"I... I swear. I don't know about Myria's matter but I... I once tried to spread rumors that... Legion Master... and I... have a thing... but... no one believed me! So, nothing happened... right?"
By the time Threelotus finished explaining, her expression had started twitching as she blushed heavily at Davis.
"..." The others also blinked, not knowing what to say as they glanced at each other, some finding this hilarious as they silently giggled.
Davis planted his palm on his face, dragging his face down till he hid his mouth before he glared Threelotus into lowering her head in shame. He didn't know whether he found this cute or encouraging, as Threelotus was just being herself and not a traitor.
For a moment, his heart sank, but now, he felt it was good to know that she hadn't betrayed him.
Shaking his head, he walked away from her and asked the Legion Commander.
Yotan was a lovely woman purely in terms of look, as she possessed a kind of nobility and elegance that usually wouldn't be seen in most women. Even Shirley, a princess, lacked such nobility. Nonetheless, he practically had no issues with her and trusted her, especially after the display she showed, which even earned Isabella and Shirley's approval.
Still, he asked her the question, and it was negative as he expected, causing him to move on. However, Yotan did put in a word for Threelotus, saying that she didn't mean any harm but would like for him to look her way and praise her achievements as the Vice Commander.
Even then, he only gave the nod to Yotan and didn't say anything to Threelotus as he was getting closer and closer to the person he was the most suspicious about, wanting to focus.
The reddish-black-robed woman before him appeared devilish in looks, simply emanating an attractive charm that would cause men to throw themselves in the fire for her if she was willing. Her pale white skin accentuated her clothes, and the blood-red hair she had made her appear quite the villainess.
Still, she possessed a calm countenance, waiting for him to speak.
"Schleya, I know you're not interested in talking with people, but would you happen to have shared Myria's true status with anyone?"
"No, I didn't."
Schleya's answer was precise and up to a point. She didn't give any additional answers, almost causing him to almost smile at her, but he raised his hand and patted her shoulder.
"I know I can trust you."
Schleya didn't react with her eyes or her mouth, but her pale cheeks did blush a little after she saw Davis leave with his little sister.
This time, Davis encountered two beauties who stood together as though they were inseparable.
One was a gentle beauty who wore an astral silver dress, the blue and silver of the sky. The fabric felt like silk, but it shimmered with the light from around her in waves that reminded Davis of the reflections on water; as if he were seeing the reflection of the sun through the surface of the sea. Her eyes were half closed, greeting him with a heartened smile.
On the other hand, the other beauty clad in purple robes was a bit nervous, but her countenance was much more elegant and refined, almost to the point where she appeared slightly haughty. With her hair tied back in a ponytail, there was not even one strand out of place, which gave her appearance the look of a princess straight out of ancient times.
Looking at these two, who indulged themselves in seclusion all year long, a pang of guilt swelled in Davis's heart. Even though he knew for a fact that these wouldn't be involved in this matter in any way whatsoever, he still asked.
"Tina... Dalila... do you two have anything to say about this matter?"
"Considering that our avatars are indeed studying in the Aurora Cloud Gate's Library, learning Alchemy, your doubts are valid. However, I would like to state that I haven't said anything about Myria to anyone."
"I'll say the same~" Dalila followed as she enunciated in a soft tone, "I was with sister Tina the whole time, so we can vouch for each other."
"Indeed." Tina kept smiling.
"..."
Davis wanted to say so many things to them, but he merely looked at Clara once before moving on.
He chanced upon a listless icy-white-robed woman whose countenance didn't look good. Looking at her pale face, Davis was even more hurt inside, causing him to curse himself.
He stood before her, raising his hand to caress her cheek, but then suddenly grabbed her chin, causing her eyes to turn wide.
"Tanya, I don't think you did it, but I will have a word with you later."
Davis scoffed and turned away, moving on to the next person, leaving Tanya in disbelief as she gazed at him leave.
"Davis, you're going too far!"
Natalya stepped out and said in a mild tone, but she didn't look at him, looking elsewhere as she possessed an unamused expression.
Davis saw that the smile had left her face. Even the easygoing Natalya was unable to accept this kind of behavior from him, especially since it was directed at her best friend. However, he didn't reply to Natalya but looked at the purple-robed woman with silver hair and the blonde-haired young aunt who stood together.
"Mystic Diviners... even if you didn't leak any information outside, is it possible for other diviners to spy on you? After all, what kind of techniques are you practicing, and do those few techniques garner the attention of other Mystic Diviners, allowing them to trace back to you and allow them to know what they shouldn't?"
Davis raised his brows as he asked his little aunt and Mystic Diviner Hailac, causing them to look at each other.
"We... we did indeed practice divination techniques such as spying on someone, but... our targets were only Esvele, Katherine, and Threelotus."
"...?"
Esvele and Katherine, who were in the middle, appeared like they were given a shock as they heard Tia's answer, while Threelotus, who was already investigated, was shocked beyond compare. They had been spied upon? For what? Just practice? But for how many times?
They couldn't help but blush and be angered as they felt their privacy invaded.
"So..." Tia blushed, "So for them to even trace back to us, much less notice us, is pretty much impossible."
"That said," But she quickly continued, "I haven't exposed anything."
Davis nodded, turning to look at Mystic Diviner Hailac. She hesitated a bit before opening her mouth.
"I won't deny going out two times to get some resources, but I didn't even know that Myria is a Divergent for a fact, as I could only make an educated guess by seeing the clouds forming above the Treasury when Bing Luli was killed... so, I did share my thoughts to my peers when they asked me about this more."
"So it was you..."
Davis's eyes became wide as his voice became chilling, causing Mystic Diviner Hailac to become pale as she shook her head.
"No... I... I didn't mean to do that... I only shared assumptions..."
"But assumptions are enough to form a bias and further look into it to prove it, right?"
Davis closed in on her, causing her to shudder. Instantly, she tried to take a step back, but Davis grabbed her wrists, causing her to freeze in place.
"Why did you stay silent all this time? Did you spy or somehow allow others to spy on Myria or the members of the Mystic Ice Sect, like Bing Luli and the others? Is this the reason you came here?"
Mystic Diviner Hailac shivered as she heard Davis's voice pressure her, her eyelids quivering as she looked scared and hurt.
