Chapter 2065: Noble Fey
The Soul Palace maidens didn’t say anything as it was their task to listen to the commands of their Palace Master, but Ivy Aries and Valley Master Jade Aurora were different. They wanted to head back and inform the others of their safety as well as verify their people’s safety, so they appeared quite constricted, even fidgety.
But since they were saved, they couldn’t say anything. Moreover, the location of inheritance sites was of the utmost secret to any power, so if they left on their own, it could be possible that they would be killed. They didn’t want to take any chances, so they obediently stayed.
It had been a few hours since the inheritance palace rumbled, which could’ve signified the start of the trials for Evelynn.
During this time, Yotan, Valley Master Jade Aurora, and Threelotus did their best to conserve energy, while Davis, Myria, and Ivy Aries all had their own methods to counter the poisonous atmosphere of the rift spaces. One of them easily devoured the contaminated heaven and earth energy here and made it into their own, while the remaining two simply used their life energy to remove the impurities of the heaven and earth energy as they kept absorbing as though they were breathing ordinarily.
Using this time, Myria almost fully resuscitated her soul force, causing Davis to understand that her Eternal Life Soul was truly exquisite.
*Bzzz!~*
A sudden flash of light near the entrance of the inheritance palace caught the attention of the people gathered. Their heads all swiveled in that direction, causing them to see a black silhouette pass through the semi-transparent purple barrier as it vaguely rippled.
The silhouette appeared like a female figure. She flew towards them slowly as she hovered before finally appearing before them.
Her purple robe was bloodied, but her jade white skin appeared unblemished, causing Davis’s mouth to become agape. His gaze was on her sexy face, which made his heart skip a beat. He couldn’t help but feel the slightest hint that she became more beautiful at this moment but noticed that there was no change in her facial features but her aura.
It had become nobler, something more than what Nadia exuded.
But at this moment, Evelynn closed her third eye, causing him to notice the image of a vertical eye aligned with eight legs like they were eyelashes on her forehead. In his eyes, she was astonishingly beautiful, causing him to become dumbfounded again.
*Whistle!~*
Davis whistled as his expression became bright a moment later, causing Evelynn to lower her head as she smiled, a blush appearing on her face.
He arrived before her and grabbed her soft hands, “It must’ve been difficult clearing this trial. Come, let’s return home.”
The aura coming from the blood that dried on her robe was more than enough evidence for him to know the hardship she endured to reach this level. From her body, he could sense that her prowess had surged from two levels to four levels, which was a massive increase considering the gap between the levels. Furthermore, if she used her species technique, it was of little doubt to him that her prowess would reach five levels above, perhaps almost.
He felt deeply proud of her at this moment, causing him to lean and kiss her forehead, right on her beauty mark, which was the direct manifestation of the Emperor-Tier Bloodline, which was actually on her closed third eye.
It not only allowed magical beasts to radiate a noble aura but was also the amalgamation of some unique body parts. For Nadia, it was her unique horn.
In Evelynn’s case, it was his first time seeing such a tier mark, and he wondered if it was related to the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid’s third eye in some way as it appeared more unique than a normal Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid.
Evelynn felt fully recharged as she held him close for some time, leaning on his chest before she moved back.
“Let’s go back.”
Davis nodded as he grasped her hand. They all left together, leaving the rift space.
He had already considered leaving his soul body here, but Ellia said that she marked the spatial node here, so she would know how to return to this rift or even tear open a spatial vortex to this rift space as long as she didn’t encounter spatial storms in between, making him shocked but considering that her comprehension of Space Laws was out of the mortal realm, he didn’t find it strange for her to notice such a spatial node and have the power to go anywhere she wanted.
It was no wonder she didn’t get caught in the eyes of anyone during her adventure in the Eastern Magical Beast Territories, not even the All-Seeing Tower that occasionally sends a few Beast Tamers to gain some information about rare herbs and plants.
Nonetheless, he just didn’t depend on Ellia for all matters. He had marked the rifts with the same pillars his Soul Legion people used, so if he came here again, he would know the way unless or until a rift entirely disappeared, leaving his path cut off, at which point, he would have to rely on Ellia’s spatial abilities anyway.
“Emperor of Death, I wonder how many rifts do we have to pass in order to return to the Poison Rift Valley Territory? I’m asking because I think the Emperor Sword Sect could ambush us at the exit, and I’m willing to handle it.”
Ivy Aries couldn’t help but open her mouth on the way back as she felt intensely curious and worried. Even though they were on their way out, she felt anxious that the Emperor Sword Sect could be in waiting in ambush for them, at which point, she was afraid that she would cause more trouble to their saviors.
If possible, she wanted to take them down before the Emperor of Death could make a move.
Davis saw that she started calling him with honorifics even though he had previously told her to address him by his name as they were of the same generation. He just chuckled and didn’t say anything. His plain old reaction also made the others smile, but they didn’t say anything, leaving a confused Ivy Aries.
They made their way out, exiting the rifts of the Poison Rift Valley.
Stepping out of the rift, Ivy Aries and Valley Master Jade Aurora took a deep breath, breathing in the heaven and earth energy that was somewhat purer than in the rifts. This place was still poisonous, but it was way better than being inside the rifts for days.
It was like they gained a second wind, feeling rejuvenated.
“I have some business with my Mystic Ice Sect. Then, goodbye.”
Myria raised her hand and started flying away, but Davis appeared in front of her, blocking her path.
“What do you want?”
“Nothing.” Davis smiled, “Why would you want to go there since you already have your soul body there.”
“Tch, you noticed.” She clicked her tongue, her voice sounding annoyed, “So what? I don’t have time to be babysitting you.”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t recall you having babysat me, although I admit I’m shamelessly using your knowledge. However, I just can’t let go of Ellia from my sight. Are you going to take her away from me… again?”
“You-” Myria clenched her fists as she heard his soft voice at the end, wanting to point her finger at him in rebuttal but didn’t, waving her hand, “Hmph, all you’re good at is manipulating the people around you. Fine, I’ll let you have your way for a few more days. In return, don’t you ever disturb me!”
“Deal accepted.”
Davis chuckled.
After many conversations with Myria, he learned that she hated being in the wrong, so a few days later, he felt like using the same tactic to have Ellia stay with him. There was no other choice unless he wanted to risk battling with Myria, and it seemed like she understood the same, berating him before accepting his proposal.
They both thought of Ellia’s well-being, so such an outcome couldn’t be helped.
Shortly, they left the Poison Rift Valley Territory and entered the Jade Lotus Valley Territory, whereupon they quickly met with the two Ancestors of their sect, becoming showered in tears and love as Ivy Aries and Valley Master Jade Aurora were hugged tightly.
