The Aurora Cloud Gate's disciples turned shocked, and even Fairy Thunderblaze appeared wide-eyed.
"No way…"
Davis's heart sank as he heard Myria's speculation.
Somewhere in his heart, he held hope that this was still the First Haven World but was in a sealed space.
For example, the First Layer and Second Layer also had different qualities of heaven and earth energy. Even in the First Layer, the sealed Fifty-Two Territories, newly known as the Grand Beginnings Continent, also had different quality of heaven and earth energy compared to the First Haven World.
It was the difference between the surface and the skies.
He wondered if this place was also a sealed world like the Grand Beginnings Continent, but Myria's actions said otherwise, and now even her words confirmed that it wasn't the case.
And finally, comparing it with the strange aura he sensed from the white-robed man he detected controlling the formation that sent them here, not to mention the fact that he could not absorb the energy here, he could intrinsically understand that he was… screwed!
The opponents they were likely going to face were Transcendents!
Humans who followed a different cultivation path than those who followed the Immortal Cultivation Path!
Lea, Bylai, Tina, Dalila, Sophie, Nadia, and Eldia also trembled.
They were full of confidence, knowing that they would eventually enter the true immortal world but not this soon!
Niel Bladeheart, Garoe Rynn, Bing Luli, Cyclonis Blizzara, Zora Luan, Xerna Zenflame, Vereina, and the four other disciples also looked stumped and solemn.
What happened to ascendance!? The World Ascension Ceremony? Was that a farce?
"Vereina, are you able to absorb the energy here?"
Davis sent a soul transmission to Vereina, causing her to be taken aback before she nodded and responded.
"It's a bit difficult, making me feel like my pores are clogged a bit but not a problem as I think this feeling is temporary as my body is adjusting to this world's heaven and earth energy. It's so… pure…"
Vereina moved her hands as though she was practicing martial arts, her hands dancing.
However, Davis was taken aback. He then asked the same of Lea and others, receiving a similar answer.
'I see… it's only the Anarchic Divergents who are affected...'
Confiding this information with Myria, he received a response.
"Accurately, Anarchic Divergents who have encountered more than six Paragon Magical Beasts cannot breathe in the heaven and earth energy. You have to rely on other methods to survive, like having a constant source of energy restoration pills."
"…"
Davis went speechless. Was this how it was going to be like this for him in the future?
'That means this woman would have an advantage over us…'
Davis turned to look at Fairy Thunderblaze as he frowned a bit. He didn't truly expect that he would also grab this woman along with him.
"Try something funny, and you will face the consequences."
"Come on. We are all in this together. Why would I do something funny when we're already at a disadvantage against the people here?"
Fairy Thunderblaze didn't seem to lose her calm upon hearing that this was the true immortal world but even quickly returned to herself, her voice sounding with a tease as she produced a shrug.
Davis narrowed his eyes at her, pausing for a moment before looking away.
"It's just a warning."
"I understand. I don't blame you for suspecting me, but let's assess the surroundings first before understanding why we got here."
"I agree. The hidden danger is far more dangerous than an open threat to counter." Garoe Rynn nodded.
Davis also nodded.
They all doubted if they were still trapped in a formation, so they quickly extended their soul senses further and further, trying to find a threat or an anomaly. However, all they could see was vegetation spreading throughout the forest.
The towering mountains didn't seem to hold any danger either.
At least, for the surrounding ten thousand kilometers, it was empty as it could be, causing them to conclude that they were not in danger.
"It's a maze."
"Maze indeed."
However, Davis and Fairy Thunderblaze quickly managed to see through the problem. They were indeed trapped, causing Davis to start explaining what had happened when they passed through the entrance of the secret realm in order to find a way out together.
Everyone was attentively listening except Myria.
She still appeared to be at a loss as she looked at Davis.
She couldn't understand why he didn't feel like he was being tracked. Surely, there must be death slaves out there whose sole purpose is to track down this damned treasure.
'Is it just a matter of timing?' She wondered.
But if that's the case, then why couldn't she feel herself being tracked by Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion or her other enemies? To top it off, she knew she had been marked by Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion, although she had sealed the mark already, disallowing him to detect her location.I think you should take a look at
However, that was the case in the First Haven World.
Shouldn't Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion be able to force through that block and able to detect she was in the true immortal world now?
She couldn't sense any kind of gaze on her, making her wonder-
'Has the world master sealed this world from prying eyes… impossible…'
Myria's gaze shook. She knew how vast the true immortal world and its denizens were. To be capable of such a feat, had the world master grown stronger than before
She couldn't understand, everything falling into chaos in her mind.
If this was truly the immortal world, then they could be quickly taken care of if their location was ever divined. After all, the possibility that Davis's Heavenly Tribulation caused a spatial tunnel to appear between these two spaces was higher, so according to causation, fate should be against him now since they have entered.
Quickly, she began casting a spirit formation on Davis.
Davis saw the ray of the resplendent light shower around him. He recognized that it was a spirit formation. However, he didn't feel hostile intent, continuing to explain to the people about the formation expert despite their strange looks.
Myria also saw that he was not bothered despite her strange actions. Was he not worried that she would do something to him even after what she did?
A complicated light emerged in her eyes before she lowered her gaze, not knowing if this would even be effective.
"I'm concealing your presence from being divined."
A soul transmission fell in his mind. His lips curled into a light smile, and soon, he finished clearing up the situation.
"So we're in an illusion formation now?" Vereina seemed bummed out, "I wish we could've avoided that man's trap."
Her voice appeared to be tired already.
"There was no killing intent in that move, so naturally, our reactions were all delayed." Fairy Thunderblaze replied.
"What if there was a deadly trap here? Wouldn't we have died?"
"It doesn't work that way, my dear. If the formation expert knew that the other side of the teleportation was a death trap, then he would've exuded killing intent even if he didn't want to as he would subconsciously understand that he's sending us to our deaths."
"However, it's possible for him to suppress his killing intent, but that kind of focus is achieved by certain individuals like top-tier assassins and, perhaps, your man himself..."
"He's not my man..."
Vereina corrected while Fairy Thunderblaze simply smiled, "My apologies. It's hard to tell when you can kick him and walk away freely."
"…"
Vereina's expression reeled about being reminded of that kick. She sneakily glanced at Davis, wondering if he was offended but saw him looking at the other disciples of the Aurora Cloud Gate.
"Who are you four? Let's introduce ourselves before we move out."
Davis asked with a smile. He could sense a strong pressure from at least two of them, wanting to rule out the possibility that the four of them were not controlled by anyone.
"Greetings, Emperor of Death. I have been secluded for the past twenty years but heard about you from my master when I stepped out."
A man clad in brown robes cupped his hands.
This man stood tall, his figure wrapped in a flowing brown robe that gracefully cascaded down to his feet. The fabric, rich in texture, whispered softly with each step he took as he appeared a few steps closer. Its earthy hue complemented his commanding presence, evoking a sense of warmth and comfort.
His face, adorned with a well-groomed beard, showcased strikingly handsome features. His strong jawline accentuated his firm presence while a warm smile graced his lips, revealing a charm that effortlessly put others at ease. His eyes, a deep shade of hazel, glimmered with intelligence and kindness.
"You are…?"
"Maximus Wolfbane, a personal disciple of Guardian Elysian Veritas."
Davis raised his brows at this person's answer.
Guardian Elysian Veritas was a true erudite person who knew most things about the First Haven World as he was in charge of the hidden Research Department and was truly strong. If Maximus Wolfbane was his personal disciple, then he guessed that he was also a Divergent.
"Likewise, a personal disciple of Guardian Ryheris Yilan, Orion Chestwave."
The other person that Davis felt careful of opened his mouth but didn't greet with his hands cupped.
This man stood tall in a flamboyant purple robe, his face displaying arrogant features with a piercing gaze and a thin smirk. His confident demeanor and extravagant attire exuded an air of superiority, making it clear that he believed himself to be above others.
Davis knew that Guardian Ryheris Yilan was the Guardian of the Administration Department. He appeared to be a kind old man but his personal disciple, not so much. Nevertheless, for Orion Chestwave to be that person's disciple, it made him believe that he was also a Divergent.
"Magnus Irvin, ranked fourth in True Disciple Immortal King Rankings, a Forge Emperor."
"Asher Mooncrest, ranked nine in True Disciple Immortal King Rankings, an Alchemist Emperor."
The other two men also introduced themselves as they cupped their hands, the former clad in crimson while the latter in white, appearing both luxurious and seasoned as they possessed calm yet knowledgeable eyes.
"Davis Loret, also called the Emperor of Death for various reasons."
Davis cupped his hands back, returning the gesture. However, turning to look around, his brows twitched as he saw Myria, Vereina, Orion Chestwave, and Maximus Wolfbane before focusing back on himself.
'Not good… too many Divergents in one place…'
There were three Divergents and two Anarchic Divergents gathered together, not to mention Fairy Thunderblaze, who was most likely an Anarchic Divergent, causing Davis to not know what kind of fuckery he would be facing from here on out.
