Chapter 76 - The Three Wanders (1/2)

Xu Suying, however, went into serious mode on what Xiong Jingfei just said, "I'm worried about the future..." 

The easiest way to solve all of this mess was to break off the marriage agreement between both families. Unfortunately, it's easier said than done. 

Xiong Jingfei's father will never let go of an opportunity this great. How many chances will he ever get to have a connection with Yang's family again? If not for Yang Zheyan's grandfather, they could have switched out the daughters. It wasn't hard to guess which daughter will be the first runner up if that was possible, Xiong Changchang. 

"Ugh," Xu Suying quickly wiped her memory clean of that name and face. Just the thought of the name made her nauseated. The image of Xiong Changchang had to pop up too! 

Truthfully, Yang Zheyan's parents would have canceled the engagement by now. To them, Xiong Jingfei's background was not good enough for their son. Her father, Xiong Guozhi, was originally nothing in Sinwang City. It was all thanks to Xiong Jingfei's mother, Yin Yingtai. She came from a well off family and carried the surname Yin too. Making her able to help Xiong Guozhi get to where he is today. 

There were a few famous surnames in Sinwang City that can make you feel what true power and fears are. The surname Yin happened to be one of them too.  

Sadly, Yin Yingtai's family disowned her a long time ago. All because she wouldn't marry the man they had chosen for her. She willingly threw away everything and chose Xiong Guozhi. Yet, their marriage did not last long after she gave birth to Xiong Jingfei. 

Since Yin Yingtai was no longer part of the Yin family. That also means Xiong Jingfei meant nothing to the maternal family, and will not get their backing either. Xiong Jingfei's wealth and power in Sinwang City were based on her father. What they have couldn't even go up against the Yang family even by a little. 

If Yang Zheyan's parents decided to cancel the engagement. It wouldn't be hard to find someone better to replace Xiong Jingfei. Again, the only hard one to convince to abolish this arrangement is Yang Zheyan's grandfather. He was adamant about having it be Xiong Jingfei only, no others.

"Why must it be Feifei only?" Xu Suying asked out loud in frustration. Biting the tip of her thumb and trying to find a reason for it. 

She really wanted to help her friend, but there seemed to be no way out of it. The elders were stubborn about holding onto their promises. But, they were no longer living in the olden days. Even if they did break the arrange marriage, it wouldn't be frown upon as severely as in the past. 

"Oh!" Xu Suying clapped her hand together. 

She thought of an idea! An idea you would hear happening in a romance novel or drama. Well, in a romantic messed up way. 

"My drama watching is becoming so useful!" Xu Suying complimented herself. She immediately called Xiong Jingfei instead of texting it. It was too big to be texting it!

Since Xiong Jingfei wasn't in for the romance, she didn't have to worry about that part. They only need to focus on the part where she could have a civil marriage. 

Xiong Jingfei listening to Xu Suying's idea and was not thrilled by it. But she couldn't say no to it. It was by far the best idea, so she came to an agreement with Xu Suying.

"Tomorrow, my parents won't be back until the day after tomorrow." Xu Suying finished off the conversation and plan. 

Meanwhile, in a different place, a light was blinking on and off from a tablet. It dinged every time there was a notification that you received a message. The tablet was held in the hand of the very person they were talking about, and he saw it all. 

Yang Zheyan didn't want to read any of it, but it was hard not to when he saw his name come up. He had the conversation on one hand while the other one was on his drawing. Although it has been a while since the drawing hand moved. 

"Damn it, Lu Weisheng." Yang Zheyan snarled, reading what Xiong Jingfei wrote. Must be what Lu Weisheng did today at the cafe with that woman. 

He waited and waited for Xu Suying's reply, but she never texted back. Instead, she was on call...

"What could they be talking about that it can't be written out?" 

That night, Yang Zheyan couldn't fall asleep as he laid wide awake. He couldn't stop thinking about what those two were talking about. Most likely, not good things! Probably planning something big and against him. 

"Should I just video call her right now?" Yang Zheyan stared at the Xiong Jingfei's phone number that was a button away. Their meetup date was two days away. It wouldn't hurt to hurry it up, right? He groaned and covered his face, "What is happening to me!"

That very same night as Xu Suying was drifting off to sleep. Her eyelids suddenly became heavy. As if someone is forcing her eyes to be shut so she can't see. 

Suddenly she heard faint whispering and laughing. However, she was unable to make out what they were saying. Then sounds of footsteps, walking and shuffling around their wooden floor. 

At first, it sounded like it was coming from outside her bedroom door. She thought it was her older brother Xu Cheng. He lives on his own now, but will occasionally stop by in the middle of the night to crash. Most likely, after a night out of drinking with his friends. It was probably him and his friends...

No, it can't be her brother. He had an early appointment tomorrow. He will never drink the night before meeting up with his client. He was strict on this part as a professional. 

Xu Suying's clenched onto her bedsheet. Forcing herself to wake up did not work. So she another method, by screaming inside her head to wake up. No one was home except for her. Someone was in the house with her, and it didn't sound like it was one person only.
