Chapter 920: The Monster Arrives

“Hm,” Lyon opened his eyes as the light dissipated. He saw books, a lot of books neatly placed on a tall bookshelf. He glanced around and noticed an arched desk made of wood. The brown nature aesthetic was screaming at him as he found himself standing with floors made out of wood. There was one window as tall as the circular wall stretching upward as he scaled with his eyes.

“Oh, it’s night already,” said the old man principal as he looked at the stars already hovering.

“It seems like the introduction has to wait for tomorrow,” said Judsah.

“This is the Second Heaven?” said Lyon.

Judsah looked at him but his eyes didn’t show any more hostility like they used to, he nodded, “Yes. this is the Second Heaven, you… you’ve never been here?”

“This is my first time,” said Lyon as he approached the tall bookcase.

“Darling, do you want to read?” asked Selena.

“No, I don’t,” said Lyon. “I don’t like reading.”

Selena smiled before she looked at Judsah, “Is this your room?”

“This is mine,” said the old man.

“The principal’s room,” said Lyon before he jested, “How many girls have you ‘punished’ here, I wonder.”

Judsah frowned but the man in question shared laughter.

“Hahaha,” he gently caressed his beard, “You have a good joke, I’m sure you would do fine with the class.”

“What makes you think that?” Lyon raised his brows. “You give me the worst class.”

“Everyone loves a teacher that teaches with a piece of jest, surely you have experienced something like that?” Judsah uttered.

“Yes, but not necessarily,” said Lyon.

“Hahaha, oh how rude of me,” said the old man as he slapped his own forehead.

“Careful there, you might add more creases,” quickly Lyon replied.

“Hahaha, I won’t,” said the old man, “I apologize but it looks like I forgot to mention er… I meant to introduce myself.”

“Sounds more like a vicious plan, especially coming from lips that had tasted time,” said Lyon as he crossed his arms and then smirked.

“Oh please don’t do that, I come here with no harm intended,” said the old man.

“That only makes it worse, old man,” said Lyon.

“Hahaha, well, my name is Guffs and people here call me Old Gu,” said the old man.

“Alright, Old Gu,” said Lyon.

“Thank you,” said Old Gu before he smiled, “Welcome to Nirvana School, for the next six months, this will be your home.”

“Is that so,” Lyon answered as he opened his arms and stretched as he approached the tall window.

Old Gu smiled before standing right beside him. “The mountain you see, the lake you see, and the sky you see, they all belong to the Nirvana School.”

“You mean the backers of the Nirvana School,” Lyon smirked as Old Gu made a wry smile.

“Yo-You’re tongue is really sharp,” said Old Gu.

“A lot of people said that,” said Lyon.

“I’m afraid that those words may not fly correctly for the other teachers,” said Old Gu.

“I don’t care,” Lyon answered before looking at the principal, “I came here to teach your class, not your teacher.”

“Well said,” Old Gu nodded, “The introduction will start tomorrow morning.”

“You should have it at noon,” said Lyon. “I’m not exactly a morning person.”

“That won’t do,” said Judsah.

“Now, now, Judsah,” said Old Gu before smiling at Lyon. “I’m sure that introduction can be inducted at noon.”

“But principal!”

“It’s just an introduction, it doesn’t have to start once the rooster starts singing,” said Old Gu.

“Good,” Lyon nodded before he averted his glance at Judsah. “Can you show me my room?”

“C-Certainly,” said Judsah.

Lyon smiled as Selena leaned on his shoulder with their arms interlocked.

Old Gu smiled seeing the two of them off his room trailing behind Judsah. He shook his head with a wry smile, “What a frightening couple.” He pulled a thin paper from his desk before wiping the cold sweat on his forehead. “This is the first time I use it for wiping sweat.”

He sat down before he sighed as he relaxed his back. “Him coming here, would it be an answer for young master Mavis’s vision? Because that guy, no, that hero, he surely is not as what the word described.”

“Then again, the tension even amongst the teachers had grown wary,” he sighed. “They will surely pick him on and agitate him just like the previous ones, but… it will be interesting with his personality.”

Old Gu smiled before closing his eyes.

“You seem to be sleeping rather well,” A smile was seen.

“Hm!?” Old Gu snapped open his eyes with his hands shook. “Y-Young master M-Mavis!” he stood up with his back straight.

“Good Evening, Old Gu, haha!” Mavis shook his hand with vibrant energy.

“Uhh… y-yes, good evening young master Mavis,” Old Gu responded back despite the handshake that was led by Mavis till he let go.

Mavis took a deep breath with his hands on his waist before looking around, “Hah, this place sure does bring me back.”

“Y-Yes, I’m sorry that I haven’t been able to make it a bit cleaner than last time,” said Old Gu.

“Nah, it’s alright,” Mavis gestured with a wave of his hand. “This is not a bad room setup.”

“Y-Yes, thank you, young master Mavis,” said Old Gu before coming over to the table with his hands rubbing, “Is there I can do for you at this late?”

“I just want to know the answer to my curiosity,” said Mavis with a grin and slit-wide eyes.

“I shall not hide anything from you,” Old Gu nodded.

“Great! Great! Great! Hahaha!” Mavis laughed as he casually patted the back of the old timer’s shoulder.

“Y-Yes,” Old Gu nodded submissively.

“Did you fetch him from the Mortal World?” asked Mavis as he revealed his eyes.

“Y-Yes,” Old Gu nodded. “We met him in the Mortal World just as you told.”

His eyes were hidden again as he smiled, “Hahaha! That’s good! That’s good!” he slapped his back again “Amazingly he said yes though, but I guess saving his butt from the Alchemy Union makes him feel indebted, hahaha!”

“A-Alchemy Union?! Are you referring to the destruction of the tower? He was the one responsible for it?” asked Old Gu. “I-I never knew…”

“Hahaha!” Mavis laughed as he slammed his butt on his chair. He put his hands behind his head as he leaned. “Well, I will leave that to your imagination.”

“If only you could say so earlier,” said Old Gu as he sighed, “I thought it was one of the young masters.”

“It’s complicated and it’s already in the past,” said Mavis. “Besides, I take it that Judsah didn’t take it very well?”

“Hmm…” Old Gu grunted before slowly nodding, “Nothing escapes your vision, young master Mavis. Judsah is still inexperienced, he needs to see Lyon for the wake-up call.”

“That’s good,” Mavis nodded, “So Lyon didn’t take it easy on him right? Hahaha.”

“H-He did.”

“Hahaha, what do you think?” asked Mavis.

“About what?”

“About Lyon.”

Old Gu took a breath to calm himself before revealing his sharp eyes, “He’s a monster.”

Mavis grinned before pushing his hand against the armrest to stand up. “Good answer.”

“But, young master, how come someone like him grew that exponentially strong without a single notice?” asked Old Gu. He knew despite his position, the young man in front of him had a far wider network. The name of this young man was heavier than his power.

“I wish I knew,” Mavis grinned. “There is nothing but mysteriousness about him or his friends.” ( They knew the Sky Scripture, and I have no idea who they truly are… ).

“O-Oh…” Old Gu slightly frowned. ( Even he doesn’t know him? Heh, looks like I’m being used here ).

“However,” Mavis raised his brows as he approached the window. “All I know is that he is a monster.”

Old Gu followed suit and then stood beside him. He looked down before his eyes opened wide in a tremble. His body shook from the rapid rise of his goosebumps.

“Heh,” Mavis smirked, “Indeed, a monster, and I’m afraid I still don’t know the true length of his power yet,” Mavis waved his hand.

Down below the window was a courtyard of the Nirvana School, vastly patched in greenery but not a single tree. The whole stars were shining down on them and there were three people at the center, and one of them kept walking forward leaving the other two.

Meanwhile, the couple paused and turned around with their heads facing up. Lyon pointed his finger at the tall window with a smirk on his face.

( Hmm? I’ve never seen that woman before, black hair with blue eyes… ) Mavis frowned before he noticed a twitch in Selena’s eyes.

“Hm?!” His eyes snapped open before he noticed something was hitting the window light enough to make a small crack.

“Young master—”

Mavis stopped him from uttering another word with his hand against the chest, his eyes looking at the crack in front. His breath was panting but he was smiling, “A soft crack, a sign of absolute control… It’s also the sign I need to go home,” he nodded.

Old Gu had his lips parted in disbelief.
