“Your wish is…”
Duke Kyar didn’t let her finish.
The wish coupon in his grip touched her palm when he clutched her hand on the chair.
Now, their fingers were intertwined.
She could feel his long, thick fingers between hers and her heart pounded fast.
“Kiss.”
Only a word had spilled from Duke Kyar’s lips, but Isabella’s blue eyes had widened in shock from its intensity.
“Ki–”
Duke Kyar parted his lips before they sank into the soft pink petals of her mouth.
When their lips touched, his tongue had penetrated through the gap.
Her hooded eyes had closed from the slow and delicious warmth overwhelming her senses.
It felt different from the first kiss she had had with him before.
Isabella couldn’t get herself together at all.
Their intertwined tongues made her breath turn into short gasps.
All the cells in her body were too focused on how their tongues tangled and caressed each other.
Isabella couldn’t believe that this physical act between them could evoke such chemistry.
Unfortunately, no chemical formula could fully replicate and express this kind of high.
She was glad that Duke Kyar’s grip on her tightened, or else the intensity of this new and thrilling sensation might sweep her away to somewhere where she couldn’t go back.
*Sigh*
Duke Kyar gradually withdrew his lips from hers, and Isabella exhaled the breath she had been suppressing.
With his handsome face still close to hers, Duke Kyar exhaled a heavy sigh.
Just staring into the depths of his dark eyes made Isabella want to kiss him again.
“I wish that every day is my birthday.”
Duke Kyar raised his free hand to touch her kiss-swollen lips, and Isabella blushed with every stroke of his thumb.
“Unfortunately, the wish coupon doesn’t allow the recipient to ask for love and marriage,” Duke murmured and slowly released her hand.
“I’m sorry to hear that.”
Marriage is a bit of a problem, but Isabella should have told him that it was okay if Duke Kyar asked for her love.
Now, she felt regretful because it was too late to change it.
If Duke Kyar asked her to date, Isabella would be willing to accept him.
She had no will to pretend that she couldn’t.
“Well, I will be looking forward to my birthday next year.”
“Why?”
“By that point, I hope you would write that love and marriage is possible on the wish coupon.”
What on earth is this man thinking?
She couldn’t understand why Duke Kyar could be patient this time.
He usually runs her over like a bulldozer.
In addition to that, Isabella had to wait for his birthday to come next year.
Weren’t they going to date until then?
“Well, Your Highness—”
“I know. I apologize if you think that things between us are happening too fast and you didn’t expect it. But, I’ll wait until your heart is open for me.”
Duke Kyar stroked her head with a large hand, and Isabella glanced up at him.
Isabella was about to tell him that they didn’t have to wait until his birthday next year, but since he said that he would be taking his time, she lost her train of thought.
“Is this medicine for me?” He asked, tapping at the wooden box over the desk.
“Yes, but how did you find the wish coupon?”
The wish coupon was inside the wooden box containing the health supplements, and Isabella kept the wooden box inside her desk drawer, and the bracelet and necklace Duke Kyar had given her as a gift.
Since he found the wooden box in her desk drawer, perhaps—-
“Have you checked out my desk drawer, Your Highness?”
She asked sharply, and Duke Kyar coughed low.
“I’ll enjoy the supplements you gave me, Isabella. I have to go.”
Duke Kyar avoided her pointed questions and quickly picked the wooden box up.
As she watched him walk towards the door, Isabella spoke, “You should only take medicine once a day, Your Highness. The best time would be to eat it as soon as you wake up in the morning.” Isabella explained, and Duke Kyar nodded with a chuckle.
She bit at her nails as she watched him leave her bedroom.
He would ask her out next year, wouldn’t he?
“Well, I think so. His Highness did everything he had to do.” She muttered.
It’s just that Isabella couldn’t help but feel uneasy.
Perhaps, this was a new strategy of his.
Was he trying to marry her right away out of his impatience?
