Chapter 217 - Reliving It (2)

"This sucks…" Xiong Jingfei mumbled, leaning her head against the carriage's wooden walls. "When can I wake up?" 

It was already the second day since Xiong Jingfei had been stuck in her dream. There was no way of waking herself up to the present as of yet. 

"Get out!"

Xiong Jingfei opened her eyes to a sky filled with little diamonds. It was only at night will the kidnappers allow them out of the carriage. It was to make it harder for them to escape and see at night, plus there was no way to tell where they were going.

The first night, the kidnappers had one girl at a time get off the carriage, but tonight, they allowed all of them to get off. That's because their hands were tied behind their backs compared to the first night.

"D-don't come near me!" Pink Girl screamed at one of the kidnappers that were reaching for her white veil. "You won't get away with this!" 

"I'm helping you," One of the kidnappers creepily smiled as he ripped the white veil off. "Now, don't you feel better having your beautiful face revealed?" 

Xiong Jingfei could see the shock and humiliation on Pink Girl's face. 

"Your skin is so soft and white," He touched Pink Girl's face with his dirty fingers. "How about I have you to myself- Ah!" 

The kidnappers grabbed onto his shin that was kicked by Xiong Jingfei, who was tied next to Pink Girl. Instead of getting angry that she kicked him, his dirty eyes gleamed, "You also have nice features too. Are you jealous because I forgot about you?" 

"I wouldn't do anything to any of us if I were you. Can't you see that we are valuable goods?" Xiong Jingfei raised an eyebrow, but her heart was beating like crazy against her chest. She was hoping none of them could hear it. "What kind of profit can you make with damaged goods?" 

The nasty kidnapper took a second to think over, but it will truly be a waste to let them go without doing anything. 

"Stop it." An older looking kidnapper said, putting his firm hands on the creepy kidnapper's shoulders. "I need the money from this group." 

"Fine." The creepy kidnapper forcefully spitted out.

Xiong Jingfei sighed in relief. Thank goodness one of them cared more about the profit than anything else. Even if she knows this is a dream, she should be careful because she isn't waking up from it. 

"Pink girl." 

Pink Girl glared at Xiong Jingfei, "If you want me to thank you, I won't. I didn't ask you to save me, crazy girl." 

"I wasn't expecting a thank you from a bratty girl." Xiong Jingfei muttered under her breath and continued before Pink Girl could open her mouth. "I need your help to escape from here." 

"You are crazy! Why should I help you?"

"Unless you want tomorrow night to be your wedding night?" Xiong Jingfei tilted her head to the side and smiled. She may be stuck in her teenager's body, but her mindset was of an a.d.u.l.t from modern times. It wasn't hard to scare a teenager. 

"What do I need to do?" Pink Girl gave in at the thought after what that kidnapper did to her. "T-there is no one to help us." 

"This is why you have to save yourself." 

Xiong Jingfei switched her position so Pink Girl can untie the ropes on her wrists. After doing it, she returned the favor and untied Pink Girl's hand and the rest of the girls. But, they quietly sat in the same position with their hands behind their back like it wasn't untied.

"Pink Girl, give me your outer robe." 

Pink Girl's eyes became wide as an owl as she refused to give her outer robe. She cannot have on one layer only!

"Another humiliation won't make a difference!" Xiong Jingfei hissed, having a tug of war with Pink Girl. "If I didn't need it, I wouldn't even bother asking you for it." 

"Why don't you take off your clothes!?"

"Then I would be escaping n.a.k.e.d!" Xiong Jingfei said as she was finally able to pull off the outer robe from Pink Girl. "Goodness!"

While this was happening between Xiong Jingfei and Pink Girl, most of the kidnappers were already asleep. The only one on watch walked away from the group to take his business elsewhere. This was probably their one and only chance to escape. 

Xiong Jingfei quietly tip-toed towards the firepit that kept those kidnappers warm from the cold night. She let the edge of Pink Girl's outer robe lit up into flame as she ran to the wooden carriage and tossed it on top of it. 

"Quickly! Run!" Xiong Jingfei ran back to the group and pulled them up.

"The horses are on fire!" 

"Cut the rope holding them to the carriage!"

"W-wait for me!" 

Xiong Jingfei turned around and quickly grabbed Pink Girl by the arm. She had tripped on her dress and was afraid they would leave her behind. 

The darkness was a good and bad thing for them. One, it helped conceal them, but it also prevented them from seeing where they were going. 

During the escape, Xiong Jingfei picked up a child who couldn't run anymore while Pink Girl held onto the child's other hand to assist. 

"L-let's rest for a bit." Pink Girl heavily breathed and leaned her arm against a tree. "I-I can't run anymore." 

"Okay," Xiong Jingfei agreed, as she could no longer hear the voices of the kidnappers. "Just for a bit only." 

"Stop crying! Do you want all of us to die?" Pink Girl yelled at a child crying her eyes out. "Be quiet, or we will leave you behind." 

"Pink Girl, stop yelling at her. You're doing nothing but making her cry even louder!" Xiong Jingfei yelled, covering the crying girl's mouth. "Don't cry, okay? That big sister has a foul mouth. I will yell at her for you." 

Pink Girl's eyes widened, "Why do you keep calling me Pink Girl? I have a name too!"

"You don't see me complaining that you're calling me crazy girl." Xiong Jingfei shrugged. She finds it useless to know the name of Pink Girl. If she can't remember this event, then this is nothing more than a fleeting moment of her past. 

"My name is-" Pink Girl stopped for a second before continuing, "Mae…"

"Mae?" Xiong Jingfei raised an eyebrow that Pink Girl didn't give her a surname. "Then, I'm not called crazy girl but Feifei."

Pink Girl's name is Mae, but Xiong Jingfei doesn't recall any high-class noble daughters by that name. Since Mae wasn't willing to give her surname to Xiong Jingfei, she didn't find any reason to tell her that she is Xiong Guozhi's daughter.

For the remainder of the night, most of the girls fell asleep except for Xiong Jingfei. Unlike them, she wasn't finding a way to escape but a way to wake up. 

"Get up! Hurry!" Xiong Jingfei quickly shook each of the girls awake as quickly and quietly as possible. "Run, they're here." 

Now that daylight was breaking in. It might give them a chance to see their surroundings.

"Sister! Don't leave me!" 

The one screaming for Xiong Jingfei to stop was the same child that was crying that night. She was no more than seven years old. Even if this was a dream of the past, Xiong Jingfei couldn't find herself leaving a child behind. She looked just like Xiong Jiayi that day in prison when she pulled on her arms and begged her not to go. 

"What are you doing!?" Mae pulled on her arms to stop her from running back. "It's too late for her, but w-we can-"

Xiong Jingfei pulled her arms away from Mae and pushed her forward with the rest of the running girls, "Pink Girl, run and go find help."

This is just a dream of the past! I won't die here… I didn't die here!
