Chapter 3836 Inwardly Determined?
Boom!~
Tanya shot into the room, her icy sword leaping out of her dantian as she grasped it and dashed towards her husband. However, she came to a stop as she saw no one there.
Davis sat up, blinking at Tanya.
"Did I startle you?"
"You startled everyone."
Hearing Davis's question, Tanya simultaneously realized that there was no intruder and that it was just Davis releasing his killing intent.
"I thought someone broke in to assassinate you."
She shook her head, informing Stella that nothing was of concern, as the latter was alarmed but still kept an eye outside.
"Well," Davis pursed his lips before leaning back on the bed again, "I admit that it was unlike me to exude killing intent without an opponent present. I guess I lost my composure."
He chuckled wryly, sitting back up again, "Alright, if you don't mind, I'll use the Solitary Soul Avatar Technique and create a new avatar. At that time, I would feel extremely exhausted, so I would go to sleep even without anyone having to remind me again and again. At that time, I'll rely on you to protect me."
"Of course~" Tanya finally smiled, "Why would I mind? It would be my pleasure to guard you."
"You're making me feel embarassed..."
Davis rubbed his head as he smiled lightly, "Tanya, I love how powerful you and the others are. It drastically decreases my burden, but that shouldn't be my excuse to slack. I should be the one outside, keeping an eye. I should be the one quelling the troubles as the leader of the family. Otherwise, I should just abdicate the throne."
"My love~"
Tanya kept her sword inside her dantian and walked towards him, arriving at the edge of the bed before she gazed at him with a gentle gaze.
"You're too hard on yourself. I still remember how powerful you were, and that hasn't changed just because we got powerful. It's only a matter of time and place before you become an Immortal Emperor and not a single one of us can match you again. I'm looking forward to it, so you could motivate us to surpass you once again."
"..."
Davis didn't reply to Tanya's praiseworthy and consoling words but kept smiling.
It was unknown if he would ever get the chance to ascend to the Immortal Emperor Stage when it mattered the most. Otherwise, would it matter if he became powerful and had nothing to protect?
It would be Tia's storybook all over again.
He wanted to avoid such a future, so he didn't dare rashly make a move to go save his friends either.
Tanya didn't leave. She pondered for a moment before she sat on the edge of the bed, reaching out her hand to grab his hand. She knew he was feeling down because he couldn't go save his friends or, otherwise, would endanger them all.
The situation was quite crappy—no, it was a double-edged sword situation, or perhaps a triple-edge with the third being on the handle?
Do nothing, and the blade will weigh in time and pierce one's own palm. She didn't have Heart intent, but she could tell his heart was slowly being pierced through even without having to take a single step, as not doing anything would mean abandoning them.
"Should I... try calling my master?" She offered.
"The Frostcloud Sword Empress...?" Davis didn't look taken aback, as though he had already considered this, "You must know that she's also a Divergent. If she comes out, she will be hunted too. I've been marked as an extreme threat, and even High-Level Empyreans and Autarchs are searching for me. You would be implicating your master."
However, he wanted her to relax.
"Let's make love, Tanya. You don't need to care about what others think, nor do you need to think you're avoiding your responsibility. I'll ask Isabella to keep an eye out. I want you now."
Tanya's eyes widened in surprise, as she had never seen him so demanding, her cheeks flushing with a mix of desire and hesitation.
"I...I don't know, my love," she stammered, torn between her duty and her own desires.
She couldn't bear to look into the eyes of others if the ship were to be assailed by some kind of threat, and she wasn't there to quickly deal with it.
Davis gently took her hand, reassuring her with a soft smile.
"I'll ask Evelynn too."
"But they..."
Tanya's face reddened more. How could she have her big sisters guard the ship while she was inside, receiving pleasure? It was a serious breach of hierarchy, leading to discontentment.
"You think they're that easily shaken?"
"No... but..."
Davis closed her mouth with a kiss before he took out a messaging talisman.
"Evelynn, can you guard the flying ship for me along with Isabella? I'm having Tanya for a while."
The messaging talisman lost its glow before it flashed once again.
"That's great!~ I'm glad you're back to your old self quickly, you rogue~"
Evelynn sounded overjoyed.
The worst thing she feared right now was him wallowing him in despair, but if he was going after women, then that means that he already came to a conclusion as he wasn't the type to throw himself at his wives without being sound in mind.
She even heard how he was worried about them during the Candidacy and couldn't bring himself to be intimate with the other wives until he saw they were all safe and the others pushed him into the bedroom.
To her, it didn't matter if he decided to abandon them or had come across a unique plan to save them. All she wanted was for him to be happy with the family he created. Otherwise, what's the point of her allowing so many women in his life when she could make things hard for him with how obsessed he was with her?
She assured him she would return to the flying ship and continue the guard duty with Isabella.
"Hahaha! Great~"
Davis looked joyous before he threw the messaging talisman inside.
It was true that they would be upset if he took Tanya in these tumultuous times, but fortunately, he made love with them before they left, so chances were that they were now full of benevolence to reward their little sisters.
Thinking that, Davis's gaze fell on his sumptuous Tanya.
"Say, did I forget to say how dazzling you looked when you took down Autarch Metenoa?"
"..."
Tanya blushed, feeling increasingly aroused.
