CHAPTER 168
Once they finished their meal, they proceeded to the cinema.
More than anything, Liu Xueyi wished to make this a date but right now he was scared to do much considering her kiss of confession to someone else.
At this point, Andromeda was more concerned with letting them watch the movie, in hopes that perhaps if it's something of interest, it may pull his mind back to reality and he wouldn't stay silent anymore.
Unfortunately for her, the movie, although great did not help Liu Xueyi's situation.
Time and time and again, his mind was brought back to that very same time yesterday.
It was not also that he failed to note his attitude was somehow affected by the thoughts, hedid.
Nevertheless, he hoped that would be what Andromeda would prefer considering she kissed someone and asked him to stop kissing her because of she loved another.
As sad as his thoughts were, he was battling with what to do to prove to her that he loved her and wondered if really she would give him a chance.
Several thoughts roamed their minds independently but both stubborn souls refused to utter any word to each other.
By the time the movie was over, he led her out, managing to fake a smile.
At this point, Andromeda was frustrated by his actions and to Liu Xueyi's dismay, he was actually faking a smile.
For someone like him who was a talented actor, behaving normally before her should have been something quite easy for him to do. However, that was a different case entirely.
With Andromeda, it was like every lie was being revealed except for the most important truth he kept hidden.
Each time he saw couples together, hugging or having a public display of affection, his heart was pricked and he felt hurt all over.
After hours of staying silent, Andromeda finalized in her mind that she was going to confront him.
If she had known their outing would be this way, then she most definitely would have just sat at home.
Many a time she hinted things at him. Holding unto his arm, blushing at some of his comments, pointing stylishly at other couples, just to give him the cue to be shamelessly naughty as he always was.
He was not someone who cared about people watching him, so why now was he acting like a virgin girl who had never met a man before in her life?
She was so done on many other levels. If he wanted her to just say it out loud or do it herself, then she would but he should not blame her if she shrunk into her shell right after.
"Liu Xueyi," Andromeda called out in a low but commanding tone, forcing him to come to a stop and turn his head to look at her.
She saw the worry in his eyes but son they disappeared and he was back to his old stoic self.
'Damn it, Liu Xueyi!' She cursed in her mind, fuming with so much anger.
"Yes?"
'You can do this, Andromeda. Just kiss him. One kiss is all it would take.' She prepped herself mentally on several notes while her eyes cast a quick glance around to see if the few persons around were looking in their direction.
Just watching her glance around, Liu Xueyi had his suspicions piqued.
He turned fully to face her, narrowing his eyes at her. Drawing in a long breath, his brows snapped together. He waited for her to be prepared before speaking what was on her mind.
As though he was watching a movie, Andromeda inhaled deeply, rubbing her palms together as she took a step forward, wearing her cutest nervous smile.
"Xueyi I…" She looked up at him, another big mistake as the words she wished to say remained stuck in her throat.
'Since I cannot speak it. I would just do it. Here goes nothing.'
Andromeda took another step closer, lifting her head to gaze up into his eyes properly, setting the moment properly.
He watched as her eyes fluttered slowly with her breathing coming in short bursts. He swallowed hard, feeling uneasy about her silence.
However, the mesmerizing look in her eyes made his heart come to ease and once more he found himself admiring her beauty.
"Xue-yi…" Her eyelid fluttered close when suddenly a sound flung them open.
GRRRRRIII!
Both Andromeda and Xueyi moved back in shock as the sound coming from the phone kept on ringing nonstop.
Andromeda bit down on her lower lip, closing her eyes tight. Her hands squeezed into fists at her side, fighting the urge to scream out and curse at fate for what it did to her.
Liu Xueyi lowered his gaze, realizing the phone ringing was his. Immediately he dove his hand into his trousers pocket and pulled out his phone as he immediately took the call, mouthing an apology at her.
"Hello?"
"Xueyi son,' the familiar feminine voice resonated from the other end of the phone, bringing to remembrance the face of the one who always said those words.
"Mother."
Andromeda's shut eyes suddenly flew open at the mention of that one word.
She did not know why she was so tempted to curse earlier on but when she knew it was his mother, her anger was instantly dissipated.
Whether it was due to the fact that she lost her mother or it was the respect she had for women, mothers precisely that made her anger die down.
Regardless of whatever reason that it was, she watched him take two steps back to speak to his mum.
For the first time in a long time, Andromeda felt a sense of sadness wash over her as she recalled the times her mother called her and the voice of the one she missed the most replayed in her mind.
Letting out a smile, she turned around and walked off some distance away, giving him his privacy.
"Mum, how are you?"
"Fine, thanks for checking up on me."
"Ma," his voice trailed off a bit. The last thing he wanted was for her to scold him for not paying her a visit or even calling him.
"Don't be like this, okay."
"I never said anything. Anyways, I want you home."
"What?!"
"Yes, but before that, your sister is returning. I need you to pick her up from the airport."
