CHAPTER 131
~Lin Jinchen's Cube~
Arriving at the gates of the small mansion, Liu Xueyi heaved out a deep sigh as he sluggish honked for the gates to be open.
A few seconds passed and the big gates began to slide back allowing him passage.
Not wanting to keep his beloved father waiting, he drove in without a thought till he was parked at the front of the house.
Far from it, this was not an ordinary house and he knew it.
The cube as his father fondly called it, housed so many projects of his rest depraved mind.
He had a penthouse there, and several other mini businesses properly managed but beneath all that, was his lair.
It was his comfort zone when he needed to get away from the company and not yet return home.
The one place which he could be found and could easily get angry in.
One small error to disturb his peace, and you get it.
Lazily, Liu Xueyi highlighted from his car and strode over to the side of the house where a secret small house stood, not looking more than a small space for the gatekeeper to live.
But, he knew better.
Entering inside, Liu Xueyi walked through to the second door at the side of the house leading to another world beyond what the normal eyes could not see.
A flight of stairs sprawled close to his feet paving the way down to his father's world. The real cube.
With a deep sigh, he descended it, following the dimly lit space till he came to a bigger area.
Not long, he arrived at the first sweetness of the house, the underground living room.
So much better than what he had at the main building.
A few men in suits lined the side of the house as he made his way over to the side living room where his father always was.
"Good afternoon, father," his still deep voice rang out from behind the older man.
"Come forward."
Obeying, he made his way to the front and stood not so far from him.
"You called."
"And you made me shout," Liu Jinchen reminded him. "Xueyi!"
"Father, what is this about, please. I was at the company tending to important matters," he lied.
"And by company, did you mean kissing Andromeda Kai?"
His eyes widened in shock but as quickly as they came, they disappeared and all he had was smiles for his father.
This was his father. Information hardly passed him and now he had gotten wind of a situation that occurred about an hour ago.
"That was just a short break."
"Tsk," Liu Jinchen tsked at him, shaking his head from side to side at his son's behaviour.
"I have no problem with whatever you do with your new top designer or any other girl for that matter, keep Liu Corporation out of such spotlight gossip."
He let out a deep sigh and walked over to where his father sat and took a seat as well.
Before his butt made a mark on the seat, his father shot him a deathly glare, daring him not to try him, but being the stubborn son, Liu Xueyi was, he ignored his father and sat down.
"Liu Xueyi!"
"Glad you are not that mad considering you used my full name."
"Xueyi!" Liu Jinchen hollered yet again.
"Tone it down a bit father, or else you would be so stressed out, mother would have a hard time massaging those wrinkles from your forehead."
He chuckled at his own joke before keeping a straight face and turning to look at his father.
"I mean it, father, why did you call me here exactly? You did not seem to bother about her scandal until now."
"Exactly, because I expected you to take good care of it since she was a gem to the company."
"And I did just that," Liu Xueyi responded, intertwining his fingers and remaining as calm as he could be.
"You call doing so by having another scandal?"
"In my opinion, it wasn't another scandal."
"What does that mean when you were caught in bed with her. How can you own up to such a thing? If she is a slut…"
"She is not a slut!"
Liu Jinchen had barely got the words out of his mouth when Liu Xueyi stood up and hollered at him, correctively.
"And how would you know?" Liu Jinchen questioned, ignoring his son's squirms.
"Because I know. Do you think I would not do my own research before accepting just anyone into the company? Especially with such an important position."
"You may be blinded by her womanly charms, who knows," Liu Jinchen stated as he leaned back against the couch, crossing his legs. "So, you tell me."
"Tell you what, dad?"
"Is she? And are you being deceived by her womanly charms?"
"Not at all. Besides, you have been in this business long enough. You would know better when one's enemies are trying to ruin them. If not why would that video pop out right after the fashion show?"
"It is exactly why I know. Which is also why I am trying to save you from being dragged down with her."
"Whether or not she goes down depends on how well I can protect her. Rather than let her enemies drag her down and ruin her talent, I would help her reach for the stars."
"Why?"
Although composed, Liu Xueyi could tell his father was being cautious and afraid things would get out of hand more than he can chew.
"Because I know she is pure. I know she is true and I know her eyes and blood boils for vengeance."
"That is dangerous fighting her battles," Liu Jinchen warned again. "I won't have my son going down because of a woman."
"Then if I do, I am not worthy of the Liu name. I will not and I repeat, I will not leave her."
The determination and fire that flickered in his bones were evident in his eyes as he stared his father down, delivering every word with strong conviction.
"Why do you protect her so much? I have been told you have shared a few kisses outside but now I wonder."
Liu Xueyi swallowed, keeping his hands in a fist at his side but did not say anything.
His father was a heavily studious man.
He did not need to be told something before figuring it out and he knew right now he had fallen into his father's trap.
He wanted to know if he had feelings for Andromeda and if they were true or just a child's game.
And so far, each question asked and his response had brought his father to such a conclusion.
"Do you love her, son?" Liu Jinchen suspicious voice recounted.
"It doesn't matter what I feel. For the good of the company, I…"
"Do you love her!" Liu Jinchen bellowed at him.
All playful expressions and composed nature vanished before Liu Xueyi's eyes as his father lost his cool.
He hated to be played with and he hated one beating around the bush so much.
"Yes. I love her very much."
'"Does she?"
"Getting there."
He left out a deep breath but no smile came with it.
"Fine then. Deal with it."
"Yes, sir."
"And what if the guy in the video returns?"
"He won't because there was no guy. I was the one."
All Liu Jinchen did was give a silent nod and dismissed Liu Xueyi with a wave of his fingers, ending the conversation abruptly.
"I would take my leave now, father."
