Chapter 2069: Unsurety
What kind of notion was that? However…
“Really…? You can do something like that?”
In her voice was a tinge of longing and apprehension that couldn’t be hidden.
“Yes,” Davis nodded, “But the cost is extreme for a person like you whose soul is already on the verge of extinction. You will have to endure intense pain stemming from your soul in order for you to succeed.”
“Just that?” Ancestor Aries couldn’t help but giggle as though it was child’s play, “I’ve been keeping my soul intact till the day I see the Shards die. I have no use for it anymore now that you have inherited his will and rained vengeance upon them. However, what use is there? It’s not like I wish to reunite with him, but how can I find him? I’m somewhat romantic despite being an old granny but not delusional. I know that reunit-“
“Age doesn’t matter in love for the most part.” Davis interrupted her, “Once you reincarnate, I will locate you using a special method. As for Old Man Garvin’s reincarnation, leave it to me. I’ll definitely find him.”
Ancestor Aries’s mouth was wide agape, “Have you comprehended Karma Laws to that degree?”
“You could say that.” Davis wryly smiled, “But to me, this could also be said to be learning Karma Laws, and you could be said to be a test subject. It is up to you, granny, to decide whether you want to follow through with my crazy plan. You could just die hoping with no hope or die trying with some hope. It’s ultimately your decision.”
Davis shrugged, slightly recalling his own past. He wasn’t even sure if the cultivation world existed, but he still crossed worlds using some crazy ideas.
In short, it was quite shameless to think of obtaining benefits without taking risks.
As for the karmic connection, some love could last a lifetime, and some others, last through countless lives.
The only woman Old Man Garvin specifically mentioned to him was ancestor Aries that it could be seen he loved her too much that she didn’t even have a Blood Soul Contract binding their marriage with him, unlike his other wives.
Davis was positive that he could track down Old Man Garvin’s reincarnation with the reincarnation of ancestor Aries. If they were both meant for each other even in the next life because of their strong love for each other and unrequited feelings of being unable to meet thousands of years, he felt that it should work, the both of them possessing a red karma thread that connected them through time and space, except since there was the factor of reincarnation involved, that thread has yet to manifest at the moment, or so he pondered deeply.
Otherwise, he would’ve healed ancestor Aries and simply brought her to the reincarnated Old Man Garvin.
Then again, these were just his own hypothesis over karma threads, but he had a faint inkling that he could be right this time, almost instinctively.
“Handsome young man, it seems like you’re really bent on finding your master.”
“Granny, Old Man Garvin’s not my master. We are teacher and student.”
“Aiya! It’s all the same. In any case, I agree with your plan. Just let me inform my great-granddaughter lest she thinks that you killed me.” She sounded exhilarated and witty, causing Davis to agree.
However, he couldn’t help but notice that she wished to have a claim to his name, making him inwardly laugh. It couldn’t be helped, considering that any kind of power does like to celebrate the fact that they produced a prodigy. It was a normal matter, but some were shameless enough to claim that they were close after not having a good relationship.
He despised such people, but this granny was different, wanting to die trying by his hands. He liked her guts.
“Then you inform her and tell me sometime later. I’ll wait for your final answer, granny. Until then, take care.”
========
Outside ancestor Aries’s floating palace, the atmosphere was still tense.
Ivy Aries glared at Fairy Myria and the Hex Demoness.
They just didn’t allow her to enter her ancestor’s palace, which made her think that they were up to something, but she couldn’t think of anything, wondering why they would act so secretive in front of an old woman who had nothing to do with the current state of affairs.
Could it be that they were going to heal her because she was Ancestor Garvin’s love? Perhaps, they were just delivering some remnants of Ancestor Garvin to her and didn’t want interruption? But in that case, the Emperor of Death would’ve visited of his own volition and not waited for them to invite him.
Or was it as she initially thought?
“Are you afraid that your husband will favor me more?”
Ivy Aries glared at Evelynn and asked, intent on provoking her to obtain more information. She didn’t think of herself to be superior. After all, she had just seen Evelynn clear an immortal inheritance.
Evelynn turned her head to look at Ivy Aries, feeling like she had heard something hilarious.
“You seem to be misunderstanding something.”
“What do you mean?” Ivy Aries narrowed her eyes. What exactly did she misunderstand? That’s what she wanted to know, the intent behind their strange actions.
Evelynn shot a pitiful smile, “Most of this world’s previous World Devouring Water Body possessors were sex deviants. They liked to prey on the opposite sex and squeeze them dry, empowering themselves.”
“Wha-!? Su-Such a disgusting act…”
“Yeah, that’s what your World Devouring Water Body is capable of, and so now you know why no man dares to send a marriage proposal to you. Only that Rayn Shard had the gall, no, he doesn’t have that kind of courage. Most likely, he was planning to make use of your body’s specialty in some way. After all, you’re basically an energy extractor.”
“…”
Ivy Aries looked mortified, having heard something she didn’t want to hear. Her intent to provoke backfired, making her want to almost cry, but at his moment, Evelynn arrived in front of her and grabbed her hand.
“Well, husband knows that you’re not a woman like that, so don’t worry.”
At this moment, Davis stepped out of the floating palace.
“I’ve enjoyed the visit more than I thought I would. I thank you all for your hospitality.”
Davis clasped his hands towards the Ancestors and Valley Master before gesturing toward his people.
“Let’s return.”
Davis and the others left together, returning to the Alstreim Family Territory, while Yotan and Threelotus returned to the Soul Palace with more cultivation resources provided by their Palace Master.
On the other hand, the absentminded Ivy Aries saw two spatial rings on her palm, placed by Evelynn. One was hers, and the other belonged to her Valley Master! She couldn’t believe that they were retrieved after being sacrificed for their protection.
These two spatial rings were what Evelynn specifically requested from the Emperor-Tier Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal as she was almost about to leave.
A hand suddenly reached out and grabbed a spatial ring, causing Ivy Aries to be startled. She saw that it was none other than Valley Master Jade Aurora taking her spatial ring, which put her at ease. After everyone left and Ivy Aries was about to enter the floating palace, the Valley Master stopped her.
“Little Ivy, I have something to ask. Can you answer me honestly?”
“What is it, Valley Master? If it’s something that I can answer, I won’t hide anything!” Ivy Aries slammed her breasts, causing them to recoil softly yet firmly.
“Mhm…” Valley Master Jade Aurora hesitated before she asked, “Do you know how I was healed? Not a strand of poison remains in my body. Such deep healing could not be done so quickly…”
“What?” Ivy Aries blinked, “Valley Master doesn’t know how you were cured?”
“Well, it must be the Hex Demoness. I was just asking for confirmation…”
Valley Master Jade Aurora waved her hand and turned around as though it was not a big matter.
However, recalling how she became butt naked in front of the Emperor of Death and collapsed, her face couldn’t help but severely burn. She took a deep breath and left, leaving a hanging Ivy Aries who wondered what’s so wrong with getting cured by the Hex Demoness.
‘She seemed like a good person, although she was somewhat scary…’
Ivy Aries shrugged before she entered the floating palace. Sometime later, a loud voice echoed.
“What!? You old fool! You want to die!?”
