CHAPTER 17
Seated in one of the big cushions in the Bai Residence was the new madam of the house, Fang Mei, Mr Bai Beifang's mistress turned wife.
"Hello," she greeted, leaning her back against the chair properly with crossed legs together while subconsciously dangling one on top.
"Good day ma. How may I help you?" a feminine voice responded.
"What is the status report for me?"
"Well, ma'am. Umm, she came here yesterday to cause trouble."
"I see. Beatrice, why did you not inform me of this on time?"
"My mistake. I did not see it as anything."
"What trouble?" She kneaded her brows while her eyes turned cold at the thought.
"Termination of Contract."
Hearing that, a peal of cold laughter tore through her lips with no smile forming on her young face. "Termination of Contract? Has Andromeda gone stupid or what? Who terminates a contract that she knows would be her saving grace? Hmm."
"Same idea I got."
"What was his reaction when she said that?"
"He tried to play her into believing he loved her but I think she saw right through it. She caught us making out."
"Hahhaa, she is just jealous. Anyways, this is good. I am one step in my mission to ruining her completely."
"Sure ma. With this, no one would recognize her now," Beatrice assured.
"Yes. And to make matters good. Why not release information on social media about how she tried to ruin the company's image by standing her fiancé up. That would be good news," Fang Mei advised.
"Sure ma. I would hear what he would say then I would initiate the plan. We may need to take things slow if we would use her again."
"I see. Anyways, be careful. Something has changed about that girl. She spoke rudely to us. Usually, she bottled up her feelings but this time she did. Who knows, she may rebel."
"No matter how the wind howls, mountain cannot bow to it. Andromeda may try but, she would bow to me."
"That is why I like you, Beatrice. You are very capable. Have a nice day. Keep me posted on time about situations, understood?"
"Got it. Have a nice day." She ended the call, placing her earphones down as she rested her head on the edge of the chair in her office.
"Hmm. If not that she is the new wife of Mr Bai. I would not be her lapgop. But I must admit, working with her has its use. And now I get paid. Andromeda, I have plans for you but you won't be liking it."
****
Waking up that morning with a headache was highly predictable but not without first checking that the mad man was no longer at her doorstep.
"Urgh!" she groaned out while scratching her eyes with the back of her hand. "What an annoying night."
Her gaze swept through her living room and then trailed down to the entrance of her room.
She had been so turned the previous day that she began undressing and flinging her outfit on the floor like some lovestruck teen making love.
She squeaked her eyes clean again before leaving them wide open as realization dawned on her.
"Damn it." She dropped both hands lazily down at her side. "This is why I must move out of this apartment to give my brain the rest it needs. This cannot happen when I have resumed work. I just need to flee from that idiot."
With that, she bent down and got to work cleaning up her apartment. Once she was done, she took her bath, brushed her teeth and made breakfast for herself.
As soon as she was done with her usual Saturday routine, she heaved a deep sigh and fell backwards on the cushion.
No sooner had she shut her eyes to rest than her phone began to ring at her side.
Instinctively, she picked it up and without looking at the caller answered the call.
"My darling Andromeda. I cannot believe what you did to me yesterday." Her eyes flew open instantly.
Really? What was with this man?
"You know I love you. Please come back o the company. Come and let us talk. Lunch…"
"Stop. Never call me again either."
He did not get to stop her before she ended the call and searched for the block number icon on her phone and clicked on it.
"Good riddance."
She dropped her phone to her side again and rested her head back as she went into meditating mode.
About three minutes later, her phone began to buzz on the chair, sending vibrations from her ass up to her body. She jolted up from the shock and angrily slammed it face down on the couch and resumed her meditation.
GRRRR!
She felt it again. Two things reigned in her mind. One was the fact that Wu Bai was calling with another number and the second was that he hacked her phone and unblocked himself.
Out of the two possible news, only one thing for her to do. Answer it and yell.
She turned her phone around, answered the call and yelled into the phone.
"Hey, Wu Bai! You better leave me alone. Or I would get a restraining order and…"
"What the hell did I do to you?" A familiar voice asked in a shocked manner.
He had been calling her but got no response and was trying to ask her about the house when she screamed at him.
"Wait," she sprang up, sitting out on the couch. "Gu Jun, is that you?"
"Who else would it be?"
"Oh my!" She placed her hand over her mouth while cringing in embarrassment.
"You better not be doing that thing with your eyes," Gu Jun warned.
She released her face and pursed her lips. They were friends since high school and although he studied in Paris, she was at a different university. However, their friend lasted.
"Sigh, I did not know you were the one. Besides, why call me with an unknown number?"
"I see you have now turned blind after drinking yesterday. How the hell is my number an unknown number?"
"I…I-I." She let out another exhausted sigh and pulled the phone from her ear to check the number.
This time around, she facepalmed herself. "Good. I am just tired. Forgive me. You called about the house?"
"Yes. I found you the perfect match. Although it is expensive and well, where the rich of the rich lives. The Universal Gold Pearl."
"The uni what!"
"You heard me."
"Damn right I did. But it is going to be much! Do I look like a CEO to you?"
