Davis's expression became slightly awkward as he noticed Bing Luli having teared up a bit. Obviously, she wasn't scared that he raised his voice but looked shaken to see his dead body.
However, beyond the borders of his imagination, he couldn't remember how Bing Luli and he was that close for her to become teary-eyed for him.
"What are you doing?"
Myria turned around to glare at him, causing Davis to raise his hands in surrender.
"I just want to know if Bing Luli left your mansion. Since she hadn't left, I need to talk to you."
"About what?" Myria lightly scoffed before she turned to look at his corpse on the altar, her brows narrowing.
"This is... really your body? How did you create this? It's so realistically lifeless. Perhaps this vessel could be used as an avatar if you're able to manifest a soul sea and even dantians in it..."
"..."
Vessel? Davis's brows twitched. However, he also couldn't help but smile as if even Myria was not able to find anything wrong, then the others should be able to believe that he died easily.
"However, assuming that the rumors are true, that doesn't explain how your life jade is broken unless you broke it yourself, but in that case, there will definitely be traces of your soul still left in the soul jade. Moreover, it's faint, but I sense three kinds of life energies, one belonging to you and the other to Ellia. Strange, I don't remember having helped you create this body, but I would say that this isn't even mine as it belongs to a magical beast."
She turned to look at him again, appearing hauntingly curious.
"..." Davis was once again stumped by her sharpness, "Looks like I should still keep my corpse for a while here."
"Corpse...?"
Myria narrowed her eyes at that way of addressing her, causing Ellia to give Aurelia back to her mother before she appeared beside her and whispered.
"Elder sister, husband did die."
"..." Myria's expression held a frown upon hearing Ellia repeating the rumor, "Are you done?"
Ellia pursed her lips, not knowing what to say as she turned to look at Davis.
Davis also stared at Myria before he turned around and started heading for the staircase. He didn't say anything, but Myria started to follow him up, leaving behind everyone else on the ground floor.
As they walked together, Davis couldn't help but suddenly remember the time when they rose up together to challenge the floors here. At that time, they still weren't as close as they were now, causing him to give her a side glance at her beautiful face that was hidden by a veil.
"...?"
Abruptly, he saw Myria giving him a side glance as well, his expression momentarily becoming taken aback as their eyes met.
But then, Myria acted like it wasn't a big deal and gazed forward, leaving him nodding that it was his imagination.
Nonetheless, he took her to the seventh floor and entered the Life Nurturing Formation, showing her the way to a vast garden where a white-robed woman with white hair and azure strands turned to look at them, her cute eyes adorably blinking as though she was caught red-handed.
She was watering a plant life with her life energy, cutely humming. This plant seemed to be a Late Immortal Stage herb as it gave off a vast aura, yet it was not considered special amongst the many auras surrounding it.
The moment Myria and Davis came into view, the flower bloomed, letting out a sweet aroma from its petals which made Myria gasp. However, she didn't gasp at the flowers but at the beauty amidst the bed of flowers, releasing a wonderful aura that attracted all life forms, including herself, that she instinctively knew who the other party was.
"Nine Lives Gracious Fox..."
She turned to look at Davis with disbelief, for a moment thinking that he had kidnapped this fox from Saintess Lunaria, but over a second glance, she felt like she recognized that face, although it had considerably changed and become much more beautiful.
"Everlight?" On a third look, she finally made sense of her unsulliable aura, "Emperor-Tier?"
"No wonder... no wonder you were able to create an empty vessel like that- no, it's..."
Myria narrowed her eyes at Davis, looking at him with a bit of scrutiny before she shook her head as though glossing over it.
"... but this finally explains why Isabella's aura is also at Emperor-Tier."
She continued, "You used the ability that a King-Tier Nine Lives Gracious Fox is said to exhibit, Bloodline Impelling Evolution, supposedly capable of making any magical beast step into a higher tier, such as King-Tier, as long as they sacrifice three of their tails. However, it's denoted that there have been only five King-Tier Nine Lives Gracious Foxes in history, but she..."
Myria returned her look to Everlight, staring at her with wide, excited eyes.
"I think she's the second or third Emperor-Tier Nine Lives Gracious Fox to ever come into existence..."
"You seem majorly interested in the Nine Lives Gracious Fox." Davis smiled at Myria's hyperactive side that he had never seen before.
She was like a child, displaying immense curiosity and eagerness to want to get her hands on it.
"Of course. I heavily researched them and based some of my insights on them, but unfortunately, I never got to have one as a pet in my life even though a few other Saintesses possessed one."
Everlight wryly smiled, "Am I a pet?"
"Pet?" Myria's smile grew strange, "You'll be treated like a goddess on the level of a guardian deity, no, even higher. People would line up to give you treats all day long and worship you, hoping to receive your blessing."
"..."
Everlight didn't know what to say while Davis made a gesture like he told her so, but ultimately, Everlight chose to be with him, cooped up in this place like a trapped princess.
However, he also knew that he couldn't keep concealing Everlight's existence from Myria or the world forever. But still, he knew this wasn't the time, causing him to turn to look at Myria.
"I need your help. The situation within our island is serious as we got a traitor in our ranks."
"I thought so too, so how about having your little sister investigate everyone...? Or... is she the one who spread this matter?"
"..."
Myria looked at Davis solemnly, causing him to be unable to speak for a moment.
