C151 – Awakened the Superpower

A few hours later, Loong Chen lay on a makeshift bed and gazed up at the ceiling.

During these few hours, he finally grasped the dire situation he was in.

It marked the third day since the apocalypse began. This city was profoundly impacted due to its international status.

Individuals from the western continent introduced the zombie virus into this city. In a single night, hundreds of thousands of people transformed into zombies.

The city lay in ruins.

Loong Ming, the city’s special forces captain, led his troops in rescuing survivors, but they found themselves encircled by waves of undead.

Eventually, after losing more than half of their soldiers, they managed to escape and sought refuge in the gymnasium.

This gymnasium became their temporary sanctuary.

Presently, aside from the military personnel, there were hundreds of survivors.

Regrettably, their supplies of food and ammunition were insufficient, with their endurance lasting no more than three days.

When Loong Ming ventured outside in search of provisions, he encountered Loong Chen.

Loong Chen, devoid of any wounds or bites from zombies, eliminated the possibility of infection.

Consequently, Loong Ming brought him into the shelter.

Initially, the survivors unanimously rejected Loong Chen’s entry. After all, their resources were already stretched thin, and one more person meant added strain.

In the end, Loong Ming permitted Loong Chen to stay. His decision was driven by a peculiar resemblance he saw in Loong Chen, though the exact reason remained unclear.

“My spiritual energy is completely depleted, so I can’t utilize my special ability. I must wait for my spiritual energy to recover.”

Loong Chen let out a deep sigh, then shut his eyes and entered a semi-dormant state.

He could replenish his spiritual energy during this dormant state, but he still needed to remain vigilant, just in case.

Loong Chen had no idea how long he had slept, but he was eventually awakened by a loud commotion.

He opened his eyes and was immediately taken aback by what he saw.

Flames surrounded him, and a person engulfed in those flames was laughing triumphantly at the sky.

“I possess an extraordinary talent now. I am the one in charge here!”

The individual burst into hearty laughter. Despite being enveloped in flames, the fire seemed incapable of harming him.

Loong Chen narrowed his eyes, recognizing that this man had unlocked the extraordinary talent related to fire.

“Someone has actually awakened an extraordinary talent?”

Loong Chen was astonished. With the advent of the apocalypse, many people felt an overwhelming mental burden.

Some succumbed to the pressure, while others persevered and eventually unlocked their extraordinary talents.

The person before him had awakened their extraordinary talent in response to this mental strain.

“Please sit down and extinguish those flames. We don’t want anyone else getting hurt!”

Flame Man coldly snorted and hurled a fireball at Loong Ming.

Loong Ming managed to evade the fireball itself, but he suffered burns from the intense heat and tumbled to the ground.

“What are my intentions? You’ll find out in due time.”

Flame Man advanced toward Jing Yan, wearing a lecherous grin. Jing Yan’s expression underwent a dramatic change as she continuously retreated.

Flame Man sneered, conjuring another fireball into his hand.

He adopted a threatening tone in his voice.

“It would be wise not to resist. Otherwise, both you and him will face death.”

Flame Man pointed at Jing Yan and Loong Ming, then raised the fireball in his hand.

“You scoundrel, I’ll end you!”

Loong Ming’s eyes blazed with anger. He disregarded the danger and charged toward Flame Man.

Flame Man wore a disdainful smile and hurled the fireball from his hand at Loong Ming.

“No!”

Jing Yan exclaimed when she witnessed this. The fireball rapidly hurtled toward Loong Ming, but Loong Ming didn’t even attempt to evade it.

Just as the fireball was about to strike Loong Ming, a silhouette materialized in front of him.

The fireball collided with the figure.

To the astonishment of the onlookers, the figure actually caught the fireball and casually compressed it.

The fireball disintegrated into sparks and vanished, leaving the crowd dumbfounded.

“How is this possible?”

Flame Man exclaimed. Not just him, but everyone present stood in shock.

Jing Yan, in particular, instinctively turned her head toward the bed. At that moment, Loong Chen was no longer on the bed; instead, he stood before Loong Ming.

In the blink of an eye, he traversed the ten meters from the bed and positioned himself in front of Loong Ming, successfully intercepting the fireball.

This was utterly unbelievable.

“Your extraordinary talent was awakened by the benevolence of the heavens. Sadly, you fail to appreciate it, choosing instead to employ it for nefarious deeds.”

Loong Chen spoke calmly, but in the next instant, a chilling, murderous intent gleamed in his eyes.

“In that case, I shall act on behalf of the heavens and bring you to justice.”

With the words barely escaping his lips, Loong Chen transformed into a blur, instantly appearing in front of Flame Man.

He then grasped Flame Man by the neck and raised him high off the ground.

Flame Man struggled to breathe, his face turning crimson.

His entire body emitted fierce flames, attempting to incinerate Loong Chen.

However, to Loong Chen, these flames seemed as insubstantial as an illusion.
