C24 – Was the Sorcerer Really That Strong?
“Hiss!”
“An Ice Type Mage!”
“He’s already wielded fire and wind, and now he’s surprising us with a rare Ice Type! Who exactly is this man?”
“Why would someone of his caliber be expelled from the Imperial City?”
The merchants and nobles exchanged bewildered glances as the battle unfolded in a completely lopsided manner.
After immobilizing half of Jiaang Guangran’s body in ice, Choo Qin’s chilling presence advanced toward the mages who had attacked him, causing their spells to be interrupted and backfire.
“Humph! Choo Qin! Don’t think you can do whatever you please just because you’re royalty. What does it matter if you’re an Ice Type Mage? If you’re brave enough, kill me!”
Jiaang Guangran’s eyes were bloodshot. The welcome party he had orchestrated was now entirely beyond his control.
Far from subduing Choo Qin, he had utterly lost face.
He was bordering on madness, spewing curses uncontrollably and completely forsaking the decorum expected of a noble.
“Do you honestly believe I wouldn’t dare to kill you?”
Choo Qin regarded Jiaang Guangran with an icy stare as an Icicle formed in his grasp.
Suddenly, from Choo Qin’s detached gaze, Jiaang Guangran realized the gravity of his predicament.
“I’ve waited for you for so long. Must I really harm so many before you decide to act? Is it enjoyable for you to just sit back and watch?”
Choo Qin shrugged his shoulders, looking amusedly at the grey-clad elder.
He had been aware of the Sorcerer’s presence for some time, but the elder had been hesitant to engage. Choo Qin felt it would be impolite to force the issue.
Yet, in Choo Qin’s eyes, the Sorcerer had already been marked as easy prey.
This was like a treasure trove of skills!
Elder Qiao’s eyes bulged. He had assumed that the younger man would back down at the sight of a Sorcerer.
But Choo Qin showed no inclination to defer to him.
What was this about dying by accident?
That hit a nerve for Qiao Guan.
He had been stuck as an eighth-level Sorcerer for nearly a decade, and with his life drawing to a close, a breakthrough was essential to avoid the fate of old age.
“Come on then! Less talk, more action, especially at your age. I’ve been waiting for you!”
“Rest assured, I’ll spare your dignity. Three moves—will that suffice? I’ll have you defeated within three moves.”
Choo Qin kept up his taunting stance towards Elder Qiao. After all, he held no fondness for the Jiaang family.
A bit more provocation might reveal even stronger skills, and then he could pursue a Sorcerer’s certification.
Wouldn’t that be delightful?
