Chapter 586: End of the festival

Joo Soohyuk waited for Ahn Dain, pressing on his chest that was about to burst.

If he were to pick the most exciting day of his year, he would pick today with no hesitation.

In fact, he was as nervous as the day he saw Ahn Dain's first smile, but he was more excited now because they were about to go on a date, no, the festival together.

‘I can’t believe Dain asked me to go to the festival with her!’

After safely finding Joo Soori, Ahn Dain invited Joo Soohyuk to go around the festival together.

Upon hearing her words, Joo Soohyuk almost dug into the ground.

He almost hit his head on the floor in an ugly way, but Ahn Dain quickly supported Joo Soohyuk.

When he looked up to say thank you, their faces became so close to each other that Joo Soohyuk almost fell again.

Had Ahn Dain not been firmly holding him, he would surely have pathetically lied on the floor.

‘This is reality but it feels like a dream.’

Joo Soohyuk’s excitement peaked while watching Class 1-1’s treasure hunt.

Ahn Dain looked dignified and beautiful as she fought alongside her classmates.

When he thought about it, Joo Soohyuk’s cheeks felt like they were burning as the day he was caught by Ahn Dain.

‘I was worried because it was a little awkward during the finals, but I guess it was just my imagination.’

Joo Soohyuk headed to their meeting place with tactless thoughts.

Ahn Dain was quietly reading a cyan book.

Her brave appearance of bravely shooting a canon at Yong Jegun and hitting an enemy’s vital point was like a camelia flower blooming in a snowstorm, while her appearance of turning a book’s page was like a pure daffodil.

Joo Soohyuk took a few deep breaths and cleared his voice before finally talking to her.

“Have you been waiting for a long time, Dain-ah?”

Ahn Dain raised her head and closed the book when she heard Joo Soohyuk’s voice.

“No, you’re actually earlier than our meeting time.”

The winter flower-like Ahn Dain greeted Joo Soohyuk warmly.

Ahn Dain was happy to meet Joo Soohyuk, but her mind was still occupied by the conversation she had with Yong Jegun.

‘There’s a royal lineage going after Professor Kim Shinrok? So does that mean Professor is keeping a distance from us because he’s afraid we’ll be in danger?’

From Ahn Dain’s perspective, Kim Shinrok was a puzzle-like teacher.

Even if Kim Shinrok tried to desperately hide the solved version of his puzzle, Ahn Dain could see the real picture when she patiently solves it.

Ahn Dain knew how difficult it was to treat a student that stands out, even if he was a teacher that embodies fairness and kindness.

Kim Shinrok was a loving teacher who does that difficult job casually, but he draws the line very clearly, staying wary of students who get a little too close.

‘I guess Professor Kim Shinrok had no choice but to do that.’

She was with Joo Soohyuk for the first time in a long time, but she couldn’t focus on enjoying the festival because of her complicated mood.

Joo Soohyuk navigated Ahn Dain’s complicated emotions and led the conversation, choosing topics that were easy to talk about.

‘I guess she’s sad that the treasure-hunting event ended in a draw. I should help her relax while looking around the festival.’

Joo Soohyuk tried to come up with a plan that could soothe Ahn Dain’s mind.

In preparation for today, he memorized the outline and locations of all the festival booths the previous night, but it wasn’t easy thinking of a plan.

Dingdong.

At that moment, Joo Soohyuk’s device rang.

He excused himself and checked the message in case it was urgent just like the incidents that happened yesterday.

Checking the sender, Joo Soohyuk wondered.

‘It’s Euishin?’

The message sent by Jo Euishin was short, but it contained the most necessary information that Joo Soohyuk needed.

It was as if Jo Euishin knew the situation that Joo Soohyuk was in and gave him a huge helping hand.

Though he doubted if the situation was real, he was willing to get help from his friend.

“There’s a place I want to stop by, Dain-ah.”

Joo Soohyuk smiled, thinking of Ahn Dain’s delight.

Seeing Joo Soohyuk’s sunshine-like face, Ahn Dain’s cloudy expression brightened.

***

The suspicious measures prepared in collaboration with Moon Saeron were showing their power at this moment.

“Wow...!”

Ahn Dain exclaimed as her expression broke.

Her eyes wandered around the booth which was narrower than the classroom.

“Yeah, our little Olmu’s a genius so I’m sure you’ll pass all the tests.”

“Hahahaha! Manage your head, Jo Euishin.”

Hwang Jiho took issue, but it didn’t bother me.

Hwang Jiho prepared such a big gift today that I can accept generously whatever nonsense he wants to say.

Ahn Dain, who had been speechless after seeing Olmu, came our way.

“Can I hug Olmu too, Euishin-ah?”

Woof!

Olmu gave consent.

As Cotton Wool in PMH did, Olmu acted cute with his sparkling eyes as he showed a fondness for Ahn Dain.

Ahn Dain carefully picked up Olmu and talked to him.

“The school uniform looks really good on you. How about joining Class One, Olmu-yah? Our class adviser is a good person.”

Professor Ham Geunhyung is a good person too though.

It’s up to Olmu to decide which class to join, but I hope he’d join ours.

“Haha, you both like dogs so much to joke around like that.”

“I don’t know about Ahn Dain, but I think Jo Euishin’s serious about it.”

I heard Joo Soohyuk and Hwang Jiho talking.

I guess it’s a good match since Joo Soohyuk was close to Class Zero in his own way in PMH.

“Hmm, I guess I arrived at the right time!”

Then, Moon Saeron arrived and completed the last move that I prepared.

She naturally talked to Joo Soohyuk and Ahn Dain.

“I’m going to cover the booth prepared by the Suspicious VP, so please allow me to interview you.”

The two readily agreed.

With this, they can have a picture of their first date and the moment they spent together at the festival.

I didn’t think the two of them would take pictures on their own, though I think they’ll write it on their diaries later on.

While I was pleased with how things turned out, a message arrived on my device.

[Yeom Junyeol] How’s the festival going, Euishin-ah?

[Yeom Junyeol] Hello, teacher. Do you have some time to spare?

I expected Yeom Junyeol’s message.

He’s calling me because of his work as a student representative.

I wasn’t the only one who received a message as I saw Joo Soohyuk and Ahn Dain also check their devices.

“Did you get the message, Euishin-ah?”

“Yeah.”

“That’s good. We can all go together.”

An important event awaited at the end of the festival.

It was the announcement of Eungwang High’s promotional ambassadors for the following year.

I don’t know about the teacher’s side, but the student ambassadors seem to be decided as Joo Soohyuk, Ahn Dain, Dokgo Miro, and me.

Perhaps Yeom Junyeol is planning to introduce us at the school festival to make headlines.

Witnessing the good times of the title hero and heroine, I tried my best to calm down.

Woof woof!

I felt much better thanks to Olmu’s generous duty.

I was going to leave Olmu and the booth to Hwang Jiho, but something was odd.

‘He would’ve laughed at me for having to leave Olmu behind for the ambassador announcement though.’

Did something happen that made Hwang Jiho unable to laugh?

I lowered my voice and asked Hwang Jiho as I handed over Olmu.

“What’s wrong?”

Hwang Jiho couldn’t answer right away.

He pretended to be calm, conscious of the many eyes around us, but I think he was agitated.

Fwaaa...

Hwang Jiho put up a boundary around us and answered.

“A trace of Cheongho and Shinin was found outside Korea.”
