The moment I saw the newly added profession in the status window, I snapped my fingers.

“Mapper, huh? Just what I need!”

In a pioneering academy, once the initial preparations for pioneering have been made and the living infrastructure has been secured, the exploration begins.

This is the equivalent of searching for places where useful materials can be found or doing preliminary research to further expand the base.

There are bound to be monsters and underground labyrinth dungeons around, so this is where the combat students come into their work as well.

They accompany the mapmakers as bodyguards as they create the maps.

In return, they receive the completed map and use it for further exploration.

“I was going to buy a map made by one of the other students…”

But I couldn’t find anyone who would sell it to me, so I didn’t know what I was going to do.

“But now, problem solved!”

I ran out of the house with great enthusiasm, ready to start making a map of the area.

But then I realized something.

“Oh, but I don’t have anything to write on.”

Students who become mapmakers are given a set of writing utensils as their initial equipment.

But I’m unemployed, so I haven’t received anything.

“As expected, without anything to write with, there’s nothing I can do…”

As I was pondering this, I saw a leaflet blowing in the wind and stuck to my leg.

When I picked it up and read it, I found it was a description of a person.

It was the same as my “Slave Ticket” portrait, with a portrait of me with a touch of evil.

Underneath it is, “If this face rings a bell, run! This student has a complex about being unemployed and incapable of anything, and he’s jealous of us! He uses the power of drugs to create hallucinations and make himself look like he has abilities! Even more despicable, they take advantage of the girls’ weaknesses and make obscene demands! There have been a number of cases of forced massages and forced kisses.”

“Who’s spreading these rumors?”

But now I know why there’s no end to the people who get involved with me.

As I was about to tear up the leaflet, “Gyaah!” I heard a distant scream.

I looked up and saw many of the same leaflets scattered around the entrance to the forest.

On the other side of the forest, there was a male student being chased by Tom, the black panther.

The boy was being rolled and trampled all over by Tom.

In the end, he was covered in paw stamps and ran back to his living quarters.

Just as I guessed.

“Hahaa~. I guess they were trying to put up flyers on my wall to harass me.”

But Tom found out and chased him around, so he probably left the leaflets and ran away.

Then it hit me.

“That’s right, I’ve

got the paper!”

I picked up the leaflets that were scattered around.

In no time at all, I had enough paper for several notebooks.

I didn’t want to see that hoax again, so I quickly closed the appraisal window without reading it all the way through.

I closed the appraisal window without finishing it.

“Now all I need is something to write on it and I’ll have ……!”

From there, I didn’t need to hesitate anymore.

I quickly headed back to the house.

“I believe I still have some leftover Ogrewood from the scrap wood.”

I took the Ogrewood wood out of my pocket and used the large boar knife to cut it into pieces the size of my fingers.

I put it into the forest kiln that I had built when I was a potter.

All that’s left to do is to put in the firewood, wait a while, and it will be ready for use…….

“Charcoal is ready! Ogrewood is suitable for making charcoal, so you get a processing bonus!”

The charcoal from the Ogrewood was a beautiful jet black color with no irregularities.

“It would be a shame to destroy it, but ……”

I took out the Granite Clay Mortar from my coat pocket.

It’s the one I made when I made the mortar I gave to Akemi.

I put the charcoal in the mortar and ground it with the handle of my knife.

“After that, I added some Granite Clay, which I had leftover. I think the best ratio is about seven parts charcoal to three parts clay.”

Since I didn’t have a scale, I tore up the clay by eye and put it in a mortar.

As I kneaded the clay with my hands, the ochre-colored clay quickly turned black as it was covered with charcoal powder.

“I tore this black clay into small pieces and divided them evenly into ……. Then stretch it into a long, round stick.”

I was excited at this point, and I was having fun crafting like a kid playing with clay.

I had about thirty sticks of clay, so I lined them up on a wooden board and slid them into the “Forest Firing Kiln”.

I waited with excitement for the final stage of my first craft to be fired.

And finally, ……!

“It’s done!”

I grabbed my first pencil and tried to write on the back of the leaflet, not caring that my hand would turn black.

It left a solid black stroke on the parchment.

“Yes! Regular charcoal pencils don’t work well with parchment paper, but this one does. This one writes perfectly!”

Like a young child who’s been given his first crayon, I couldn’t stand it any longer.

My whole body was itching, but I managed to control myself and started the final craft.

With a fluttering heart, I changed my job to “Woodcrafter”.

I sliced one of the Gisu stumps that were left in the garden and shaved it into a rectangle to make …….

“Now we have everything we need! All right, let’s get to mapping!”

I ran out of the workshop like a rabbit with a lit butt.

Then, Tom came running up to me with a piece of his pants in his mouth, “Pyaa!”  (I don’t know why a panther makes that sound XD)

“Oh, Tom, thank you for guarding the house.”

“Pyaa!!”

“Yeah, you want to come with me?”

“Pyaa!”

I decided to go with Tom to explore the forest.

(e: This panther sounds cute XD

t: I don’t know why it makes that sound XD)
