Hector had something most, if not all gladiators lacked in their lives, and that was a father.
Unlike other gladiators that were born straight out of the union of a Demon and a human, he was born out of the union of a Half-born and another Half-born.
Of course, this was an experiment.
It was an experiment to see whether certain desirable characteristics could be passed from parents to child.
These characters were, as one would expect, certain powers.
Hector's mother had an ability that allowed her screams to be like sonic booms from her mouth.
This was an ability that was so intense that it could outrightly destroy the muscles of her opponents.
There was once a time she used it were every gladiator in the arena died instantly.
Ears shattered like glass and blood spilling out of all their orifices.
For some, the intensity was so much that it directly cracked the skulls of their heads, and for even weaker ones, it could burst their hearts.
It was one of the rarest abilities within the arena.
However, it had a defect, and that was the fact that it always had lasting effects on her throat whenever she used it.
Some times, speech would be impossible for weeks on end.
After too much use, it was discovered that she only had a few more tries before she would never use it again.
While Hector's father, had an ability known as the Berserker.
Just as the name sounded, it was a very chaotic ability.
? ? ? ? ? ?
Hector's father was not the biggest gladiator by body mass. Infact, he could be considered very average. However, once his ability had been activated, it was like he became another person.
His size would instantly triple, pulling on innate strength that was normally restricted by the limiter in the human brain.
Strength that was so ridiculous that it bordered on breaking his own bones was unleashed.
When his father was just in the C class, he could give a punch that could break an A class Gladiator's skull with ease.
However, as earlier stated, it could crush his bones.
And so the Magistri thought it a good idea to mate them together.
Of course at the time, both of them hated each other.
To make matters worse, his mother was a step from going completely dumb when they met, and his father, on the brink of losing motor functions in his body.
However, the birth of a child who was Hector, was the bridge that truly brought them together.
However, as it did, it also rose a different desire in their hearts.
This was a desire that was most common amongst gladiators that had gotten a certain level of power or a certain level of opportunity, and that was the hope for freedom.
What had happened was simple.I think you should take a look at
Hector's father had fallen in love with his mother so great that he now had hopes for a bigger better future for his family.
Infact, he planned for an escape.
However, he could not be blamed for this.
The Magistri had seen the experiment as a success with the birth of Hector, and with Cuban's permission, he was of the idea that Hector's mother could be breed with even more gladiators to give birth to more offsprings with good abilities.
This was devastating news to any man that had found happiness in the smile of one he could call his life partner.
Breeders were not treated well within the Arena.
Their jobs were to get pregnant and give birth, and even while they were still breastfeeding their babies, there was already a Half-born or a demon penetrating them for another child.
Their fates was never a good one.
They were to breed and give birth for the rest of their lives, and when they were done and all used up, they were used by demons to relieve sexual urges or disposed of as meat for the markets of the demon towns.
The knowledge that this was the fate his lover was going to face, scared Hector's father into action, and he planned out a method to escape.
A method that was just too full of holes.
Naturally, he had sort help from the order of Gladiators, and his end was True.
After all, the Magistri was the person in charge of the order of Gladiators.
Hector's father met a most gruesome end.
However, even before he was taken to the crucifix that would end his life, he left his son with words that Hector would never forget.
"Listen son, it is an abomination for another man to touch your woman. It is the sole responsibility of a man to defend his own. Even in death, I REGRET nothing!"
His father had died a man so full of pride that even when those big nails were hammered into his body and he was suspended in the air, and his blood leaking to the ground, he had still maintained eye contact with his son, and a Broad smile on his face.
Such level of pride was etched into his father's bones, so much so that he even stared at Lady Death with a Manly Defining smile.
When his mother had heard of his father's death, she smiled to her son and stroked his immature cheek, giving him her last words before she died.
"It will only be deserving of the Hell if I let another man touch I, the PRIDE of a Great Man."
After saying this, she had kisses him on the forehead before reaching her hand for her own throat and ripping it off.
Such inhuman suicide left even the Magistri feeling bitter respect for the Prideful couple.
This was a pride that their son, without a doubt inherited.
He had vowed by the death of both parents that died before his eyes that he would choose death as the easier win than allow another on his woman.
Hector met Athena under the most bizarre of circumstances. However, she was his woman, a representation of HIS PRIDE.
