Chapter 2

Takami no Kago – Chapter 2

It’s been a week since I came to this world .

At first, I thought everything was just a dream, but it wasn’t .

As for what I’ve learned this past week:

I learned that the city I’m in is Brett, a city from Angel continent,

the value of the coins in my leather bag,

and the fact that I’ve become an [adventurer] .

It seems Brett is a fortified city, having its periphery enclosed by stone wall . Located roughly in the middle of the Angel continent, it’s part of a kingdom with the same name as the continent, the Angel kingdom .

And the coins that are used as currency in this world are copper coin, big copper coin, silver coin, big silver coin, gold coin, and big gold coins .

By the way, 1 copper coin is equal to 10 Gal .

And what I have in my leather bag are:

6 copper coins

8 big copper coins

3 silver coins

1 big silver coin

3 gold coins

Altogether, it was a total of 31,386 Gal .

After living here for a week, I concluded that 1 Gal is about 100 yen .

If I were to convert it to JPY, voila, the fact that 3 million yen could easily be stuffed in a leather bag scared me .

Though I was doing fine with my current living expenses, with zero income, I’ll run out of money eventually .

As I look for something that could be my source income, I found this [adventurer] job .

Adventurers make a living by completing missions from the guild .

As for the content of the missions, it varied .

Obviously there’s the monster subjugations, but there are even babysitting or public works construction requests, many jobs are pouring in .

Above all that, when you sign up in the Adventurer’s Guild, the guild will ensure your ID .

Since I can’t think of any other, better jobs, I sign up immediately, and came to light that this world is undoubtedly another world .

Firstly, in this world, [Jobs] exist .

When I registered, my [Job] was set as Swordsman, and it seems, the [Job] is already decided innately .

Though it’s possible to change the [Job] you’ve been given at birth, it’d take a long time .

Also, the so called demi-human, a race beside human, exists in this world .

While it’s not something you could see often in Angel Kingdom, there are still some places that firmly discriminate against demi-humans .

Now then, there are many things I’ve learned this past week, but the most astonishing is my [Divine Protection] .

While it was automatically checked upon signing up for the guild, it seems I had presents from the Gods called [Divine Protection] .

I heard the people who received [Divine Protection] are little to none, and nearly all who have [Divine Protection] will stood out as genius in certain areas .

People, who have a [Divine Protection], will have [Divine Protection] inscribe on their guild card, but only the person in question could know what kind of [Divine Protection] they got .

Well, as for my [Divine Protection]…

Wow, it’s a cheat status!

When I checked my own parameters, all statuses, such as Atk and Agi, have ‘(+#)’ beside it .

I not only don’t know what my original status is, I don’t know how much my status rises too .

For the time being though, there’s nothing that could give me any threat in town .

So, I went to forest near town in the morning, killing monsters in a flash, went back to town in the evening, and sold the dropped items to the guild .

I repeating that activity day after day, until a certain day when I was on my way back from selling items to the guild, something happened .
