Meanwhile, Lenny entered Scarface's home.
Surprisingly, the interior was nothing like the exterior.
It was well organized. Even though most of it was clammed up with books on nearly everything, it was still in good shape and well arranged on book shelves.
There was a Television in one corner, obviously not used since the apocalypse.
The room was not so bright, but it was neat.
At least most of it, except for the obvious signs of struggle on the ground and the blood-written message.
"Loan Sharks," Scarface responded, "I took a loan of a hound's liver. We may be immortal, but the hunger is still there. Sometimes, it gets so unbearable. I... I had no choice. My daughter was starving. We had to pay back with beast meat or give two months worth of healed Liver."
Lenny raised a brow at this.
It was a real funny thing to think that such a trade made it to the post-apocalypse.
However, considering how the current world, especially this place, was barely trying to hold on to a slight semblance of Order, it was the perfect opportunity for such a trade to flourish seamlessly.
"Let me guess, that's why you went hunting for mutated beast meat?"
Scarface nodded. "I have been going out of town to hunt every day for over a month now. But I couldn't find anything I could hunt out there, and no one dares try to hunt Ciri's pets. You'll end up being their dinner.
"Oh! Fuck it!" Scarface stormed out of the house.
"Where are you going?" Lenny asked.
"To get my daughter back. If I don't, they will feed on her for weeks on end."
"You are to take me to Ella's town. Or have you soon mistaken my face with the one I now wear!"
Scarface paused as he swallowed hard. He remembered the gruesome things that he had seen Lenny do.
He really did not want to piss Lenny off.
However, his instincts as a father kicked in.
No father wanted to see their daughter hurt, even if they knew she would heal because of an immortal curse.
Just then, his quick brain thought of a solution to his problem. "You know, I found an old SUV in the garage that I wanted us to use. Ella's town is just west of here, about 250 kilometers away. If you want, you could use it. It's not bad for what you want, but with the desert out there, you'll eventually get the old tires stuck in the sand. OR, you could come along with me. The guys holding her have this very sick ride. It's a Desert Honker, custom built by their boss before he came in here."
Lenny suddenly smiled, "You could have started with that."
Just then, he got an alarm from the system.
<Congratulations! The host has accepted a side quest>
<Mission details: Help Scarface recover his Daughter>
<Mission Status: Unlock title: Tongue of Truth (Basic 1) If Host finishes Mission with Manipulation only, empty of any kind of Violence>
Lenny frowned at this.
He really could not believe what he was seeing.
The system had just told him to settle a matter without violence. Such a thing really surprised him.
....I think you should take a look at
In what looked like an abandoned warehouse, a young woman was tied to a giant spinning wheel in the middle of the room.
An erotic mixture of men and half-naked women having a party surrounded her.
The woman tied to the wheel had different kinds of knives sticking out of different parts of her body, including her mouth.
Her blood flowed down the wheel, which had a bucket underneath where the blood gathered.
From time to time, the party people will come over with their glasses, fetching some to quench their thirst.
As they did, the woman sent vulgar insults and curses at them.
"Fuck you all! I hope you all, you mother fuckers, burn in hell for drinking my blood."
"Hahahaha!!!" One of the men laughed loudly. He was an average muscular man sitting on a nice as post-apocalyptically possible chair at a particular end.
He had two big, meaty men as guards by his side and three naked, famished girls around him. All of them vying for his attention.
After all, his favor was the only way they were going to get food for the night.
He had one of his hands massaging the naked backside of one in one hand, and on the other hand, he spun a knife in between his fingers.
This was Washboard. He was the head of these Loan sharks and the only other person capable of challenging Father Black for his position as chief of the town.
Of course, if it were not for his fear of the old man's command of the Hounds protecting the town, he might have made his move a long time ago.
Now, however, he just enjoys new ways of exploiting the Town's citizens.
"Sorry, sweet heart," Washboard gave a sarcastic smile, "we just helped ourselves with some appetizer, yeah! The real fun comes when we'll be eating out your liver. That is, unless your daddy somehow comes up with enough meat to settle his debt."
He suddenly threw the knife.
*Wush!*
It landed right on an arm.
~Hhnn~
She moaned in pain.
However, she still looked at him and threw a spit that miraculously flew the long distance in between them to land on his face.
This was saliva that had obviously been mixed with a bit of mucus for extra projectile efficiency.
He wiped his face as he waved for another knife to be brought to him.
Just then, there was a loud sound outside the Warehouse as two people were left on the premises by two guards.
The moment they entered, all attention was drawn to them.
"Dad!" Nicky called out from the Spinning wheel.
"Nicky! Oh my god, are you alright?"
She nodded her head, "Don't worry, just hanging." She cracked an obviously unfunny joke about the situation.
"Dad, you should not be here. They will kill you."
"Don't worry, I brought someone here to help."
Lenny stepped forward...
(Author's note: thank you all for last month. I fulfilled my promise and did over 30 chapters a week. I plan to continue with that speed only if I'm encouraged, of Course.)
