Chapter 6093: Falling Dragon Scales
Witch King and the others were fast enough to grab one scale each. Unfortunately, they had varying levels of injuries from the lightning bolts.
The only one to fail was Golden Flower Emperor whose scale fell down near Li Qiye. She nearly vomited blood from anger.
She made the first move and endured the brunt of the dragon’s rage. Alas, she gained nothing.
She thought about making a move again but that would just have the same outcome, her having the full attention of the dragon.
The others smartly observed the situation again, hoping another cultivator would attract the dragon’s attention. Stagnation became the result due to the risk and lack of rewards for going first.
“Raa!” Heavenly Wrath circled the plain, seemingly finding a weak spot to escape from the temple.
Unfortunately, the entire plain was one piece along with the temple. It became frustrated, shackled by its tribulation lightning bolts. Thus, it flew in the direction of the ancestral well.
“This is our last chance.” Witch King had a good grasp of Armament Temple and told the others.
This sudden surge in intensity caught many off guard. Golden Flower, Dragon Pond, Ouyang Dragon God, and stronger cultivators were able to survive long enough to get back to the peaks.
“Ahh!” The same couldn’t be same for the average ancestors; bolts pierced them immediately.
Those who wanted to take advantage of the situation suffered a worse fate - being blown to pieces despite the protection of the peaks.
After waiting out the initial blast wave, Dragonform and Witch King returned for another round. They found success this time in obtaining some scales.
“Raa!” The enraged dragon no longer cared about specific targets. It looked upward and spewed out an ocean of lightning bolts that rained down on all the peaks.
Since it wasn’t focusing on anyone in particular, the potency of the bolts weakened and gave room for the apex cultivators to snatch scales.
They suffered injuries but still survived, unlike regular ancestors and experts. Nevertheless, the lucky ones continued to attack the dragon since this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Many failed to grab the scales in time since they preferred survival and kept a distance. The falling scales somehow soared through the plain and piled up near Li Qiye.
