Lenny had initially thought that this mission was going to be a piece of cake.
In fact, the description of it seemed like a piece of cake.
Now that he thought about it, he was actually quite forward with the entire thing.
If only he was patient with Mani and waited for all fifty plant types to be mixed and produced, then he would not be in the current position he was in.
But at the time, he did not consider all that, and the part of him always itching for a good challenge had taken over without his consent.
A true bad habit he had.
Then again, he was a lunatic. Always had been and always would be a lunatic.
The moment Lenny touched the ground, Mani was at a loss for what to do.
After all, she was only supposed to be an assistant.
But the boss of the project had intentionally poisoned himself.
For the first few minutes, she contemplated actually reporting this case to Ella.
Ella had called Lenny a Nephilim before her face.
It was general knowledge in this place that Ella was a Nephilim.
A being that was half celestial and half human
Her existence in this place was the reason for its peace and prosperity.
She was their mother and their god.
But that did not mean that she did not bite.
In fact, most times, she was more dangerous than she was harmless.
Mani could not help but contemplate her position.
And surprisingly, a voice in her head actually advised her to drop it all and run.
Lenny was passed out on the ground, but his passive ability—presence—allowed him to know what was happening around him.
It allowed him to see the world, even though he was without eyes.
And he noticed as Mani took half a step backwards.
That move right there was one Lenny was very familiar with.
After all, most, if not all, living things have it.
Yes, it was fear.
The most primal, instinctive reaction of any person weaker than the assumptions of their own mind.
However, as terrifying as it was, he could actually do nothing about it.
Except, of course, to instruct the system.
Even if he lost control of his body, it did not mean that the system did.
~wush~
A low glow of white flames went about his body.
This very much surprised her, but almost made her give a breath of relief.
It meant that he was still alive.
The fire went about his body, and then it swirled through the air and actually made the indication of a poorly made arrow, pointing at the piece of paper he had written on before he fell.
She immediately came out of the thoughts in her head.
The moment he fell to the ground, she had almost forgotten about that.
Immediately, she picked up the paper and rushed to Ella.
She explained everything that had happened.
Especially emphasizing the fact that he was still alive.
Ella took the paper from her hands, "And where is he now?"
"I left him with the medics!"
Ella immediately stood up from her seat. An action that made Mani subconsciously take a step back.
I think you should take a look at
After all, the fear of Ella was the beginning of wisdom.
However, Ella did not have time for her.
Instead, she went past her and went to the laboratory to inspect the production of the plants that Lenny claimed he needed on the paper.
With Ella's presence, all fifty plants were quickly made.
This all happened within the next thirteen hours.
After which, she instructed that Lenny's mouth be forced open and a tiny piece of all fifty be placed into his mouth and forced down his throat.
However, unknown to them, there was a problem.
<Plants 6/50>
<Count reset>
<Plant 1/50>
<Count reset>
<Plant 1/50>
<Count reset>
<Plant 1/50>
<Count reset>
<Plant 1/50>.....
This was actually unknown to them.
Ella made sure Lenny was given all fifty plants.
All he needed was a small piece of their bodies.
Again and again, they gave him the fifty, but to their surprise, he was not waking up.
At this point, there was no one more scared than Mani.
After all, she was the only one with Lenny at the time he ingested the substances he did.
Now that Mani thought about it, it would have been better if she had not done what Lenny had instructed her to do earlier on.
Now, she had been thrown into such a Ludacris situation.
Even the medics were starting to look at her in a different manner.
Ella walked up to her.
"Are you sure this paper was all he gave you?" Her tone was that of a person obviously holding back on her anger.
Mani nodded her head. "Yes, my lady!"
Ella turned once more to Lenny.
At this point, his body was already four shades of color.
He had swollen red spots all over his body. He was also quite swollen, and over all, he looked like a newly developed kind of poisonous frog.
In her annoyance, Ella squeezed the paper Mani had given her and threw it away before she turned and walked away.
Meanwhile, Mani broke down on the spot in tears.
For people in this sanctuary, the worst thing anyone wanted to do was disappoint Ella.
It was practically a death sentence.
However, in this state, she couldn't help but remember Lenny's fierce look and how serious he was about the paper.
Now that she thought about it, she had not even looked into the paper.
It was not that she was doubting that Ella followed it accordingly; after all, there was nothing to gain if she did not.
But Mani knew that her future in this place greatly depended on it.
At this point, she walked forward to the thrown paper.
She opened it, and then she read it.
As she did, she couldn't help but look in Lenny's direction again and again.
It was at this point that a faint realization came to her...
