Chapter 364 A Blow Against The Divine
Hel was terribly surprised to see the all father appear in front of her and riding atop his famed horse Sleipnir.
Not only did they not have the kind of relationship where he would run to save her, but as of right now he was actually risking his own life to do so.
There is a substance in the miasma of the underworlds that makes them largely uninhabitable by any other than death gods or demonic beings.
Even gods are not immune to the corrosive effects of the underworld's atmosphere, and cannot stay here for long without suffering adverse effects to their health.
The effects were so potent that even a god as powerful as Odin could only stay here for a maximum of ten minutes before he inevitably bit the dust. n/(O./v--e()l--b-(1.)n
"You've actually come here... is it sentimentality or stupidity..?" Hel said with a dry laugh.
"Necessity." Odin responded without looking back. "I heard the arrival of this creature all the way in Asgard and had Heimdall monitor your battle. Were things not so dire, I would not have come."
Hel clicked her teeth in annoyance and frustration as Odin summoned his weapon to his free hand.
In the blink of an eye, a one of a kind golden spear appeared within his hand and gave off an overwhelming sense of danger.
This was Orin's famed weapon; Gungnir.
In terms of power it was only a step below the six endings, as it's ability to always hit its target regardless of how it was thrown made it a weapon that stood above most in mythology.
It was no wonder that Odin had risen to the top the Norse gods when he carried something like this into battle.
All he needed was one attack to end any battle, which was why he didn't hesitate to jump into Helheim to confront Abaddon despite the danger.
After all, he could end this quick.
"Be gone, foul beast! Ha!!"
Odin hurled the golden spear in his hand and it sailed with the speed of a shooting comet towards Abaddon's chest.
As it traveled, the weapon grew to an astronomical height and that could have pierced the dragon all the way through it's body.
Several walls of ice, shadow, and earth rose up to protect the spirit dragon from harm, but it appeared as though their efforts were meaningless.
Gungnir passed through every obstacle without losing speed or momentum, and continued on it's path towards Abaddon.
Just as the weapon emerged within striking distance, there was a loud sound like metal striking metal as the weapon came to a dead stop.
CLANG!
"What..?"
"When did she...?"
A woman that neither Hel nor Odin recognized appeared directly in front of the spear and stopped it with her outstretched hand.
She had deathly pale skin, and long white hair that went down to her plump thighs.
She wore a pair of black leggings and a simple white long sleeve crop top that exposed her shredded abdomen that looked sharp enough to grate cheese.
Her red eyes were unfathomably cold as she stared down at the two of them, leaving both completely mesmerized by her beauty.
Without a doubt, she was the most gorgeous woman that either of them had ever seen.
"Seras... what are you doing?" Abaddon asked in a monstrous voice.
"Ack!"
Seras melted as she shyly looked over her shoulder and gave her husband a wry smile.
"W-Well he interfered first, so I should be allowed to step in too, r-right?? I'm totally in the right here, darling!"
In the blink of an eye, a second woman appeared beside her and stared up at Abaddon with equally big doe eyes.
"Hey, does this mean we get to fight now?? T-That old bastard has nothing to do with your condition after all!"
Abaddon smiled wryly in his monstrous form.
Really, his wives were too cute.
"Seras does, but you're still sitting out Audrina. You're carrying our son now."
"Yes!"
"No!"
Seras excitedly pulled Gungnir into her grasp and watched it shrink back into the size of a normal spear.
"Sorry sister, but it really is for the best!" She said happily.
"Fuck you guys!"
"We love you too!"
"That's not what I said!"
"But it is what you meant!" Seras gave Audrina a small kiss on the cheek before she floated onto the ground.
Her smile became wider and more wicked as her bare feet finally touched the black soil of the underworld.
Hel and Odin had yet to be shaken from their stupor and were still staring at the approaching goddess like she was a walking anomaly.
"How can you hold my spear...? It is bound only to me..!" Odin said through clenched teeth.
Seras smiled wickedly as she stared at the weapon in her grasp like it was a mere toothpick.
"This...? I am a war goddess, old man. There is no weapon that is not fit for my hands and none that I cannot make submit to me."
"Blasphemy! We cannot do anything like that!" Odin said in a voice filled with rage.
Though war gods could typically use whatever weapon they wanted without any difficulty, there were limits to that.
For example, if Ares were to try to use Zeus' lightning bolt without his permission, he would end up frying himself instead of any other enemies.
Weapons linked to one's soul are linked only to one user, and that was the way that things had always been.
No one had ever been able to break that constant.
"Oh? Might you be a war deity as well? That will make things even more wonderful~!"
Right before Odin and Hel's eyes, a dark red aura began to leak from Seras' body.
The golden spear within her grasp was dyed a metallic red, and started to give off a bloodthirsty and unholy feeling.
"I was already wondering how I should punish you for interfering in my husband's conflict, and now I know the perfect way~!"
Seras stabbed her newly rechristened Gungnir into the ground and the entire realm of Helheim began to tremble.
The soil, waters, and sky were all dyed an intense blood red color, and weapons of every variety started to rain down onto the surface around her.
"I will make you know true inferiority and imbue hopelessness into your very bones! I will show you that even between us deities of war, there are unshakable differences between us. Are you not honored?"
Hel and Odin made serious faces as they braced themselves for an inevitable collision.
"We will take her together." Hel said as she caught a sickle out of midair.
Odin nodded solemnly as he stepped down from his eight legged horse and plucked another spear from the ground.
"...Indeed, we must make this qui-"
"Sorry, but no!" Seras interrupted. "Just as I will not have battles stolen from me, I will not steal any from him."
Hel finally remembered the dragon whom she was fighting with before this woman had shown up.
She looked up into the sky just in time to see Abaddon flying at her in his normal appearance with dark scales along his face and arms.
With the force of a collapsing star, Abaddon punched Hel in the stomach and sent her flying with her body flailing about limply.
With one blow, practically every bone within her torso had been crushed into splinters.
BOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!
"Hel!" Odin roared.
"Focus!"
Seras flew in like a bullet and kicked Odin in his side hard enough to make his bones rattle.
The god shook off any pain from her assault as he tried to assess his options.
He couldn't stay here to fight with one of the fabled demon goddesses; not when this environment was already beginning to have an effect on his overall well being.
If he and Hel had gotten to work together, he had no doubt that they could have dispatched her relatively quickly, but now that they were forced into one on one confrontations things were significantly more dire.
It was time to leave.
Seras rushed at Odin with her signature frenzied smile and attacked him with her brand new spear.
"Do not die early, old man! I have been waiting for a chance to use my new powers for weeks!"
"It is a pity, but I will not be the one you use them on!" Odin fired back.
Right before Seras' eyes, Odin's body started to glow as it was enveloped in a column of light.
As he floated upwards, she realized exactly what he was trying to do and she didn't like it.
Her smile immediately became ugly and frightening as she twisted her face up into a hateful expression.
"Husband! My prey is trying to escape!"
Abaddon glanced over his shoulder and saw the all father floating higher and higher as he tried to flee this domain.
Using Vovin's war cry, he let out a horrible roar that was different from normal.
The glow encompassing Odin's ancient figure started to darken, and soon he was being dropped out of the sky.
"What?!"
"There you go, love."
"Thank you, darling!"
Before Odin could hit the ground, Seras caught him with a knee to the jaw that cracked all of his teeth on the bottom row.
His head was thrown back from the sheer power contained in the blow, and Seras took that opportunity to stab him in several different places at once with her spear.
His arms, legs, and even spots on his torso were filled with more holes than the plot of a bad movie, and Odin felt blood beginning to rise up to his esophagus.
Odin fell onto one knee as he looked at his terrible wounds.
Not only were they not healing, they had already begun to turn black from the uninhibited exposure to Helheim's corrosive atmosphere.
If he had a full ten minutes before, now he was down to only five.
He was among the most powerful of gods, yet he has been reduced to such a deplorable state as this within moments!
Here, he couldn't even begin to bring out his full power or even put up a half decent fight!
It was embarrassing!
He had no reason to doubt that if this ever got out he would be the laughingstock of the heavens!
Seras noticed that Odin's life force was dropping dramatically fast and his wounds weren't healing, and her formerly joyous mood started to become even worse.
"You bastard! How dare you die on me with only this?! Do you know how endlessly I have trained for this moment?! How much this conflict means to my family and I?!"
"...You're insane..." Odin coughed.
"Exactly!"
Seras kicked Odin hard in the chest and sent him tumbling onto his back.
Placing her foot on top of his chest, she pointed her spear directly between the eyes.
"I demand that you entertain me more before you die. I will not abide by your unreasonable selfishness."
Instead of heeding her demand, Odin used the last of his strength to spit out a gob of blood onto Seras' leg.
Finally, another hateful smile sprang onto her face and she lowered her spear to her side.
"Alright then... if you are so insistent upon dying quickly, I will make your death the most painful one you can imagine."
