A large group had gathered in one of the mansions in Redfeather City. They were all dressed in expensive clothes, holding glasses and smiling happily as they discussed something.
"Hehehe, it went just as we planned!" A man with long hair and green eyes exclaimed, raising his glass high.
"Edward, I didn't expect we could make it this easy, but I'm actually glad I joined you!" The man with the black hair and hazel eyes said, grinning broadly.
Edward took a sip of wine and looked out the window overlooking the distant hills, "Reik, my friend, soon your Palanie Family and my Goren Family, will be a major force in the whole town. All we have to do is wait for the Oracles to arrive for inspection."
Reik frowned slightly as his face grew darker.
"Is something wrong?" Edward gave him a questioning look.
Reik shook his head, "I mean, Alden probably wouldn't leave it that easy, right? He's done a lot to get Zayne associated with Redfall and the Lareso Family in the eyes of ordinary people, hasn't he? It would be a big blow to him."
Edward smirked, walked over to Reik, and threw an arm around his shoulder, "Hehehe, that's exactly the point. Not only will I avenge my son, but we'll have a chance to take the lead in this town."
Edward shook his glass slightly as he looked at the wine-covered walls, "How can people trust the Noble Family that brought Traveler connected to Chaos? When we deal with them, we'll run some kind of propaganda against Zayne, and gradually he'll stop being a hero, instead, he'll become a liar."
Edward's corners of his mouth went up, forming a sly smirk, which oddly enough calmed Reik down. Of these four families, the Palanie Family was the least influential, so Reik's success depended more on Edward's actions.
"However... Something bothers me... Why did your Oracle say he wouldn't contact Oracle Academy until tonight? Can't it be done right now?" Reik asked with a worried expression, "If we're going to take a risk, we should act as quickly as possible, shouldn't we?"
Edward thought for a while, until he shrugged, "Whatever, he was ready to do it right away, but then he said he needed time... something must have happened... Anyway, we got him to break the law, so he's already done more than he should. All we have to do is just wait. Even if Zayne escapes, the Oracles will find him, that's no problem. His path is already finished."
Reik breathed a sigh of relief. This wasn't the first time he'd been involved in games like this, after all, he was head of one of the Noble Families, but accusing the chosen one of the Fate of using Chaos Energy was the riskiest thing he'd ever done.
...
Palanie and Goren Family, while a dark silhouette headed toward their manor.
Whoooooooosh.
The silhouette jumped over the wall, which was impossible for an ordinary person because of its height, and ended up on the garden grounds.
There were two guards standing in front of the main entrance, chatting nonchalantly, since there had been no intruders for some time. However, as soon as the silhouette came closer they flinched and drew their swords.
"Freeze!"
"Who are you?!"
From beneath the dark hood, the silhouette's blue eyes appeared, then, his palms thrust into their throats, making them gasp. The silhouette stepped forward and attacked once more, into the back of their necks, plunging the guards into a long sleep as their eyes went blank.
'I didn't think I could do it, though Enar did it much faster, against regular guards, it was more than enough.' Zayne muttered inwardly, his footsteps echoing through the stone passage.
Zayne wore a long, dark cloak that completely hid his entire body, as well as the yellow stone hanging from his belt.
Crackling.
Zayne pressed his palms against the massive doors and pushed them open with a creak, stepping into the banquet hall.
Dozens of people turned around with shocked faces watching the silhouette. After a silhouette uprising and a rough night, everyone was resting, so no one expected someone to invade Goren Family Manor.
"Stop!" The guards at the door exclaimed and pointed their swords at Zayne.
Zayne glanced at them, grabbed their heads sharply, and slammed them against each other, causing them to pass out from the powerful impact.
Edward frowned as the glass in his hand cracked. He stepped forward confidently and said, "I don't know who you are, but you better get on your knees and start begging for forgiveness. You dare injure my people when our city just survived a massive attack!"
"Oh, really? As far as I know, the nobles didn't fight, it was the Knights and Mages who risked their lives instead of you." Zayne said coldly, then he threw off his hood, revealing his face to everyone.
Edward and Reik shuddered.
"What...? How did you get out of the cell...?! No one should have had that opportunity! Not even Alden! It was decided at the general meeting!" Edward exclaimed with a wave of his hand. He could not believe what he saw before him.
Zayne remained silent until he said, "Well, besides Noble Families, there is someone else influential in this town right now. One Mage has taken it upon himself to use brute force to free me so that I can restore justice."
Though Zayne didn't give a name, everyone knew he was talking about Solomon.
'Fuck! Did he really have to get involved in this? I mean, he's a Traveler! Agh! Maybe I should have waited until Solomon would have left town...?' Edward inwardly shook his head, 'No... In that case, it would have been too late to report anything...'
"Well... Do you realize what you're doing? You've invaded the territory of the Goren Family and attacked their guards." Reik said seriously, staring intently at Zayne, "Even if you're a hero of this town, that doesn't mean you can't be a criminal, especially given your connection to Chaos."
Zayne exhaled cold steam, looked around, and stepped forward.
"Maybe... But I didn't attack you, I came for revenge. You wanted to kill me, so it's my time to do the same, isn't it?" Zayne said calmly as his icy gaze fell on Edward.
