CHAPTER 419
All through that day, Andromeda let Liu Xueyi be by himself. She did not want to be insensitive and ask him what really was the matter when she was sure it must have been heartbreaking for him hearing about a son.
The moment where he had led a carefree life, now looking towards a bright future with her, all of those getting destroyed with the coming of someone into his life.
She breathed out sharply. If there was something she could have done, she would gladly do it.
Long gone were her initial anger. All she could think of was how to make him smile, how to help him out and to take away his pain.
She understood why he would not let anyone hear of it now except the major parties. Should word leak, the media would make a big flame out if it. That was something they could not have.
While she busied herself with thoughts of his life, her phone buzzed on his desk in his study.
The caller ID showed Joan Xiaofei's name. Subconsciously Andromeda smiled before answering it.
"Hello." Her voice sounded hoarse from lack of use. "Xiaofei. How are you?"
"Hello, Ms. Kai. I am okay. How are you?" She paused when she did not hear Andromeda's quick response.
"Scratch that, you must have your own stuff to deal with, I get it but..."
"Xiaofei I am fine," Andromeda cut in quickly before she got any ideas about worrying about her.
"I am glad to hear that in fact. Because I know you have been distracted as of late, which leads me to why I called."
"Oh, there's another reason for calling?" Andromeda teased and continued as she shook her golden hair back and leaned against the chair.
"And here I was, thinking you called cause you cared."
A peel of soft laughter fell off Joan Xiaofei's lips and she nodded.
"I am offended. You know I care. You're my big sis after all. I simply gave you space but I cannot do so anymore."
"I know. I'm joking. So what's the urgency?"
"I can't believe you put your own goal aside, ma'am."
Andromeda's eyes dimmed at hearing this compliment coming from someone else. Although right now she wasn't sure anymore if it was based off Joan Xiaofei's tone.
"The annaul Queen of the Fashion World event."
"Shit!" The exclamation came out of her mouth without warning or thought of how it would sound to Jian Xiaofei who had just given her a compliment moments ago.
"Any important updates, that I should be aware of?" Andromeda asked in a more composed voice than before, hoping to cover up for herself.
"No no, nothing like that, but I wanted you to see something first hand before we go into details later on," she said while looking through some papers on his desk. "I have something for you actually but... well..." She paused again. "We need you to be ready, Peng Xiaoli and I. Bring back Boss Andromeda back. For all of us."
Andromeda nodded as though Joan Xiaofei could see her before using her mouth instead.
"Sure. That's just what I needed. Thank you."
The call end a couple of seconds later after some minor enquiries and Andromeda fell silent for another 5 mins before lifting her head from where she rested it.
Although it was only 2 days, she lost a considerable amount of time with her work bothering about Zheng Ying. I think you should take a look at
Although it was worth it since she got to support her boyfriend she could not help thinking of how to make this right.
"I thought I was moody."
Andromeda snapped her gaze in the direction of the voice where Liu Xueyi stood by the door with both hands in his pocket.
He looked great even in casual wear in just plain black shorts and green baggy shirts.
He looked straight towards Andromeda's face. His eyes were bright but there seemed a hint of sadness within them too.
Liu Xueyi did look tired but he still managed to smile at Andromeda's reaction when their eyes met.
She smiled back at him but it felt strained. Her worry was obviously pushing at her.
"What is it?" Andromeda's heart skipped several beats. She did not plan on making him worry his butt off for her sake—which was why she came here but here she was, doing the exact same thing.
"My love, you know better than to lie to me or hide anything from me," Liu Xueyi began, pushing off from the doorframe. "I am your boyfriend you know and I know you like the back of my hands."
She lifted her brows, trying her best to conceal the smile threatening to spill out on her lips and into her eyes. "Oh yeah? Then tell me..."
She licked her lips, her gaze dropping down his body and back up in a slow sexual manner.
"Tell me what I am thinking then."
"You are so bad!" He laughed as though she had said something funny while she bit her lower lip hard enough that it hurt slightly as she watched him walk closer until they were almost touching each other.
Her breath caught as she saw how close she was standing next to him now without realizing it.
It was only because of how tall he was compared to herself that made the distance seem more vast between them instead of being an inch away.
"You wanna know?" Liu Xueyi asked, letting his right fingers trail up her left arm in a slow fashion.
Andromeda drew in a deep breath and battered her eyelids slowly as well. "Hmm, yeah... I wanna know."
"Why you try to evade my thoughts from the main deal using your sex appeal, it only pushes my thoughts to their destination fuether."
"And that is?"
"It's about the fashion show. It's going down next week. You do not want me to worry but the things Andy, I do care."
He brought both hands to cup her cheeks in a romantic manner, carressing her face with both hands before leaning forward just enough for him to kiss her forehead gently.
The softness of his lips against her skin sent shivers through Andromeda and she closed her eyes for a moment at feeling him touch her again. She could feel his warm breath on her brow and she knew she was blushing furiously by now.
She wanted this man so badly she was willing to give up everything she had ever known if need be—just for him.
"I will make sure you don't have anything else bothering you," Liu Xueyi whispered softly into her ear as he kissed it tenderly once more.
"I love you," Andromeda replied quietly as she opened her mouth slightly when he pulled back a bit after another gentle peck of affectionate kisses all over her head. "Thank you."
Liu Xueyi smiled widely, his bright white teeth shining brightly in the dim light coming from the study room where they stood together.
"You're welcome, My Queen. And you may not know it but fashion contest or not, you'll always be the Queen to me."
He bent down to press his lips to hers and they shared one last sweet kiss that made them both sigh happily afterwards.
