Chapter 750: Memory Resurgence

Name:First Demonic Dragon Author:

Abaddon and Ayaana were suddenly under siege as Nyx threw her arms around them both.

Nyx was an eclectic individual. Over the long course of time that the lovers had known her, she had never held on to the same personality for long.

When they first met her, she was a cold, and uncaring individual. Her only interests were in her children and Erebus, and everything else seemed to fail to be deserving of her compassion.

Abaddon and Ayaana liked that about her. She was cut from the same cloth as they were.

As a result, they became fast friends. And the warmth that Nyx hardly ever showed began to extend to them as well.

They'd seen her be snippy, melancholic, seductive, and calculating all over the course of several billions of years.

They were friends, and they already thought

By now, she was more-or-less pretty mellow. With the exception of her fearsome godly status, she was like an ordinary, mildly scary, incredibly beautiful stay-at-home mom.

"This is quite the surprise. I don't recall you ever taking the trip to my realm in all the years we've been acquainted... Don't tell me you've finally come to accept my proposition?" She asked excitedly.

"No, we haven't come to lay with you and your husband."

"Pooh." she pouted.

"Speaking of, where is your brother?" Abaddon raised a brow as he looked around.

Nya's expression soured. "Don't even MENTION that pig to me. As far as I'm concerned, I came into existence by myself and I will return to the void by myself."

Abaddon and Ayaana all but rolled their eyes. ""What happened this time..?""

"He cheated! Again! Can you believe it!?"

""..."" Both Abaddon and Ayaana would have felt bad if they said yes. So they said nothing instead.

Nyx and Erebus fight a lot.

They go through these periods of 'divorce' that last around a thousand years or so until some kind of accidental occurrence results in them talking again and then the whole cycle repeats itself.

In that regard, they aren't very dissimilar to Ares and Aphrodite, the only difference being that their fights are a lot more... explosive.

Do they love each other? Undoubtedly.

They just get sick of each other sometimes.

"I swear, I'm so sick of him! I just need an escape of some sort so I don't feel like my skin is going to crawl out off my body!"

Abaddon and Ayaana looked at each other as if to confirm that they were both thinking the same thing.

"Well... Do you want to come and live with us then?" Ayaana asked.

Nyx suddenly stalled out as if she were trying to make sure she had accurately heard the words that'd just left her mouth.

"You... What exactly has gotten into the two of you? First you're showing up here voluntarily, and now you're inviting me to live with you? Are you dying??"

""No!""

"Much to the dismay of many beneath us.." Bashenga muttered as he scratched Gandora's horn.

Nyx's eyes lit up. "Well hello there, my little nephew. You're looking more grown up since I last saw you."

"Don't patronize me, night mother. Are you going to accept the invitation not our lodgings or not?"

"TARTYYYY!!!"

"Damn it!"

A nude woman wrapped in vines and ivy lunged at Bashenga from across the room.

He jumped on top of the ceiling to avoid her and she crashed into Nyx's statue on total accident.

Gaia got up slowly rubbing her head to ease the pain. "My darling! I've waited so long for you to reincarnate and this is how you treat me?? You're too cruel!"

"I do not recall giving you permission to touch me, woman. Your tendency to forget yourself persists no matter the timeline or adaptation."

"You'll hurt my feelings if you keep talking to me like that, darling. You're being so mean I could honestly swear that you didn't even miss me."

"Isn't it funny how often our first assumptions end up being the correct ones?"

"Hmph! Shameless! Hateful man!"

Abaddon and Ayaana kind of watched everything while blinking slowly as if they weren't sure what to do. They were in completely unexplored territory.

Most all of their kids have relationships, but none of them were like this. Were they supposed to step in? Make them play nice? What were the parameters here??

"Why do I have to hear that you've arrived by word of mouth and my father's bellowing? I thought we were close enough that you would have told me you're when you were coming back."

Abaddon and Ayaana froze when they realized they had their own trouble to deal with.

Another modest, yet beautiful olive skinned woman was standing behind them with her arms folded; clearly displeased and hurt.

"H-Hey, Dems.."

"Don't use that silly nickname as if we are close when clearly we are not. How many years has it been since I have heard even a peep from any of you? I thought us closer than this!"

Truthfully, Abaddon and Ayaana did really like Demeter. They were all great friends.

But Demeter had begun to have more than just platonic feelings surrounding their relationship... So Abaddon and Ayaana decided to ween themselves off from her before things became overly complicated.

They thought it was the right thing to do so as not to hurt any feelings. No one wanted to hurt her.

And yet, as they witnessed her now watery eyes and clear displeasure, they realized that they may have incidentally done that anyway.

Out of the corner of her eye, Demeter noticed the bag that Nyx was carrying and the odd way she was dressed.

"...Are you traveling, Lady Nyx?"

By now, Nyx was really wishing she had blocked off all perception of herself before this conversation began.

She wasn't sure why the mood was so weird between these three, but she was honestly afraid to exacerbate the situation and make it worse.

"I... was in need of a change of pace. I decided to follow these scaly little morsels around for a bit while I enjoyed being a single woman."

"You and Lord Erebus have split again?"

"What do you mean, again?!"

"Nothing, Lady Nyx..."

Abaddon thought that Demeter was maybe going to tell him off again before storming off with tears in her eyes. It wouldn't have been uncharacteristic of her.

But much to his surprise, her reaction was a fair bit different than what he believed would happen.

"I see... it just so happens that I do not have anything to do either. I believe that I will accompany you all for the time being. It should give us a chance to talk, no?"
