"Last time I had heard about the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm was when it was said that it was nearing its end within a few million years or so."
Myria uttered in a questionable tone, causing Davis to blink.
"What do you mean?"
A realm was nearing its end? He wanted to make sense of it but couldn't wrap his head around it.
"Every realm has a core that could be bound by any lifeform, allowing them to increase their prowess by a few levels in varying degrees depending upon the quality of the core."
"What? There is such a thing?" Davis expressed his shock over this matter.
Was this what these youngsters were after? To bind this realm to themselves? Then shouldn't that mean the two Upper Realms who owned this Minor Realm were in a precarious situation for youngsters from other realms to be running about like this?
"Indeed, it works in a way that allows a lifeform to become the realm's owner as it provides them with the power of the world as long as they remain inside the realm. Therefore, most Realm Masters are infallible, rarely facing a fall within their own realm. After all, they would usually be one of the strongest cultivators in their stage, and adding onto the realm's own power, they would be practically invincible within the realm."
"So, is there a Realm Master of this Minor Realm?"
Davis asked. As soon as he knew of this matter, he imagined this so-called Realm Master would be his greatest threat.
"There is. Minor Realms can only be bound by Immortal King level existences, but I'm not sure who the Realm Master is as the Realm Master would change from time to time as this Minor Realm is in the hands of two Upper Realms."
Myria's voice was full of confusion, "The fact that there are other powers here trying to kill others doesn't make sense either, as the Astral Pill Upper Realm and Forgeheart Peak Upper Realm are both distinguished and highly respectable Upper Realms that have raked in many favors from the other Upper Realms and even the only Greater Realm in our possession, so no power would dare to offend them."
"…"
Numerous questions popped into Davis's head. He knew the names of a few realms while most were still scrambled, unable to be seen through properly, including the only Greater Realm in the human race's possession.
He didn't even know what other races occupied which realms, all convoluted, still making him full of curiosity over the structure of the true immortal world.
Nonetheless, his priority was to still find the purpose of these youngsters being out here so that he could maneuver accordingly.
"Do you know what this Minor Realm is used for by the two Upper Realms?"
Myria responded, "Of course, the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm is one of their recruiting and training grounds, as the two Upper Realms are also in control of other Minor Realms. They have millions of disciples with them and billions of workers living in their Upper Realms and Minor Realms, causing competition and rivalry to be heavy-handed and, at times, even resulting in wars between branches. Regardless, as far as I know, these two Upper Realms never allowed anyone inside their training grounds."
"In all right, the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm should also be occupied by their people, so it's probable that we're just in the outskirts and had a coincidental encounter with the disciples from the Crimson Pathflame Lower Realm trying to infiltrate this realm but looking at how they talked in a carefree manner, appearing to not mind the possibility of being hunted down by the officials present here, I think it is likely that they have received permission to enter."
"I see, but you still think they won't dare intrude into this Minor Realm?"
"Yes."
Myria nodded, causing Davis to think. The answers could be found in the next few rounds of soulscouring the minds of the Crimson Pathflame Lower Realm's disciples, but he'd like to speculate why they were all here through the little clues available if possible, as it was not a given these youths knew why they were truly here.
He took in the factor that they could have reached here after being fooled as well as this Minor Realm or a part of the space within that Minor Realm seems to only allow Immortal Kings and under to enter, making him believe this was a trial ground of some sort.
In fact, Myria also felt the same, but she could not wrap her head around how the disciples of other powers were here.
Did the Minor Realm change hands?
"…"
Lea and the others could only listen. Other than Bing Luli, who knew a bit about the true immortal world, the others were full of confusion as they heard the two speak back and forth.
Seeing their plight, Davis came out of his reverie and allowed Lea and the others to catch up to the matters they had learned.
They were shocked to learn the vastness of the true immortal world, not expecting it to be divided into three layers.
What Davis learned wasn't just the name of this Minor Realms and a few other realms and their size but also the intricacies surrounding it.
There was no ascension factor present.
All the denizens from the Minor Realms could traverse to the topmost Greater Realm as long as they could find a spatial node to the upper layer, which was plenty. However, going down was even more difficult as the spatial nodes for entering lower layers were rare and only accommodated till a certain limit, meaning finding a spatial node that could allow an Empyrean to enter a Lower Realm was almost impossible.
However, it wasn't like all Minor Realms were interconnected with one another. It is the same case for Lower Realms and Upper Realms, although different.
In what way Lower Realms and Upper Realms were different from Minor Realms?
It was because of the Greater Realms present in the uppermost layer, the first layer. They held everything together underneath them.
Only from these Greater Realms could one possibly traverse to the Upper Realms and Lower Realms interconnected with it amidst the three layers of space.
"I… I don't understand…"
Bylai raised her hand, causing Davis to explain again.
"You see-"
