"Who… who are you?"
Davis was shaken as he saw the heavenly human hovering above even the Paragon Magical Beasts.
He appeared to wear a white robe that radiated pure elegance, suffused with a heavenly glow that seemed to emanate from within and looked like a youth.
Despite his annihilative appearance granted by the jade-crimson heavenly wind and scarlet-black heavenly lightning, there was a tangible sense of warmth and gentleness that radiated from him. His sharp features seemed to be softened by a serene smile that was imbued with a sense of peace and tranquility, as though they were the embodiment of all that is good and pure in the world.
Davis felt truly taken aback by this godly-looking handsome young man who seemed to be sparkling.
He was like a deity descending from the heavens, and that thought became even more entrenched in him after he mentioned the world master.
After all, if this inner world didn't belong to the world master, then whose was it?
"A calamity of a universe cycle."
Abruptly, the heavenly man spoke as he turned to look at him, causing Davis to be shaken out of his reverie before he pointed at him.
"You are?"
"No, you." Only to be returned the gesture, causing Davis's expression to falter.
"Me?" Davis gawked, "Old man, I just want to live with my family peacefully as I grow to a level that's enough to protect my family. If you can advise the heavens to stop sending annihilative tribulations, I would be very thankful and even behave until my bottom line is triggered."
Although Davis faltered, he looked excited to finally have someone he could talk with.
"Unfortunately, I can't do that."
However, the heavenly man shook his head, causing Davis's expression to freeze before he heaved a light sigh.
"So you're dead, huh? There goes my sudden hope for negotiation."
He imagined that if he could talk to these Wills, then there could be some change, but it seems like he was too naive to be thinking about that. As long as he held Fallen Heaven- no, even without Fallen Heaven, he was already a mature Anarchic Divergent.
After all, he had plundered so many things from the heavens already.
"No, I'm alive."
"What!?"
Davis jumped in shock as he heard the heavenly man's words, raising his head to look at him. However, the man's face still had a light smile, glowing as though he had no reason to lie. Gulping ever so lightly, he panned his gaze at the Paragon Magical Beasts.
"Does that mean… they're also alive!?"
He remembered insulting almost all of them. It can't be that they would be all out to get him when he ascended, right?
"Aha~" To his reaction, the heavenly man lightly laughed.
"My will is the only one that is still alive here. As for them, they're only remnant Wills, at my control at the moment, but of course, if they want to, they can break free."
His words reminded Davis of the move that the wolf made. That was a mystery even till now, but he was starting to get the gist of it.
"So you're a heaven's warrior of the highest order in the entire universe?" He asked, his eyes squinting.
The heavenly man remained quiet for a moment before nodding his head.
"I think so."
"Most Anarchic Divergents cuss at me at first sight. However, you don't seem like an Anarchic Divergent fueled by hate, wrath, and insanity. Yet, why would you go around doing this?"
He pointed around, causing Davis's expression to twitch.
He felt like he was caught doing genocide by the police. Although he had his reasons, he was well aware what he was doing was quite wrong, although it wasn't enough of a reason for him to stop putting the culprits in a world of pain.
Sighing lightly, he panned his gaze at the cities he had destroyed. No one was alive or conscious, for they had all fainted. The cities were burning with all those explosions, but this sight didn't seem to move Davis one bit as fury still flashed past his eyes.
"Well, they tried to be devious to my fourth wife and tried to entrap her even after I gave them many chances, so naturally, I will uproot their blood until they have learned their lesson and surrender for their sins."
The heavenly man nodded as though he understood.
"So they touched something important to you, and you retaliated?"
"…" Davis raised his brows, thinking that was too quick but still nodded, "Indeed. This is a move made to protect myself as well as my family and show others not to touch my reverse scales, not even in their dreams."
"You have your answer."
The heavenly man smiled as he gestured, causing Davis's expression to sink.
"I'm a threat to heaven's rule..?"
"Indeed. When the heavens fall, so does the universe and the lives that live in it. Even if not now, perhaps in the future, you will be a source of great danger. As for in what way you are a threat, even I, a Celestial Transcendent, can only make some guesses."
"Celestial Transcendent… what are you…? You don't seem to be under heaven's influence."
Davis's gaze shook.
What the heavenly man said was something that he could guess, and he only wanted to let the heavens know that he would not be a danger, but the more the heavens threw him into a pit of destruction, tragedy, and suffering, the more he wanted to retaliate, ultimately going against the heavens.
He felt like this kind of scenario could be avoided if they only engaged in negotiation, and Davis felt like there couldn't be any better a chance other than now as there was someone from his tribulation talking with him!
"Oh?" The Celestial Transcendent gently chuckled, "Does it seem like that? Well, if you get to my cultivation level, then the influence the heavens would have on one would indeed decrease, but to reach that level is too difficult. However, as you can see, I have chosen to come under the direct command of the heavens, acting as its punisher, so I receive its influence more than other people at my level do."
"Other people at your level…"
Davis clenched his teeth, smiling at the Celestial Transcendent, "Is the world master the same level as you?"
"That reminds me… the fifth Anarchic Divergent that ever summoned me in their tribulation was the master of this world. And you… are the ninth. Who do you think the next one would be?"
The Celestial Transcendent lightly laughed. Every gesture he made was imbued with a sense of delicate grace and serenity, his movements flowing with the effortless visage of a gentle breeze.
But Davis's brows could only twitch without a stop.
How the hell would he know that? Besides, he was the ninth Anarchic Divergent to reach this level of tribulation? And the world master was the fifth!?
That meant the world master was strong as him at this cultivation stage. In other words, it would also mean that there was little hope in taking down the world master unless he went beyond the world master's cultivation manual, mastering chaos and destruction together.
What else was there he needed to know?
However, he was starting to get creeped out already, taking two steps back and adopting a battle pose calmly.
"You… why aren't you attacking me yet?"
It was his tribulation that didn't intend to leave him alive, and a minute had already passed talking back and forth like this, yet there wasn't a single strike?
How can that be!?
Davis imagined that there must be some kind of formless attack like the Heart Demon Tribulation that was brewing right now or was already upon him, showing him this ridiculous situation that he couldn't have possibly imagined.
"Well, it's been a while since I got summoned like this, so let's chat a bit."
eαglesnᴏνel The Celestial Transcendent shrugged, causing Davis to be dumbfounded.
"Chat…?" He uttered stupidly before chuckling as he looked away.
"I wondered what new heavenly punishment the heavens would send to kill me, but it sent an old immortal who wants to chat? What the... I'm not a Celestial Fairy."
"Aha~" The Celestial Transcendent laughed, not seeming offended but instead even looked at Davis with gentle eyes, "Surprisingly, you're humorous for an Anarchic Divergent. Still, whether I can defeat you or not this time, I will know whether to hunt you down or not upon your ascension."
However, what he uttered was so spine-chilling that it caused Davis's expression to change.
"Come on. Give me a break…" Davis looked as though he was going to die from exhaustion.
"Just how many levels are you above me?"
"You can learn about that if you have a chance to ascend, but that said… do you want to know more about this world you're currently in?"
The Celestial Transcendent still smiled, but his words caused Davis's expression to blossom with unhinged curiosity.
