Chapter 3872 A Caged Rabbit?
"..."
The white-robed cultivator stood tall, their cloth made out of luxurious silk Davis had never seen before as it glowed underneath the sunlight. His sharp, piercing red eyes seemed to miss nothing as he surveyed their surroundings with a shrewd gaze.
"Who are you?"
Davis narrowed his eyes, not interested in fooling someone or making friends.
He didn't even care if he was found. After all, since he was here, there were significant chances he was going to be found before it was execution time. He only hoped that there was enough time until things were ready.
Until then, he needed to contain himself, but there was no need to limit himself, as he was already at his anger's peak.
"The other year, your subordinates sent me a bunch of jade beauties. I must say, I was satisfied with the goods. Let me know if you have more."
"Sure."
Davis smiled, but with the bald man that he is now due to Karmic Impersonation, his smile couldn't be anymore wretched.
He didn't wear a hood on the black robe because all hoods and masks for men are banned right now. There was the case of women wearing veils, but none believed he was shameless enough to transform into a woman despite loving them.
Davis can understand the thought process behind that, but he took on this bandit persona since if he did make trouble before the execution time, it would be easier to slip away.
He even thought that if he had brought Zanqua along, it would've been perfect.
"That's right. I know you're interested in bunny girls. The other day, my Opulent Shell Company caught a Peak-Level Immortal Emperor rabbit magical beast. Hehe, she came looking for the Divine Emperor of Death but was caught. She would be auctioned within a month for a high price. Perhaps I can reserve a seat for you in the auction if you'd like."
"..."
Davis couldn't help but blink.
"She's a Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit, isn't she?"
"Damn, as expected of a rabbit enthusiast. You know her back story, don't you? Of course, she was fated to die but was allowed to escape by the Divine Emperor of Death from the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm. Rumor had it she went back to the Ivory Moon Sanctuary Lower Realm to find her Lunarisse Empire's Empress but failed to and eventually tried to seek the Divine Emperor of Death in the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm only to be caught a few days ago. Because she's a magical beast who was a prisoner of the great genius gathering from all the realms in the Third Layer and Second Layer, her price has gone up. If she survived them, then she could survive more. It has brought so many interested parties into the fray. I doubt you'd be able to buy her even with your bandit empire, but you can try."
The white-robed man went off. His mouth didn't stop until he finally sneered, looking down on him.
"...!"
It made Davis furious as he turned to look back and almost scowled.
"What?"
He barely stopped himself from lashing out with death energy.
"Uhm... When do you think you could send me the next batch...? This time, I would like feys who have even more anthropomorphic features, but make sure their bloodline is more pure."
"..."
Davis glared at him with a bright smile. The urge to slap was huge.
After some time, Davis appeared before the edge of the core region.
He revealed himself, wondering if the powerful Empyreans and Autarchs would spot him, but the crowd was so huge that he doubted anyone could focus on him if they weren't specifically looking for Bandit Emperor Rekan Lockette in the crowd.
Nonetheless, he didn't care and looked at the faces of his friends.
His heart sank as he saw they were a husk of what they were, making him wonder what kind of humiliation they went through for him.
A question popped in his head.
Why didn't they just say that they weren't friends with him and were just forced to participate in his nonsense? At least, they wouldn't have been brought to the execution stage and would only be imprisoned.
He couldn't help but take a step forward when a voice fell.
"Don't."
Abruptly, a female voice echoed from his side, shocking him.
'Lunaria...?'
Davis didn't turn, but the fact that she recognized him in his disguise could only mean that she had broken through to the Empyrean Stage!
How!? She was also an Anarchic Divergent, no?
