Chapter 178: Blizzard [4]

Name:Extra's Descent Author:
Amelia Constantine.

The inheritor of Albert Constantine's [Armament] affinity. However, what set them apart was the fact that Albert could only summon five multiple weapons at a time.

In Amelia's case, her slot continued to increase, ever since she turned nine.

At first, she could only do one. But by the time she turned 18 years-old, she was already able to summon eight.

It was an astonishing feat if she were to compare to her father. After all, her father had only been able to summon five, at the age of 49.

But by the time the calamity struck, and the appearance of her system, it instantly rose to ten summons.

It was by then that Amelia had realized why her growth was exponential, as compared to her father.

[Innate]

∟ Gate — Level 10

∟ Experience — 2%

It was because of her Gate ability.

Each level, it would increase her slot. Meaning, if she continued to progress, her summons would continue to increase.

It was due to the fact of the mana's fluctuation, that the system had revealed its true identity.

The Sovereign's Will, and the Sovereign's Fragment.

In Amelia's case, she had the latter.

Only a portion of a Sovereign's energy.

"Hurrr—"

The wolves took a step back as Amelia approached them.

On her hand was a pistol she had materialized out of mana. Around her, were nine floating magic swords.

Growing up, Amelia had been trained to fight like a duelist.

Due to her family's status, and her talent, she was one of the rising stars that the Imperial Army was eyeing out for.

It wasn't just her, but her best–friend, Belle Locke.

—Awoooo!

The pack of wolves started howling, and ice shot up from the ground, heading for Amelia.

Crack!

However, before it could reach her, one of the magic swords shot down and shattered the ice.

In the process, the sword dissipated, but Amelia had materialized another one to replace it.

The swords continued floating around her.

Pointing the gun's barrel at the wolves, Amelia relaxed her fingers on the trigger.

After the calamity, Amelia's stress bottled up.

Her father's death had cemented her orphaned status. When she was young, she never had a mother.

For unknown reasons, her father had never disclosed the reason for her mother's death.

But it was fine for Amelia.

Her father was a great father.

The best father she could've ever asked for.

And after finding out about his death...

...It completely shattered her heart.

Truth be told, she had never come to terms with his death. Using the amount of work that the Imperial Army had to do as a way to distract her.

Shooting her gun, pure magic energy shot out from the barrel and forcefully pushed the wolves back.

Crash!

Some wolves crashed on the wall, while some staggered on the ground. Using the opportunity, Amelia neared the wolves' on the ground thrusted her sword forward.

Spurt!

For the other wolves that lay on the ground, magic swords relentlessly rained down on them until their body had grown limp.

[You have slain a Frostwolf!]

[+0.3% EXP]

[You have slain a Frostwolf!]

[You have slain a Frostwolf!]

Just like that, she had managed to slay three Frostwolves.

But what caught her interest were their names. Clearly, they weren't ordinary wolves. But for some reason, the system had already known what to call them.

She would have to document this later. It was the first sighting of such creatures.

And for the wolves that crashed on the wall...

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—!

Magic swords relentlessly pierced through the air, killing the wolves in the process.

[You have slain a Frostwolf!]

[You have slain a Frostwolf!]

And just like that, she had quickly wiped out a pack of Frostwolves, even faster than Brandon.

A sort of adrenaline coursed through Amelia.

"This..."

Seems like she found a new way to release her pent up stress.

Killing these creatures...

It felt exhilarating.

She had never felt this way before.

After all, she grew up a bit sheltered. This life or death scenario had sparked something inside her.

Truth be told, Amelia had never wanted to follow in her father's footsteps.

What she wanted was to carve her own path.

To become a ranker.

But out of respect for her late father, she joined the military.

But now?

She was finally living her dream.

And she had Brandon to thank for that.

With him, she felt like she could experience so many new things in life.

"Good job."

Brandon's voice reached her ears from behind her.

"Thanks."

Clap!

The two high–fived, celebrating their first victory.
