her, the fire of various elemental magic balls, and the succubi's attacks.
"Shit!" Hiana felt a torturous sensation. A sensation that a great demon lord like her should never feel. "What the fuck!?"
It was the fear of possibly losing her own life.
The demon woman tried to fly higher to avoid Vorn's troops. But Xenora blocked her. The succubus raised her right leg high.
Hiana couldn't even do anything when Xenora's heel hit her head hard. In that instant, the demon woman's body dived violently.
But Hiana changed her body's direction before landing among the demons that were ready to mince her. She darted to Olivia, who was still tied to the pillars. The demon woman circled the blonde girl once to hit the chains until they broke.
"Kyaaaaa!!!" Olivia screamed hard when the demon woman took her flying.
And the wyvern troops had already come to Hiana. She forced herself to fly at a higher speed, away from the succubi and the wyverns that blasted her with fireballs or cold breaths.
"Don't let her run away!!!" Xenora, leading the chase, shouted at the top of her lungs. "Her body is already very weak!!! This is our chance!!!"
"Damn, she's so fast!" Emily, using her undead wyvern to accompany Xenora, responded. "Only Lord Vorn's flying bike can overtake her!!!"
Hiana was indeed getting further away, and none of Vorn's troops could catch up with her.
And finally, the demon woman managed to increase her speed many times, making her disappear from sight.
"Stop!" Xenora gave a signal. "There's no use chasing her anymore!"
The succubus and wyvern riders suddenly stopped in midair. They all looked frustrated but didn't protest. Their chance to catch up is really gone.
"Damn it." Emily clenched her fists. "And we were so close to catching her."
"At least we know we have a chance to beat her. She looked really freaked out just now." Xenora sighed. "We'd better go back…."
Xenora narrowed her eyes as she noticed the troops staring at her intently. They have big questions but don't dare to say them.
"I understand your worries. I'll explain about Lord Vorn's situation later." Xenora muttered. "But give me some time to talk to the other higher-ups first."
Those demons just bowed, and Xenora flew back to base.
"Take it easy, folks," Emily added, trailing after Xenora. "This doesn't mean our situation is hopeless. It's fucked up, but not too desperate."
Xenora whispered. "Shut up, Em. You're no help at all."
The supreme undead just shrugged her shoulders.
