Each noble family had its own room with a balcony from which they could see the main stage, while the others sat in the main hall. Far from the Redfall Family room, there was the Lareso Family room, where Lucia could see Zayne.
Lucia waved at Zayne with a slight smile on her face, trying to get his attention, but he didn't notice her at all. Zayne stared at the scene with a deep gaze, as if he were completely immersed in his own thoughts.
"Ah... Zayne is like always... He's a different person during the fight, though I like that. The more varied the better." Lucia muttered with a sly smile as she opened the blue fan, hiding part of her face.
"Sister..." Dan turned to Lucia, "I heard you kissed him..."
"Yeah, me too." Jan nodded his head.
"Hmm? Boys, I understand that due to your age, you are interested in such topics, but isn't my personal life my business?" Lucia said calmly, but her menacing look made the brothers flinch.
"That's not what I meant... I mean, if you want to start an affair with him, that might be a bad idea." Dan scratched the back of his head.
Crackle.
The glass in Lucia's hand shattered from her powerful grip as wine spilled down her arm while her face twisted in anger.
The maid immediately ran up, quickly cleaning up the mess.
"Mistress, you are wounded! I must bandage you immediately!" The girl anxiously exclaimed.
"Shut up!" Lucia shouted, giving the maid goosebumps, "I'll figure out what I have to do myself, and that goes for all of you!" Lucia stared at Dan, "Even if you are my brother, I wouldn't advise you to tell me who I should have a romance with."
Dan answered nothing, he just turned away, afraid to say anything else lest the full anger of his sister fall upon him.
"Sister... I think Dan meant that Zayne is not a nobleman. If you two are together, it could be bad for our family's reputation." Jan muttered as he gulped.
Whoooooooooooosh.
Lucia abruptly extended her arm as the sharp edge of the metal fan ended up at Jan's neck. Jan flinched, but he didn't dare move.
"Yeah, Zayne is definitely not a nobleman, but so what...? Do you really think I care about something like that? Status is worth less than my feelings, and if we're talking about these things... Do you think the title of Hero who defeated the Apostle is worth less than a nobleman?"
Jan raised his hands silently as if acknowledging his defeat.
Lucia gathered the fan, looked at the empty glass, and said, "Pour me some wine. I'm going to enjoy the auction, and I hope no one else will interrupt me."
The maid immediately complied with her order.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it's been some time since the auction began, so I think it's the moment to raise the bids." The auctioneer exclaimed with an excited expression as he waved his cane, pointing to the audience.
At the same moment, two girls in unusual eastern outfits unveiled the next lot. On the stand, there was a massive sword that looked more like a cleaver with a bare metal hilt.
All eyes were immediately focused on this unusual weapon.
"This is the work of the famous Lax River Region blacksmith, Dark Blood! The whole cleaver is made of a monolithic piece of black iron, so this weapon is perfect for those who like to strike with all their might!" The auctioneer exclaimed, "The opening bid is 350 Gold Coins! A minimum step is 50 Gold Coins!"
Immediately several people expressed their desire to buy the Dark Blood, and the price jumped to 500 Gold Coins, gradually continuing to rise.
"What do you say? Would you like to purchase a new sword for yourself?" Alden glanced at Zayne with a slight smile.
"Hah, a sword? It looks more like some kind of axe. I doubt I'd be comfortable fighting with a weapon bigger than myself. However, for someone like Geir, it might work." Zayne gave his assessment.
Alden nodded, "By the way, I heard there will be a sword of some sort. I can't say it's the best we'll see, but maybe it'll suit you."
"Damn... Now I'll have to wait, and my patience will keep getting smaller." Zayne smiled bitterly.
Alden shrugged, "Sorry, I couldn't help myself."
The auctioneer presented one lot after another, seemingly having no intention of stopping. Most were taken by nobles, which was pretty obvious, but sometimes, extra expensive lots were bought by people in the hall. In a big city, everyone could have had money.
"Oh, that's interesting." Alden muttered, looking at the shimmering potions in the auctioneer's hands, "Well, looks like it's time for the first bid."
Alden raised a special sign and calmly said, "Three Platinum Coins."
Everyone immediately turned in his direction. He had been completely silent before, unlike other noble families, and this was the first time he had made his move.
The original price was 1000 Gold Coins and quickly reached 1500, so Alden was literally willing to give double that.
"Sold!" The auctioneer exclaimed after a while. In fact, many people wanted to compete for this potion, but no one was going to match the Redfall Family and ruin their relationship with them.
Two slots later, the potion was brought into the room. Alden took it in his hands, turning and examining the vial from different angles, then he handed the potion to Kyla.
"Brother..." Kyla was puzzled, she didn't seem to expect Alden to give her such a gift at all.
"It's all right. You're about to go through your fourth purification, aren't you? This potion will help you get more results." Alden said calmly with a slight wave of his hand.
Kyla smiled happily and silently accepted the potion, though her brother's care was most important to her then.
"Agh... How long do I have to wait...?" Zayne muttered with a bored look.
"Heh, I only mentioned this sword to pique your interest, you don't have to skip all the other lots." Alden turned to Zayne.
Zayne shook his head, "I don't want to spend money on something I don't need. I can fight without the potion, but not without the sword. For me, it's very simple."
Alden sighed and went back to watching. Logically he understood what Zayne was talking about, but because he didn't know about Zayne's situation, this position was strange to him.
'Hmm... I still can't understand something about Zayne... He's definitely talented in combat, but what about the rest? He seems to have a lot of problems that hang over him like chains... It's not good, one day it might lead to disaster...' Alden pondered, occasionally glancing at Zayne with a deep gaze.
Alden was famous for being very good at reading people and knowing what to expect from them, however, Zayne was still a mystery to him.
The next lot was hidden beneath the cloth, but it was obvious that something tall was there. Zayne's eyes went wide as he hoped he had finally awaited his sword.
"The next slot will be of interest to the smartest and wisest among us. This weapon is perfect for those who are ready to learn new heights!" The auctioneer exclaimed in pathos, tearing off the cloth.
At the same moment, the entire hall was covered in bright purple light from the long staff that seemed to belong to the great mage.
'Fuck...' Zayne lowered his head.
