"Zheyan, why don't you spend the night here?" Yang Chen said, noticing the color was coming back to his son's face, but he was still pale. "I don't want you driving."
Yang Zheyan had no problem driving back at all. He trusted his driving skills, but the person beside him was already looking for ways to leave him. Tsk, after what happened today. She might try escaping to a faraway country, but good luck to her, if she can even escape.
"Ugh, I suddenly don't feel so good." Yang Zheyan rubbed the side of his head and laid it on Xiong Jingfei's shoulder.
"Son, are you alright? What's wrong?" Song Liqin couldn't bear to see her son hurt, even though he was faking his illness. Still, she stayed a good length away from him for insurance so she won't accidentally touch him again.
Yang Zheyan cracked open his eyes and was motioning for his grandfather to take the hint.
"Oh... Oh!" Yang Jinhai caught on immediately. When did this grandson of his learn this move? Truly the grandson I raised with pride! He cleared his throat, "I won't allow you to drive back in this condition. Both of you should rest for the night."
Xiong Jingfei immediately declined the offer, waving her hands. The way back was super long, just estimating based on how long it took them to get to the estate. Still, she would rather walk down the long forest road than spend a night with the Yang family. More like with him... Yang Zheyan.
"Aiya, there is no need to be shy! You will be part of this family soon anyway." Yang Jinhai waved a gesture to declined her refusal. "About moving in with Zheyan, I will talk to your father about this. You don't have to worry about anything."
Xiong Jingfei was begging that they had forgotten about that idea! How can he say she doesn't need to worry about anything. There are a lot of things to be worried about! She was expecting to live with him after their marriage, not before. Why was nothing going as she planned in her head?
"Liqin, why don't you show Feifei the guest room? O-oh, wait. Ah, old me is losing it again! The guest room is not ready yet, so both of them can stay in Zheyan's old room." Yang Jinhai said, realizing he almost made a mistake. "Quickly take them to get some rest."
Yang Jinhai tried to hurry them on over to Yang Zheyan's room. Before, Xiong Jingfei finds a different excuse to leave.
Song Liqin caught onto what his son and grandfather were trying to do. In this entire estate, how can there not be one room that is ready for a guest?
Ignoring the voice that was fighting her to have Xiong Jingfei and Yang Zheyan separate. She went along with them, wanting to see what is going to happen. Maybe one day when her son was cured of this odd condition, it was never too late.
Xiong Jingfei wanted to keep refusing, but it wouldn't be polite to Yang Zheyan's grandfather. Is Yang Zheyan the only driver around here? She was completely healthy and okay! She doesn't need to rest for the night. There is bound to be someone else who is a great driver here to take her home.
It's all your fault! Xiong Jingfei was blaming the head using her shoulder to rest on. She just wanted to shove him off, but then she'll get a full-blown lecture from Song Liqin.
"Even though this meeting didn't go as planned, it came with a surprise too. I am delighted you came, and you're more than welcome to spend a few days with us. Staying forever is welcomed too!" Yang Jinhai laughed, standing up from his chair. "Chen, I need to discuss something with you."
"Yes, father." Yang Chen stood up and followed his father. He took one last look at his wife, "Let them rest. Don't bother them."
Song Liqin didn't want another scene or go against her husband. She beckoned Xiong Jingfei to bring Yang Zhyean and follow her.
No one helped Xiong Jingfei support Yang Zheyan to his room. His head still remained on her shoulder, and he had his arms wrapped around her waist while they walked. She tried to loosen his firm wrap, but he made sure to hold on tighter. Like a child holding onto his toy because he doesn't want anyone else to play with it.
Of course, none of the servants dared to help Xiong Jingfei. Not after seeing Yang Zheyan's scary look when one of the male servants was about to give her a hand.
"Young master has become scary…"
"Why were you trying to help? Can't you tell he's faking it!"
Xiong Jingfei sucked in a deep breath, looking at the many steps she needed to take to reach the second floor. Why is she feeling the sweats down her back before even climbing?
Song Liqin didn't say anything when no one offered to carry her son. Even though she wasn't close to her son, she watched him grow up. She already knew he was faking it, and her father-in-law was in on it too. Shameless! She doesn't recall raising a son like him!
Although, this is the first time she has seen her son, this happy faking his own sickness. He wasn't even like this around his grandfather. If Yang Zheyan does fall in love with Xiong Jingfei, does she really have to accept it? So, without realizing she was slowly starting to make peace with it.
Song Liqin turned on her heels after showing them to Yang Zheyan's room. She didn't even stay to see her son lay down on the bed. She was always the first to make sure he was getting the care he needed.
Xiong Jingfei was rolling her eyes while dragging Yang Zheyan's body over to the bed. She swears they're all teaming up against her! Using the last of her strength, she threw his body on the bed. She collapsed next to him with her weakened legs. Panting to get her energy back, she closed her eyes for a second.
On both sides of her, she felt the bed being pushed down.
"Hey, don't you know how to treat a patient with care?"
She opened her eyes to find his face closed up to her. That his warm breath can be felt brushing past her cheeks. She glared at him. Care, my ass! She pushed his face away from hers, but it wouldn't budge. She was only able to push his face looking up at the ceiling.
In one swift move, he was able to shake off her hand. He peered into her eyes, "You knew I was faking it. Why did you go along with it? Did you really want to spend the night with me?"
Her right eyebrow twitched, as if! Not acting along with him was a breach of their contract already. Their lovey-dovey plan would have been seen right through by someone like his grandfather. She crossed her arms and waited for him to remove himself.
"What is this?" Yang Zheyan traced the side of her face with his index finger, then tilting her chin. "You don't believe I am capable of doing anything to you? In this intimate position, anything can happen~."
Pft, was the reaction she made. He won't do anything to her in his conditions. He may be faking his headache, but his body was physically weak. He was more in danger than she was at the moment.
Yang Zheyan sighed disappointedly, bored that he couldn't get a fl.u.s.tered reaction out of her. He grinned and let the weight of his body lay right on top of hers. Wrapping his arms around her and buried his face in her neck.
Xiong Jingfei tried to push him off her, but the pleading in his voice caused her to leave him be.
"Please, let me stay like this for a second."
At the corner of her eyes, the rashes on his right cheeks were fading away already. She traced the rashes with her fingers without feeling grossed out by it. She was actually fascinated to be witnessing something this rare. Very interesting.
Her heart was banging against her chest, knowing that she is the only woman able to touch him. Xiong Jingfei hoped Yang Zheyan didn't notice her crazy heartbeat. It was hard to believe he didn't when his chest wasn't even a centimeter apart from hers.
What she didn't realize was that the place where she touched. Those rashes were disappearing faster than the other ones untouched.
The tensed muscle in Yang Zheyan relaxed against her gentle touch. That cooling sensation from earlier was returning through her fingertips.
Xiong Jingfei removed her fingers when she realized how long she has been touching his face. Ah, a good looking face that was hard to resist.
"Why did you stop?" Yang Zheyan seized her hand, pulling himself up to face her.
She thought he had fallen asleep...
