Chapter 70: Rewards!
(AN: check author thought for important update about new chapters!)
Rust suddenly woke up with a jolt! His hazy mind still trying to sort out the craziness from the past day and half. He had forged like crazy for days, then participated and successfully defended a near impossible beast attack, and finally to top it all off, he performed a "forgery surgery" and had successfully broken through.
Speaking of breaking through, this was Rust's first time feeling the magic of the light within him. He could feel a new energy slowly moving around within his body that had not been there before.
He could feel it move from his brain, down his shoulders, arm, and then hands. It traveled back up his arm and into his heart first and then slowly moved down to right above his belly button. It then traveled down his legs, all the way to his feet before returning upwards in reverse order.
Every couple of minutes or so, the energy would make 1 complete "cycle" and return to his brain.
Rust took a deep breath and noticed that the air seemed to be different than usual. As he breathed in once more, he felt like his entire being was being energized. For Rust, the feeling was similar to when he would get his second wind during a hard or particularly long forging process. Simply put, it felt amazing!
Rust slowly got used to the new feeling, and pulled up all the system notifications he had not checked until this point.
[You have successfully defended your home from the beast wave! In recognition of your efforts, your clan shall be blessed with a child that has at least 3 stars of talent. If you want, you can generally choose the talent direction! Say "reward" to pull up the reward interface!] Discover, Devour, Delight: N♡vεlB¡n.
Rust eagerly responded,"Yes!"
[Catagories: Warrior, Hunter, Scout, Food Gatherer, Laborer..]
Rust was shocked as he looked at all the different categories that were listed. He was extremely surprised when he realized that there were over 200 categories! As he looked through them, he noted down the ones that could be useful and slowly narrowed it down to a handful.
His final choices were - Martial Artist, Blacksmith, Magician, Spear Saint, Merchant
He pondered over which to choose. He spoke aloud as he mulled it over. "Let's see, martial artist could be good as a way to develop combat skills. Blacksmith is a close one, but I already have my current Protégé from God's mission and he will likely succeed me in under a decade.. Then there's the magician.. while I don't completely understand this one, having additional power that is basically endless is a huge plus. Though it does consume large quantities of materials for alot of different things it seems.. maybe not the best choice. Spear Saint is a good choice for expanding the power of our forces, while the merchant would help with the newly arrived Centaurs. It's possible we find their species, then we can have someone properly represent us..
After about 10 minutes of thinking over the decision, Rust decisively chose [Martial Artist]. While Spear Saint and Merchant were close seconds, having a martial artist that can teach offensive and defensive would be a massive gain for the whole clan!
Then Rust looked at some of the other messages and stopped on the pair that showed he had broken through, but couldn't use any of his newfound power. Rust found this message very odd as he could innately tell he had grown about 2 to 3 times stronger than before! To say that he wasn't able to use all of this power and it was already this good greatly surprised him.
Rust pulled up the list of the 4 main power systems, after asking the system about the message.
[Power systems: Elementia, Mana, Qi, Soul]
After looking over the general information, Rust once again came to a decision, before remembering that Achilles had clearly used a similar fire power when attacking the beasts. Rust had felt the power during the fight, but had not understood what he was feeling at the time. Now he understood, and his mind rushed to answer with,"I can just ask him! My power will increase once more! AH! The gods truly are wondrous! They answer prayers that haven't even been made yet!"
Rust was jubilant and ran out of the door to find Achilles.
