Gu Kai shook his head, a trace of disappointment flashed in MO Yu’s eyes, and he said in a slightly heavy tone, “She is not.”
MO Xiuchen furrowed his brows slightly and said in a soft tone, “We haven’t found any evidence that she isn’t yet. I’ve investigated; all the evidence indicates that she might be that little girl from years ago.”
Gu Kai saw the emotion in his eyes. Cheng Jia was the little girl who saved him back then, but MO Xiuchen wasn’t happy. He hesitated for a moment and softly asked, “So, how do you plan to deal with her? Allow me to remind you, Cheng Jia may have ulterior motives for you.”
Even though Gu Kai wasn’t interested in women, and only had an affinity for surgery, he was still very accurate when it came to interpreting women. He saw adoration in Cheng Jia’s eyes when she looked at MO Xiuchen. Moreover, even her seemingly innocent invitation for Wen Ran to accompany her to the restroom seemed suspicious.
As for MO Xiuchen’s feelings towards Wen Ran, he detected a hint of interest and captivation.
MO Xiuchen became silent for a long while, then eventually said languidly,
“Let’s keep her close for now.”
Something that seemed too perfect was often fake.
Over the years, quite a number of people knew that he was searching for that little girl. But it was more than a coincidence that Cheng Jia happened to be working for a hotel under the MS Group and had moved from H City to G City… MO Xiuchen furrowed his brows slightly and said in a soft tone, “We haven’t found any evidence that she isn’t yet. Restroom
When Wen Ran emerged from one of the stalls, Cheng Jia was standing in front of the mirror. She had already washed her hands. Without turning around, she looked at Wen Ran through the mirror and nonchalantly asked, “Miss Wen, I heard that before you got married to Young Master MO, you were dating the Second Young Master of the MO family. Is that true?”
Wen Ran gave Cheng Jia a nonchalant glance, washed her hands, and counter-questioned, “Miss Cheng, did you invite me to the restroom just for this?”
Being counter-questioned by Wen Ran seemed to catch Cheng Jia by surprise, her face momentarily flashing awkwardness but quickly composed herself and faked a smile, “Of course not, I was just curious. If Miss Wen doesn’t want to talk about it, just pretend I never mentioned it.’
At this point, Cheng Jia’s smile disappeared, replaced by a sorrowful look. She changed the topic and said, “If it weren’t for Young Master MO being harmed by bad people back then, he wouldn’t have a problem in that area. It’s a pity, I was too young. I don’t remember anything from that time.”
Noticing a pause in Wen Ran’s hand washing, Cheng Jia’s eyes flashed a sense of accomplishment; her tone becoming even more mournful, “When I was six, I became ill and forgot everything that happened before that. If Young Master
MO hadn’t found me, I wouldn’t have known that I saved him when I was five.”
Wen Ran looked at Cheng Jia with a hint of surprise. So, she saved MO Xiuchen when she was five? And fell ill when she was six, forgetting everything that happened before she fell ill?
The latter part of her story was quite similar to her own experience. She too had fallen ill when she was six and lost all memory of everything that happened before.
However, this explained why an employee of a hotel from MS Group was dining with MO Xiuchen.
Seeing Wen Ran’s gaze sweep over her clothes and jewelry, Cheng Jia immediately said, “Every bit of my outfit, Young Master MO bought for me during his business trip, even this necklace was a gift from him. Miss Wen, your necklace is beautiful, was it a gift from Young Master MO as well?”
Cheng Jia turned around, touched the necklace around her neck, and looked at Wen Ran with a face full of admiration. There was no trace of intentional boasting or jealousy; even though her necklace was beautiful, it wasn’t as valuable and magnificent as Wen Ran’s necklace.
As Wen Ran looked at Cheng Jia standing before her, for some reason, the phase “phony b*tch” commonly used by Bai Xiaoxiao popped into her mind.
Men might not be able to tell the difference between good women and bad women. However, women can certainly tell the difference between a green tea b*tch and a phony b*tch.
It’s a woman’s instinct, just like Wen Ran, she had just met Cheng Jia for the first time; their interaction was brief and had only exchanged a few words, but she was certain, Cheng Jia harbored some intentions for MO Xiuchen.
It wasn’t that Wen Ran was annoyed or jealous. She didn’t harbor any feelings towards MO Xiuchen, even if Cheng Jia and MO Xiuchen were mutually attracted to each other, she wouldn’t be jealous, and if MO Xiuchen were to ask for a divorce, maybe she would even consent to it.
