The knights lowered their heads at Duke Kyar with the utmost respect.
Hundreds of arrows flew toward the boundary at the same time.
The magical beasts shot by these arrows squeaked and disappeared in an instant.
Fortunately, the number of arrows fired was significantly higher than the number of magical beasts within existing boundaries.
Duke Kyar drew a relieved sigh at the sight.
“I need to rest for about five minutes.” Duke Kyar said tiredly.
“Well done, Allen. Just take a little rest before you have to suffer again. You will finally have a good rest once the royal military arrives. The wizards will be here, as well.”
“Yes. Thank god.” Duke Kyar responded before approaching Isabella.
“Didn’t I tell you not to come here, Isabella?” Duke Kyar asked her with a frown. Isabella slowly reached out to him.
“I heard about what happened. I was so worried about you that I couldn’t stay still. I missed you a lot, Your Highness. You made me so anxious.” Isabella said honestly, and Duke Kyar suppressed a smirk when she clutched onto his arm tightly.
“I was so angry when I found out that you’re coming over. But now that I see you here, I don’t think I am angry anymore.” Duke Kyar stroked Isabella’s head affectionately. “I’ve missed you too, Isabella.”
His sincere words touched her heart.
Isabella hurriedly took medicine from the box she had brought with her and gave it to him.
“You didn’t even have time to drink this, did you? Drinking this will help you, Your Highness. You have wasted too much of your energy.”
“I’m all right now.”
“Just hurry up and drink it for me, please.” She urged.
Duke Kyar nodded and took medicine into his mouth.
Isabella was regretful that she only had five minutes to talk to him.
“I will be back in about four or five minutes.”
He said as he pulled a small watch out of his pocket.
Isabella nodded at the reassurance.
“Then, I’ll just hand out these medications to the wounded knights in the meantime.”
“You should get the footmen to help you as well. You must go now, Isabella.”
“All right, but don’t you need something to eat? I have sandwiches and water here.”
Duke Kyar grabbed her hand when she tried to get the food out of her bag.
“Let’s just stay like this for the remaining minutes I have. This is more useful to me. Even better than food.”
He said while holding her hand tightly.
Isabella was relieved to find out that his body temperature was still warm when he touched her hand.
“Time flies like an arrow.” He murmured in amusement as if he liked wasting time with her.
She felt the same as well.
They were wasting time.
It became clear to Isabella how special the Archduke was to her after this experience.
But then, the cracks in the boundaries had widened even more.
Duke Kyar clenched his teeth as he watched the number of magical beasts swarming out of the holes.
“You must go home now, Isabella.”
Duke Kyar growled and released her hand.
Isabella quickly ran to Prince Victor’s side.
When she saw a magical beast approach the Archduke, she hurriedly took the bow on her shoulder and shot an arrow toward it.
The beast got struck, burning to ashes in an instant before it even had the chance to hurt the Archduke.
Isabella let out a sigh of relief.
“Wow, your archery skills are more amazing than I could have imagined,” Prince Victor exclaimed after witnessing her shots in person.
“If Isabella is still here with us, I will beat you to death, Rafael.” Duke Kyar glowered at him.
Prince Victor shut his mouth immediately.
“Go home now, Isabella.”
“Sister, you must return to Rubella Castle.” Kyle, who stood next to Duke Kyar, added.
“Kyle, you should go with Isabella, too.” Duke Kyar spoke again as he froze all the magical beasts pouring out from the cracks.
“I’m alright, uncle.”
“But I’m not alright with it, Kyle. If you like to help me, go and take care of the work I left behind! That is more useful!” Archduke bellowed.
Kyle nodded.
“Yes, Uncle.”
“Kyle.” Duke Kyar called him with gentle affection this time.
“It’s your responsibility to protect the Kyar Household when I’m not there. I trust that you can do it. You are the only other person I could rely on.” Duke Kyar said kindly, and it impressed Kyle’s young mind.
“Yes. I’ll do my best to help you in any way, uncle.” Kyle promised.
“Please take care of Isabella.”
“I will.”
Breathing hard from all the snow, Isabella was amazed at Duke Kyar and Kyle’s empowering conversation.
