CHAPTER 226
No matter how many times she thought about it, Xiao Xin could not put her mind to it exactly.
She knows she did not tell him about how he felt but a part of her got scared that with him dropping her off, she may not get to see him until some years later.
Just the thought of losing him, be it friendship or relationship, made her heart clench tight.
It was like the missing puzzle to the troubled heart had been found.
Left with nothing else to do, she kissed him.
However, she had hoped that with their time together then perhaps, just perhaps. But when he took a step back with his eyes filled with shock, her heart thudded loudly in her chest.
Now she was certain he did not feel anything towards her and that was why he also avoided her.
Sadly, when she thought about crying to her brother, she recalled the fight he had with Xie Tian.
'Wait...' Her eyes closed involuntarily as she felt her inner self weakening.
She had chosen to forget what she saw because she was much more concerned about meeting with him again.
However, on second thought now, she realized that the anger he showed towards her brother and his protective stance towards Andromeda spoke a different tale.
'He likes Andromeda, huh?'
A teardrop fell from her eyes, rolling down her face as more and more of those tears stained her cheeks.
She did not know but it would explain everything and also why Liu Xueyi was so mad at Xie Tian.
"I can't believe I let my fear and emotions rule me and I..."
Unable to finish her sentence, Xiao Xin fell to her side on the bed as she clutched hard against the pillow and let her tears flow freely.
Whether or not she had a chance, she didn't care so much. All that rang a bell in her head was the fact that she had fooled herself before him.
And now, he did not wish to speak to her anymore.
'Sleep, Liu Xiao Xin. You deserve it."
No sooner had her eyes closed than the ringtone of her phone went off, alerting her to an incoming call.
Feeling demotivated, Xiao Xin turned the phone down, so the screen faced the bed.
However, after the first ring had died off, her phone rang out once more.
Sensing the call as a disturbance, Xiao Xin turned her phone around to check who the caller was and then she was going to know how best to respond.
Her eyes flew open when they landed on her phone on the bed. "X-Xie..."
She gulped as she sprang up from the bed into a sitting position. Without a second to spare, she picked up her phone properly and stared wide-eyed at the phone screen.
"X-Xie Tian?!"
Her brain buzzed with so many thoughts at that moment while she figured out what to do. A few seconds later, she hurriedly took the call, before it went off.
Ahem! Xiao Xin cleared her throat as she inhaled deeply while crossing her legs together.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Xiao Xin. Good afternoon," Xie Tian's calm voice greeted.
"Afternoon. How are you?"
"Good. And you?"
"Fine, now that I have heard your voice."
"Really?" he inquired in a surprised playful tone.
In fact, with how he acted that night and not checked up on her since, he expected he to be offended with him. Surprisingly she was happy.
"I am sorry," he breathed out. "So sorry for ignoring you this week."
"Umm, I cannot say I felt mad but I am sorry as well. If you ignored me, it was due to what I did. I should never have kissed you."
"No. That was just... stupid of me, I guess."
"No. It's all good. So... what's up?"
"Umm... I umm..."
"You...?" Xiao Xin trailed off with him, hoping it would prompt out an answer from his lips sooner before her anticipation got the best out of her.
"I want to make it up to you, okay? Can I take you out, please?"
"Umm, I don't know. I do not feel like going out."
"Come on. Let me, please. I promise it would be worth your time."
She took some seconds to consider her options carefully. It was obvious he did not have feelings for her and his eyes were on Andromeda.
At this point, the best option was ensuring she stayed away from him, but instead, here she was considering going out with him.
A minute passed and there was still not a word from her. However, her silence had only made him worry.
All he wanted was a way to make it up to her and probably clear his head instead of sitting at home all day.
But if she did not wish to come still, he planned on surprising her with a gift of apology.
"Xiao Xin?"
"Fine."
"Fine?"
"Okay. I guess I need to breathe a bit of fresh air. So yes, I would take you up on your offer."
"Thanks a bunch. I will pick you up in an hour."
"Sure."
Without saying much to him, she needed the call as she let her phone fall from her hand.
One, two, three... Four seconds passed and Xiao Xin could no longer hold in the scream that had been threatening to break free.
"Aaaaahhhh!!"
Shaking her head, she yelled out some more before falling with her back to the bed.
It may not be much, but this was an outing with her crush. To her, it was better than sulking up with her pillow.
Her cheeks flushed just thinking about seeing him again and she once more buried her face into her pillow.
"Okay, okay, Xiao Xin. First rule. Do not act all too interested. We need to make him.... hehehe hell no! I'm going to have fun!!"
She sprang back up on the bed as she threw the pillow to her side and snapped her head towards her wardrobe.
"What do I wear?"
