Chapter 3
After receiving this paper ball, Ye Zhou thought that he should talk to Shang Jin. Anyone who’s purposefully pointed out by the entire class wouldn’t be too comfortable in their mind. As long as he explained it clearly to Shang Jin, and then Shang Jin explained it to everyone, then all the misunderstandings would disappear.
He took out his cell phone and prepared to send a message to Shang Jin. But when he opened his contact list, there simply wasn’t the other’s contact information.
Ye Zhou supported his forehead. If he’d known earlier, he would have stored all his classmates’ cell phone numbers at the start of school.
However, just because he hadn’t, didn’t mean that others hadn’t.
Ye Zhou turned around and the buddy in the back row eagerly said, “Zhou, what’s up?”
“Do you have Shang Jin’s phone number?”
As a result, the buddy looked at him, and then looked at Shang Jin who was not far away. The look on his face seemed to say: “You guys are obviously in the same room. Why do you give up the near and seek the far?”
When Ye Zhou saw him like this, he hurriedly waved his hand and said, “Just pretend I didn’t ask.”
As a result, halfway through the second class, the student in the back row poked him in the back. Ye Zhou leaned against the back of the chair and glanced at him out of the corner of his eyes. He found that the other person had placed a folded note at the edge of the table.
Ye Zhou pulled out the corners of his mouth. He actually would like to see what the people in his class could toss out this time.
Ye Zhou took the note and didn’t immediately open it. Instead, he waited for the teacher on the podium to let everyone do self-study before he took it out.
“Shang Jin, height: 185cm, weight: 76kg, family: unknown, favorite color: unknown, favorite food: unknown, favorite animal: unknown, favorite season: unknown, favorite celebrity: unknown…”
Fuck…was this bunch of unknown things written up to make up the number of words?? And he only wanted to know Shang Jin’s phone number. He’s not even a little interested in his height, weight, and interests.
Ye Zhou’s hand that was holding the note slowly tightened, and he was ready to lump it into a ball when his gaze landed on the phone number written in the very corner.
Eleven numbers squeezed into a less than two centimeters of space, Ye Zhou looked at it from far and from near several times before he finally wrote the number down.
During the break, Ye Zhou sent a message to Shang Jin.
Ye Zhou: Do you have time at noon?
After sending out this text message, Ye Zhou kept staring at Shang Jin. He just saw the other person picked up the phone, looked at it, and put the phone down…put it down…down…
One move didn’t work, then try another move.
Ye Zhou looked at the time and decided that, at noon when everyone was taking their naps, he’d go to the dorm to find Shang Jin. It would be best if he could avoid everyone’s eyes and ears.
There was only one room between the two people’s dorm rooms. Ye Zhou had lunch and stayed in the dormitory for a while. He waited until the other three roommates had gone to bed before getting dressed. Taking a deep breath, he sorted out the words he wanted to say in his head, and went out.
The dorm room next door had its door closed, and Ye Zhou smiled slightly as he walked to Shang Jin’s dorm.
Maybe God couldn’t continue watching Ye Zhou be so misunderstood: Shang Jin’s dorm door was incredibly opened, and Shang Jin was alone inside.
God was simply helping him too!!
Ye Zhou knocked on the door intently. Shang Jin turned his head and the two people’s eyes met.
“Talk?”
Shang Jin shrugged his shoulders. He didn’t say yes, but he also didn’t refuse.
Ye Zhou maintained the principle that implicit consent was still consent, and walked into Shang Jin’s dorm room, closing the gap in the door in passing.
Ye Zhou arrived in front of Shang Jin and was about to speak when his eyes accidentally swept over Shang Jin’s table and he was suddenly stunned. Ye Zhou had always thought that Shang Jin’s ‘hard to smile once in ten thousand years’ kind of disposition should show that the other was a serious and conscientious person. A serious and conscientious person would certainly take care of their desk and bed and keep them neat and tidy.
But right before his eyes, the various books and magazines were strewn all over the place on the table without any trace of a gap. What was this situation??
If he hadn’t seen Shang Jin holding a glass of water and gesturing to where he was setting the cup down, Ye Zhou wouldn’t have equated this extremely messy table with Shang Jin.
Ye Zhou looked up and deliberately looked at the quilt rolled up into a ball. The notebook was also placed casually on the bed, and the mouse power cord was tangled together. Ye Zhou had somewhat of a headache when he looked at this.
Shang Jin gestured for a half a day but couldn’t find a foothold for the cup. Then, he used his arm to push aside the book, cell phone, and charger on the table edge, and finally had room for the water cup.
Ye Zhou couldn’t help but say, “Can’t you tidy up the table?”
Shang Jin didn’t even think before replying, “Anyway, these books are used often. Once they’re tidied up, I’d still have to take them out.”
“But if you put things in order, it’ll be convenient to find them later.” Ye Zhou, as a person with strong self-sufficient capability, had never run into a situation where he wasn’t able to find something. “If you don’t tidy up now, you’d waste your time later.” For example, people in their dorm sometimes spent an hour trying to find something.
Shang Jin sneered, “You haven’t even caught me yet, and you still want to start managing me?”
In a phrase, Ye Zhou was suddenly reminded of his purpose for coming today.
“Almost forgot about the business. I just wanted to tell you that yesterday was really a misunderstanding. Those photos were taken for my friend…”
Shang Jin raised his hand and stopped his next words. “I’ve said that it doesn’t matter if you like me. You don’t need to explain anything to me. Anyway, it has no effect on my life.”
“I’m telling the truth!” Ye Zhou hurriedly said, “How could you not believeー”
With a bang, the dormitory door was kicked open from the outside.
“Aiyo, it’s so inconvenient to hold a quilt…”
“This is thanks to me, otherwise, you have so many things to take…”
Liu Yutian and Wen Renxu came in with one person holding the bedding and the other carrying a suitcase. After seeing the two people in the room, they were immediately petrified in place.
Ye Zhou obviously didn’t expect the other party to come back while they were talking. He suddenly stood up and stammered to explain, “I…I’m looking for…”
Liu Yutian’s spirit returned first. He changed the arm wrapping around the quilt and dragged Wen Renxu’s collar with his spare hand, and laughingly said, “Pretend we don’t exist. You guys continue…continue…” After saying this, he even considerately closed the door. In less than a second, his head stretched in and said, “I’ll help you keep watch. I’ll make sure that even a fly can’t fly in…”
Why was there a self-defeating kind of feeling? Ye Zhou covered his heart, feeling that he really needed a Heart Rescue Pill recently. [T/N: 救心丸 – Jiuxin Pill]
He pointed at the two people who had just left and said, “Do you think this has no effect on you? Look at their faces and their expressions. If you don’t make it clear to them, this gaze will accompany you for the next three years. And this morning, you saw that once you entered the classroom, everyone coughed here and coughed there. You don’t feel bothered at all?”
“Why bothered?” Shang Jin puzzled, “What they want to do is their business.”
“You don’t care about being pointed at?”
“I seem to have always been the talk of others, and there’s not much to it.”
Ye Zhou choked. As the influential man of the school, Shang Jin’s awareness was really high enough. But this wasn’t the point. The point is that this impacted me!!!
Ye Zhou simply wanted to become a roaring emperor. He restrained his temper and gave in, “Then just take it that I’m begging you, okay? Help me this once, just one sentence.”
Shang Jin looked at his desk and looked at Ye Zhou. He considered it for two seconds and said, “OK, just…”
Ye Zhou said nervously, “Just what??”
“It’s like this: I’ll help you with this, and you’ll help me to tidy up the table.”
“No problem.” Ye Zhou originally didn’t have much hope. He didn’t expect that Shang Jin was so easy to deal with. At the thought that he would finally be able to wash away the label of perverted, crazy man, Ye Zhou happily hummed a tune. Now, the more he looked at Shang Jin, the more pleasing to the eye he seemed. His hands methodically arranged the books into categories, and his mouth also didn’t stay idle. “You also think that it’s more convenient for your study and life if your desk is neat and tidy, right? In fact, as long as you remember to put back the things when you finish with them, your desk wouldn’t be in disorder.”
Ten minutes later, Ye Zhou happily walked to the door. Hand on the doorknob, he stressed again, “In a moment, just say that yesterday was a misunderstanding. I really don’t like you.”
“You’ve explained it three times already.”
“Lest you forget.” Ye Zhou just opened the dorm door when two people fell to Ye Zhou’s feet. Ye Zhou saw that it was Liu Yutian and Wen Renxu who were just at the door. They laughed with a guilty conscience.
If he didn’t guess wrong, these two people had likely been lying at the door eavesdropping all along, but the luggage around them were gone…Ye Zhou kicked them off and walked next door. The door that had just been closed was open. The luggage that Liu Yutian and Wen Renxu had just carried were quietly lying in the corner. Leaning against the wall to Shang Jin’s dorm were several people, two of which were his own roommates. Obviously when he’d just come out, these two fools were already asleep.
Xu Yangjun, holding a stethoscope from who knew where he’d borrowed it, was seriously moving the stethoscope while bewilderingly saying, “How come I can’t hear the voices?”
Zhou Wendao patted him and whispered, “Shh, shhh…don’t talk!”
Ye Zhou clenched his fists and gave a heavy cough.
Xu Yangjun was scared and threw away the stethoscope. “Zhou…Zhou…why are you here?”
Ye Zhou gave them a cold stare, too lazy to bother with them. Anyway, the truth would be revealed in a moment. He turned his head and gestured at Shang Jin outside to speak.
Shang Jin came in.
All the onlookers held their breath.
Shang Jin strictly followed the lines previously given by Ye Zhou and said, “Everything yesterday was a misunderstanding. Ye Zhou really doesn’t like me.”
When he really heard Shang Jin finish, Ye Zhou was moved to tears. His innocence! It’s finally returned!
“So, everyone shouldn’t make things difficult for Ye Zhou.”
The smile on Ye Zhou’s face instantly crumbled.
