CHAPTER 274
Considering that for a long time he had kept the proper focus on his father who currently seemed not like a problem when it came to Andromeda.
Even though they had spoken about her before, since then he had not done such a thing with the head of the Liu Family.
And now seeing his mother take his father's role, he shook his head for forgetting how nosy she could be when you kept her in the dark.
"Mum."
"And the most surprising one was when you punched the eldest son of the Sun family. Do you know how well that would have blown? Two heirs of influential families fighting over a girl."
"Mum, it is enough," Liu Xueyi pacified. "You won."
"Won what? Were we having a duel or something I am trying to figure it out and I cannot?"
"Fine. Thank you for keeping the paparazzi down and doing your best. You are the best."
"How do you expect me to accept such a compliment with such a dry bored tone?" Although her tone came off in a scolding manner, Liu Xueyi knew her better.
She was the least bit angry over such a thing.
Changing his tone, Liu Xueyi tried again as he paved his way over to his couch and sat down. "Mum."
"Yes?"
"I love you."
Instantly a smile flashed across her cheeks. However, being the lady that she was, she hummed away.
"Thanks for always taking care of us. Thanks for putting this family together. I do not know what life would have been had you not been there for us while growing up. Dad may not say it but, you are the best."
The smile on her lips broadened as her cheeks flushed lightly. Having her son speak in such a manner to her was both thrilling and captivating.
It gave her the feeling of being young once more.
"So, my darling, do not worry, I already have a bracelet and watch I ordered for you in my closet. I would bring it with me when I bring Andromeda to you."
While he complimented her, Mrs Liu. forgot about anything at that moment. Although her husband praised her from time to time, it felt different having a younger man do it.
"Mrs Liu. are you still there?"
"Huh?"
"Mum, did you get what I said just now?" Liu Xueyi inquired.
"Absolutely. Why not? I did okay."
"Alright if you say so, but to make sure, what did I say?"
Knowing his mother all too well, he knew how she got when she got praised and was called sweet names by her darling son.
She forgot everything being said of that moment and let herself bask in the thrill of those praises.
"What do you mean, Liu Xueyi? Are you trying to say I f-forgot?"
He nodded slightly as though she could see him. "Sure. You did. So, tell me."
"I did not. I recall. You said you bought me a bracelet and a watch. Why would I forget the gifts my son promised me?"
Right now, he was tempted to say yes to her and allow her to forget about meeting Andromeda.
As good as that plan was, the moment she recalled it, he was going to get the scolding of a lifetime. And unlike the other times, she would not let him rest.
"Ma, I said I would be bringing her over for dinner today."
"What?!"
Quickly, Liu Xueyi moved the phone from his ear to safeguard his eardrums. "Huh, mum? You wanted to see her, right?"
"Yes, I do."
"Okay, if today is too much for you. How about I move it to Saturday, to allow you to prepare?"
A long pause followed from her end of the phone. He knew he put her in a difficult spot while giving her irresistible options she could hardly refuse.
She liked preparing things and having her time when hosting someone. On the other hand, if she picked Saturday, it would give her all the time she needed but it was far.
Should she pick today, it was too close. She loved making a good impression. Not like anything she did was not next to perfection, she just did not want any mistakes.
"Okay, Saturday it is."
"No," Mrs Liu. stated abruptly.
"No?"
"Yes."
'Yes?"
"Arghh. Liyu Xueyi stops putting words in my mouth. How about we go for Wednesday? That way, I would have time to prepare and so would Andromeda. Then, it would also not be too far?"
He had to give it to her, she did a great job in finding an easy way out. Normally he would ignore it and make things difficult for her but Andromeda was in question here.
For some reason, this would be a big step for her.
"Okay. You win. Wednesday it is. I hope that old man would be present as well?"
"It is a family dinner. Of course, he would be. Alright, let me allow you to have a nice rest, son. See you soon."
"Bye mum. Sleep on time and rest that pretty head of yours for me."
"I will. Kisses."
Keeping all of her kisses and hugs to herself, Mrs Liu ended the call and pressed her phone close to her chest.
With a face full of smiles, she let her mind drift back, recounting all the sweet words he said to her.
Had he made it too much, she would have felt angered by it. She hated lies but loved when the compliments were appropriate and straight to the point.
"Now who is making my wife blush except me?"
Her eyes widened briefly before snapping her head to the side to see her husband walk into the room in his bath robe.
"Hey, darling."
"Answer me, Jiaying. Who was that on the phone with you? Who has the audacity to make my wife blush?"
"What? Are you jealous?" She asked with wide eyes and clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth.
"Tell me who first and I would answer if I am jealous or not."
"Okay, a young handsome stud. So," her voice trailed off. "What are you going to do about it?"
