Chapter 39 - Road Blocks

"Ahh!"

As Gu Yicheng's voice fell, the carriage started to move, the entire street was filled with voices and shouts, and among them, the sounds of galloping horses could be heard. The horses were galloping, causing the spectators to panic as they ran, and the clamor was like a cloud of dust, they were being trampled on by the horses' hooves.

Yun Qianliang held her breath and focused in listening to the slight noise, the sounds from the rubble drowning out the panic filled screams for help, there were at least 10 experts lying in ambush around the area.

In the chaos, Chun Hua who was casually grabbed by the shaft of the carriage fell down.

"Chun Hua!" Qiu Yue's face turned pale white, she leaned forward and grabbed the falling person.

Hearing the voice behind him, Yun Qianliang's solemn face revealed unprecedented seriousness, her indifference that seemed to be carved into her bones seemed to have instantly disappeared, as though this person was born with a solemn and upright appearance.

"Gu Yicheng, let's talk about the deal at the end." Yun Qianliang's voice was as calm as water amidst the chaos.

"Talk about it at this time?" Gu Yicheng's tone became more cheerful as he became more interested in the person at his side, "What other conditions do you have in your hands that are enough for me to exchange?"

An undercover agent was a wolf that had been hiding inside the enemy's body all year round. Before receiving any orders, this wolf had to be in a deep sleep in order to be able to sleep better.

"Interesting." Gu Yicheng did not give an accurate answer, and instead, got more excited.

"You only need to answer me. Are you not going to make this deal?" Yun Qianliang did not smile.

"It depends on whether you have the ability to do so. This time, you owe me." Gu Yicheng smirked and ordered in a cold voice, "Gu San, leave the city."

The horse carriage sped up, and the sound behind him gradually died down. Yun Qianliang heaved a sigh of relief.

Gu Yicheng had already expected that someone would attack him, so after leaving the city, he casually packed up his sleeves and belt, but with a sword leaning on the side of his legs, the atmosphere became more serious, unlike his relaxed appearance.

"Can you use a sword?" Gu Yicheng loosened the jade on his sleeve.

Yun Qianliang shook her head, "I only know some martial arts."

She was proficient in all kinds of martial arts in her previous life, so she was able to use it. However, this body was too different from her previous body. Her attacks might not be able to achieve the same effect as the previous ones.

Yun Qianliang did not retort, and the carriage stopped along with his words.

The sounds of arrows piercing through the air mixed with the clashing of blades. Yun Qianliang immediately laid down and dodged sharp arrows.

Gu Yicheng sat steadily, only moving his body and head to avoid the arrows shooting at him. He looked at the man lying on the ground with a smile, "Qian Qian Qian, you only care about your own safety, aren't you too heartless?"

"I believe that your strength does not need my reminder." Yun Qianliang smiled.

She had sharp ears and could easily dodge long-ranged attacks. Therefore, when she heard the sound of arrows piercing through the air, she had already determined the position in her mind. She knew that hiding in the limited space was safer.

Gu Yicheng was a martial artist, it was impossible for his not to notice that someone was plotting something, so she didn't need to remind him.

"If you want this, then you really can't use it." Gu Yicheng pulled out an arrow and wiped it with his finger.

"If the prime minister is afraid, he can protect me for free." Yun Qianliang didn't mind ashe retorted. In the corner of her eyes, she was full of energy again, but the light in her eyes had not faded at all.

"How can you bear the name of my treacherous official?" Gu Yicheng shook his head and rejected.

After saying this, his eyes became cold and his expression became serious. His finger lightly twirled the arrow in a circle and then he fiercely threw it out.

In the blink of an eye, a big blade slashed down from the sky, the carriage split into two, and Gu Yicheng leapt out from the side with his person.

When Gu Yicheng appeared, he immediately provoked a group attack, causing several weapons to flash past his eyes, all of them were blocked.

The small forest path was quiet and devoid of people. Only the sounds of swords and sabers could be heard.

"It is truly disrespectful of you to make a move against my wife in front of me." Gu Yicheng taunted, he turned his wrist slightly, causing the sword to deflect the enemy's attack towards Yun Qianliang. He turned his body, changing Yun Qianliang to a safe place behind him, the sword struck the enemy's right wrist, he made a tricky move, causing the enemy to have no choice but to signal for retreat.

Just as he retreated, the enemy had already arrived, so Yun Qianliang could only rely on his many years of experience to avoid the danger, but he could not care about anything else.

She only saw that the sword had cut her beautiful neck, and in that moment, it failed to retract its momentum, and almost stabbed at Gu Yicheng.

Fortunately, Gu Yicheng reacted quickly and managed to avoid the attack with his sword.

"Qian Qian, this isn't good." Gu Yicheng alarmingly complained, he then picked up his sword and attacked, causing the situation to change.

But before Yun Qianliang's guilt filled her heart, Gu Yicheng's attacks suddenly became stern, he pulled Yun Qianliang's hand and suddenly flung him into the air, leaving her position behind. Like the wind, she swept her sword across the enemy troops, her every move was extremely sharp.

When Yun Qianliang was about to be attacked, he had already grabbed onto Yun Qianliang's hand and pulled him back.

"…" Yun Qianliang's guilt was directly fed to the dog.

She did not want to arouse too much suspicion, and even more so, did not want Gu Yicheng to overestimate her, so she did not want to reveal too much.

Gu Yicheng took note of her movements. He happily raised his eyebrows and focused on dealing with the enemies around him.

Amidst the flying leaves, the figure in black clothes was surrounded by the enemies. Like an eagle fighting in the sky, his sword flew up and down, slashing the tranquility on the ground. Every move he made was filled with killing intent and blood color.

That was the most dazzling light in the sky, and no one could match it.
