"What did you say?" Yin Yuan sat up from the bed in his hotel room. "Say that again."
"Mnn…"
"Wait." Yin Yuan whispered, going out to the balcony and closing the door behind him. He almost forgot that he "invited" someone to his bed, and almost stirred that person awake. He can tell this was going to be a conversation outsiders shouldn't listen in. "Okay, say that again."
"I said, how do I get Yang Zheyan to remember the past?" Xiong Jingfei leaned her elbows on the balcony ledge. She stared at the sound asleep Yang Zheyan through the glass panel. "I want him to remember what he did to me."
"Haah… Wouldn't it be easier to get your revenge on him because he doesn't know anything?" Yin Yuan lit up a cigarette and sat on the balcony rail. The weather where he was at was beautiful all day, and the night sky was prettier than in Sinwang City. "Wow, you should visit this place. It's a beautiful city."
"Maybe when I get the chance, I will." Xiong Jingfei replied, knowing what he meant behind those words. If she wants to leave Sinwang City one day, where he is at will be a great place to have a fresh start. She went back to their topic, "Even so, where would the fun be if he doesn't remember anything?"
Yin Yuan smirked and put down his cigarette. "True, and it seems like you already know that he can't remember the past like the way you did. Isn't that why you called me for help?"
"Yes." Xiong Jingfei admitted, tracing water rings on the ledge. "So, how did you know that place will bring back my memories?"
Yin Yuan snickered. "Only you know why that place holds any meaning to you. I only discovered it by accident, and that crazy grandma was the one who told me to bring you there."
"I see... Are you telling me that I have to find things to bring his memories back?" Xiong Jingfei pondered on it, and it made sense. She did start recalling the past more because of similar situations, items, and the same people from the past.
"Correct. Recreate situations that you think will mean anything to Yang Zheyan." Yin Yuan explained. "It'll be nice if you found that one thing that will trigger his memories like how I did to you. Then you can spare the extra effort put in to force him to remember."
"That one thing..." Xiong Jingfei frowned. "Almost anything can be that one thing! He found the koi fish pouch and jade flute, but it doesn't seem like it did much for him. He even painted a picture of me from the past, but nothing there too."
She thought she knew Yang Zheyan, but obviously, she was wrong, and that's how her life came to an end. How is she supposed to find that one special something to trigger his memories?
"A painted picture of you?" Yin Yuan asked. "Where? I would LOVE to see it."
"It's hung proudly in Guiying Hui Museum."
"At least that tells us he recalls some stuff." Yin Yuan's voice suddenly went into serious mode. "Feifei… What are you planning to do to him? Please don't tell me I have to cover up a murder case for you. It'll be difficult, but it's doable."
"If so, I would have let Wen Yingyue touch him that night, or push him into a crowd filled with women." Xiong Jingfei laughed as she went back inside.
She stared down at Yang Zheyan and touched his face with her cold fingers. He grimaced but quickly adjusted to the temperature like he liked the refreshing coolness.
She smiled and said, "I want to break his heart as he did to mine."
Yin Yuan felt a chill go down his back. He may not be there with her in person, but he felt like he was there to see her scary face. He asked, "You're with him right now, aren't you?"
"Yes, and to clarify, I wasn't kidnapped. I went with him willingly."
Xiong Jingfei strolled around his room until she stepped on a piece of paper. She recognized it immediately because it was the invitation card personally given by Wen Yingyue. That night they used Lu Weisheng's invitation, so Yang Zheyan didn't need to bring his.
She picked it up, and basketball tossed it into Yang Zheyan's trash bin. "I want Wen Yingyue to taste what it's like getting something taken away. The only thing she ever wanted but will never get the chance to have it, ever."
"That'll be an interesting sight." Yin Yuan burst out laughing. "Then what about the Imperial family who sentenced your family? I'm sure you already know that they're here too… Since you met two of them already?"
"The Imperial family…" Xiong Jingfei stopped strolling, and flashes of the crown prince at Wen Yingyue's party kept popping into her head. "I… Can't…"
Yin Yuan raised an eyebrow to hear that she won't do anything to them. They were the family who brought the misery onto Xiong Jingfei, and that's how her engagement to Yang Zheyan came to an end. A family that once put the death sentence on her family, but she won't seek revenge on them?
"Yuan, it was you who spread the story of Xiong Jingfei, right?"
Yin Yuan went quiet for a second before answering, "Yes, it was me. I did it to catch your attention and speed up your memories."
He decided to let it go for now on why Xiong Jingfei won't take her revenge on them. If she was going to tell him, she would've and wouldn't have changed the topic.
"Then can you tell me who wrote the poem hanging in the museum? It was said that it was written for me." Xiong Jingfei clenched her hands into a fist as each sentence on that poem came back to her. "Is it-"
"I don't know who wrote it, but it's not who you think it is." Yin Yuan quickly cut her off. "Feifei, let me tell you a piece of information to help you get started."
Xiong Jingfei perked up her ear.
"There is a huge plot of land owned by the Yang and Lu family, and they share it. Do you know what used to be on that piece of land?" Yin Yuan killed his cigarette as his eyes darkened. "Deep into the forest, it's the place of our old homes, Lou Zemin Capital."
