Chapter 78 - The Plan (1/4)

The very next morning, Xiong Jingfei showed up at Xu Suying's house. Her house was just as big as Xiong Jingfei's father's house. Xu Suyin's family were not as wealthy as Xiong Jingfei, but they had more than enough for Xu Suying shopping spree. 

Xiong Jingfei showed up earlier, then the appointed time. Her fingers nervously rang the doorbell, and the door immediately swung open. 

Xu Suying opened the door, filled with enthusiasm and tiredness. She appeared as if she didn't get a wink of sleep.

"He is not here yet," Xu Suying yawned, beckoning Xiong Jingfei to the living room. "Sit. Did you want anything to drink?" 

Xu Suying wasn't planning on telling Xiong Jingfei about what happened to her last night. It was something irrelevant to her, and once she gets that ritual done. She won't have to hear from those three wanders again. 

Xiong Jingfei shook her head. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably, let alone have a cup in her hands. She didn't want to make a mess when she was already having Xu Suying involved in her own matters. 

If Xiong Jingfei's father finds out what she is up to, he will be furious and raging. Even though she had the guts to rebel against him and moved out on her own. On the inside, she feared him so much. Especially when he raises his voice. The dark creature named fear will take over her body, and she will give in to what he wants. 

This is how she got herself into this mess. Obeying Xiong Guozhi's demands and fulfilling his desire for this marriage. 

A soft pat was felt on Xiong Jingfei's back, easing her nervousness. Xu Suying gave her a tirelessly smile, "It will be alright. You have me here!"

Xiong Jingfei nodded her head. Yes, Xu Suying is right. At a time like this, she was glad to have Xu Suying and not endure it all alone. Their first encounter wasn't the greatest, but they ended up being the bestest friend. She really doesn't know what would have happened to her if she didn't have Xu Suying. 

Xu Suying's support means everything to Xiong Jingfei. She has been there for her on her happiest days to her most stressful days. But where did she hear those exact same words from before? It was very assuring but yet scary too. 

'Miss, everything will be alright. You have me here! Master has always been loyal to this country, and will never betray his Majesty. They will find out the truth!'

"Susu, I thought I heard the door-" 

Xiong Jingfei snapped out of her thoughts. Thoughts, she never experienced or heard someone say that to her before. 

Xu Suying's mother was walking down the stairs until she saw another figure in the living room. A gentle motherly smile was instantly plastered on her face. Welcoming their unexpected guest with open arms. To her, it wasn't a guest, but a daughter coming home to visit her parents. 

"If it isn't our lovely daughter Feifei!"

Xiong Jingfei got up from the sofa and ran into Xu Suying's mother's embrace. It was their way of greeting one another, and one of the many things Xiong Jingfei enjoyed when visiting Xu Suying. Then she turned her head slightly and looked at Xu Suying with wide-open eyes. 

She mouthed, 'Why is your mom home?'

Xu Suying shrugged. She is just as surprised! 

"M-mom, I didn't know you were home? I thought you and dad were arriving tomorrow morning?" Xu Suying stuttered, trying to find out the answer before the person they had a meeting with showed up. They would be in serious trouble if her mom knew what they were up to. 

"Oh, honey..." Xu Suying's mom yawned, not used to the time difference yet. She got up early to give her body a head start in adjusting, "We got back late last night. Everything was settled earlier than planned, so your father and I headed back as soon as possible. We didn't want to leave you here staying all by yourself." 

"I see..." Xu Suying slowly expressed while finding an alternate route to their plan. Shoot! There is not enough time to adjust because he will be here soon. So she gave Xiong Jingfei the signal to go with the original plan, even with her mom here. 

'Are you serious?' Xiong Jingfei mouthed. That is not a good idea at all. It was more of a disaster for hour-long scolding!

"Yes!" Xu Suying blurted out. Shoot, she covers her mouth. She thought she was mouthing it back to Xiong Jingfei. It was hard for her when it comes to this quiet talking game. She always loses! 

"Yes, what?" Xu Suying's mother turned around and gave her daughter a "the" stare. 

Xiong Jingfei took a tiny step behind Xu Suying's mom to be out of sight. Xu Suying was a terrible liar when it comes to her mom. So, she will help her out like always. Hopefully, she will get what she is trying to say, like how she gets Xu Suying's signal. It could only be "hope" because Xu Suying was terrible at the signal game as she is with the quiet game!

She pointed to herself and then to Xu Suying's mom. Then gave Xu Suying the heart sign with her hand. 

Please understand! If not, come up with a clever lie with the hints I just gave you! Xiong Jingfei squinted her eyes, trying to telepath her thoughts to Xu Suying. Please let your brain function what I am trying to say. 

"What are you staring so hard at?" Xu Suying's mom turned around to look at Xiong Jingfei, but she acted like she wasn't just giving her daughter an idea to lie. Then she looked back at her daughter, "Is there something going on?"

Xiong Jingfei shook her head at Xu Suying. Oh gosh, she might start confessing every bad thing she did from starting from preschool.
