"Akh...!"
Brandon screamed in agony. Amelia was anxious, but she couldn't let down her guard at all.
But his arm.
The damage was major. But it was cleanly severed off. If they had time to go to the hospital, th it could be reattached.
That is... if they had time.
It was nothing but a fleeting thought.
"Brandon!"
She approached him, cold sweat beading down her forehead.
Brandon clutched his shoulder tightly as it bled profusely.
Cr... Crack.
Ice started materializing and the bleeding stopped.
It was his only choice.
Flicking her head towards Lumian, Amelia narrowed her eyes and glared at him.
Seething rage boiled within her.
All she could think of at the momt was killing him.
This man.
He had to die.
For Brandon's sake.
Swoosh—!
***
He tried creating a skill to regerate his limb.
[Error!]
He tried creating a healing skill.
[Error!]
He tried creating a skill that creates healing potions, just like the previous system.
[Error!]
"Please."
[Error!]
"Save me."
[Error!]
"Why!?"
[Error!]
Why?
It felt as if the system had deemed it taboo to heal him.
In the past, whever he leveled up, the first skill on his mind was a healing skill.
But as always.
[Error!]
"Give me a fucking reason!"
[Error!]
"Haaa–Khh...!"
Brandon gritted his teeth and clutched his shoulder. The ice served to stop the bleeding, but there was nothing to alleviate the pain.
It fucking hurt.
A lot.
He felt his stomach churn as cold sweat continued trickling down his cheek.
His world spun and breathing became labored.
"Haaa.... Haaa..."
Pain.
Too much pain.
Everything.
Pain.
"Pain."
Life was too painful.
Every day.
"Every... single..."
Fucking.
Day.
As if the world wanted him to suffer.
He gazed down and looked at his arm. A chill ran down his spine and his ears started ringing.
Thump!
His knees gave out and he slumped down on the g.
"Mmh..."
"Huaaa!"
Carl's eyes wided and covered his mouth in shock, seeing the state Brandon was in.
The same wt for Aurelia as her eyes shot wide op.
Cr... Crack!
A magic circle suddly materialized on the g and a medium—sized crystal golem appeared.
Not just one.
But two.
Another magic circle.
And another.
Three.
Crack!
Three medium–sized ice golems rushed towards Lumian.
"The fuck?"
Amelia could hear Lumian curse as he continued parrying each attack.
But what caught Amelia's atttion was the fact that Lumian wasn't looking at the attacks at all.
No.
His eyes were glued to the oncoming golems.
Another magic circle appeared.
And another.
Crack!
More crystal golems appeared and rushed towards Lumian, completely circling him.
Clap—!
Aurelia clapped her hands together, and golems suddly expanded in size. Their figures towered over Lumian and Amelia's eyes shot wide op.
"Let's go."
Aurelia's voice reached her ears and Amelia turned her head towards Brandon who was most definitely out of it.
"...."
Amelia neared him and pulled his shoulder. But Brandon wouldn't budge.
"Brandon!"
"Haaa...."
Amelia flicked her head towards the arm on the g.
With gritted teeth, Amelia grabbed the arm and lifted Brandon's chin.
She raised the arm on her hand and showed it to Brandon.
"Do you see this?"
"...."
"It can still be reattached. So please, let's get away from here."
"...."
Brandon didn't respond. But it seemed like her words managed to reach him as he lifted his body up.
Amelia nodded her head and waited for Brandon to start running.
As soon as he did, Amelia followed.
Vooosh—!
Running with no direction on where they were supposed to go, Amelia could hear flames ignite behind her, a few distances away.
"....!"
Her alarm bells rang and Amelia turned her head slightly. But it was th wh Lumian's figure registered in her peripheral vision.
He was fast.
Too fast.
There, she could see him already close, running towards them as his expressions cracked.
"You're not getting away!"
Lumian screamed and Amelia panicked.
There was no way to shake off this man.
But regardless, Amelia could only do what she could.
Magic swords floated a her and headed towards Lumian.
Clang—!
Lumian immediately parried a blade and dodged the others.
But due to Amelia's attack, she was able to stall for an ounce of a momt as Lumian was halted in his chase.
Just a single second.
She continued employing the same strategy. It seemed to be working as they were several distances away from Lumian now.
Amelia fixed her atttion back to Carl—who was carrying Aurelia. Wind seemed to coalesce a his leg and boosted his speed.
But it wasn't him that surprised her.
It was Aurelia.
But in that fraction of a second she had stopped her attack.
Swoosh—!
Lumian appeared right behind her.
