Chapter 20 Cursed Men

CHAPTER 20

The longer she sipped her drink so freely, completely unaware of the numerous eyes on her, the more enticing the guys felt when they watched her.

"Wow, Xueyi, since you do not want her, allow us to go after her," Tang Yan pleaded, giving Lui Xueyi his best puppy dog eyes.

"No."

"Oh come on," Rong Bolin complained. "You do not want her. If she is single then let us have her."

"As single as she is, she deserves better."

"Ouch!" Rong Bolin placed a hand over his chest as he rubbed carefully. "You hurt our feelings this time."

"Speak for yourself, Bolin. I am not hurt by his words," Chu Feng Jin Corrected.

"What!"

"Yes. Whether she is in a relationship or not. I would go after her and make her fall in love with me." The second the words fell out of his mouth, he stood up and was about to take a step in her direction.

No sooner had his first foot been lifted off the ground than he felt a tug, pulling him by the collar of his shirt and sending him flying back to his seat.

"Not on my watch. Good thing she is mine."

"Huh?" All heads turned to face him. It was one thing for him to state such a statement and another thing to be serious about it.

Their eyes widened, searching his eyes for any form of lies but they could not find any.

"She is my top fashion designer I mean," he corrected quickly. However, that knowing look never left their eyes.

"Is there something you are not telling us, Liu Xueyi?"

"Nothing."

"Hmm. Are you sure your dealings with this lady are just so simple?"

"Very. Now stop talking about her and talk about something else." He averted her gaze from her, hoping they too would lose interest and ignore her.

Just as he had predicted, several other topics came up and they forget about her. However, on the other hand, he did not forget and kept on stealing glances at her.

Soon, an hour passed by and she was down to the third bottle of drink. He raised a brow at her when she took the third bottle from the bartender.

Seeing her indulge herself like that when her tolerance was low made him feel different.

Balling his fist at his side, Liu Xueyi forgot that his hand was raised and relaxed on the left harm chair and anyone could see his reaction.

He narrowed his eyes at her while his lips parted briefly. The free-falling of his front hair over his left eye, made him look like a charming death god.

"Why not go to her if you are that worried?" Xu Fang suggested out of the blue. His words had caught Liu Xueyi and the others off guard.

"What?"

"You have been stealing glances at her since and only at the fortieth hour did you throw caution to the wind and fixed your eyes on her."

"I did no…"

"No need to deny it. Go stay with her and protect those small monkeys from disturbing your top fashion designer," Xu Fang urged.

Left to him, anything or anyone that can help lift their friend from his long-time sadness was something he welcomed.

Although Liu Xueyi did not drink often, he did not disregard his friends, and just like this moment, they were tipsy while his eyes were clear.

Without uttering a word to anyone, he did as he was advised and stood up.

Soon enough he came to stand beside her but she did not utter a word to him. Rather she sipped her drink peacefully.

"Gosh, those scumbags. After all, I did for him, hmm," she scoffed and brought the bottle to her lips again. "He did that."

"Hmm… Why am I the one feeling gloomy and thinking about it when that snake is still conniving?" She hissed out and lifted her bottle of drink to her mouth and surprisingly it was empty.

"Damn. Bartender," she fully faced him, ignoring the man standing by her side. Nobody mattered to her at that moment but her sorrow.

She had not come out to think about the past but somehow when she was there and she saw couples making out and flirting with each other, it made her feel lonely.

And worst, it brought back the bad memories. That was when for the first time, she felt truly pained for the injustice she had suffered.

In other to mask it up, she drowned her sorrows with drinks.

Obeying her, he uncorked a bottle for her and passed it one. Just as she opened her palms to catch it, a hand intercepted, snatching the drink away.

"Hey!" She turned her gaze at him and was about to scream when she felt the side face of the person was familiar.

By now all she saw were blurry a bit but it did not matter. She shook her head, clearing her eyes as she pursed her lips into a thin line.

"Bartender, since this mister wants this, give me another one."

"Yes, Miss."

"No."

"Huh?"

"I said no. She won't be drinking anymore tonight."

Angry, Andromeda opened her small purse and took out some money then dropped it in front of the bartender.

"He is not my father, even if he is, I still would not answer to him." Liu Xueyi smiled and stretched his hand to his side. Soon one of his men came and handed him two bundles of money.

"Pour me a glass of strong wine. This should cover well for all my drinks and the rest is yours," Andromeda challenged. "You are here for business aren't you?"

Tempted by the money he was about to take it when a bundle of cash dropped in front of him.

"Here. Do not serve anything to her."

"Yes sir," The bartender took Liu Xueyi's money off the counter and went about his other business.

Noticing her defeat, she rolled her eyes at him and took her money back. "Not a pervert but a pest. I must be cursed with my poor luck in men I stumble upon."

His brows raised further at her lamentation as she dropped her purse on the table and rested her head on her hand.

She moved her eyes to him, waiting for him to look at her.

"Hey! Mister, what is your name?"

"My name?" He slowly turned his head to look at her as he replied. "My name is, Liu Xueyi of Liu Corporation."
