Chapter 53: Advice from an Experienced Person

After a few days inside the infirmary, Shye fully recovered and he was finally allowed to attend classes again.

He was released yesterday so after one more day of rest, Shye decided to attend his class today which happened to be Instructor Fienna's class.

On the way towards his classroom, Shye couldn't help but feel nervous. He didn't know what his classmates would think of him after killing Theoden, Leonardo, and Eusford.

After a few more minutes of walking, he finally arrived in front of his classroom.

He then entered with a slightly nervous expression on his face but what he didn't expect was, after he entered, his classmates came swarming towards him.

Some of them hugged him, some spoke words of gratitude, while some asked about his condition. Finnd new chapters at novelhall.com

Shirley didn't think about anything and simply hugged Shye tightly. She was also horrified after finding out that he faced an ember tiger alone and was sent to the infirmary in a very bad state.

Shye's classmates also weren't in the mood to tease him because they were worried about his condition.

In their minds, Shye was their benefactor. Not only was he always protecting them, he was also the one who bestowed them skills and a high class budget.

In addition to this, they found out from their classmates that Shye protected them from the ember tiger and that's why he was in that current state.

Shye was stupefied, he didn't expect such a warm reaction from his classmates. He thought that they would look at him in fear and disgust after finding out that he killed three people.

However, it seems that no one knew about it so he anxiously waited until the end of the class before asking Instructor Fienna about what happened to him.

"Oh, so you don't remember anything huh? That's understandable though since you were in a very bad condition when Siegfried brought you to me."

Shye didn't show it on his face but his heart was beating fast as he pondered whether he should tell Instructor Fienna that he killed Theoden, Eusford, and Leonardo.

"Oh...I see, so Siegfried was the one who carried me huh? Thank you, instructor, I will go to Siegfried's classroom and thank him."

"Alright, that's good to hear."

Shye knew that this would be the perfect place to talk about that matter so he brought Siegfried here.

The two of them faced each other and Siegfried was the first one to speak.

"You want to ask about what I saw that day right?"

Shye nodded nervously as he waited for Siegfried's next words.

Siegfried was intrigued after realizing that Shye looked very nervous so he purposely delayed his next words.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, Siegfried finally spoke.

"Hahahaha! I could determine at a single glance that those three tried to assassinate you but they simply failed because they were weaker so why are you so nervous?"

"Even if the school found out about what happened, they would side with you so you should stop feeling guilty about killing them. You only did it to protect yourself right? It wasn't like you wanted to kill them anyway so just chill."

"Fortunately for you, I was the one who arrived. I decided to help you clean up a bit but after seeing so many apex predators eyeing their corpses, I knew that I didn't have to do anything."

"You could probably guess what happened to their bodies. Currently, the academy thinks that they were ambushed by a large group of apex predators so there's no need for you to worry."

Shye was in utter shock and disbelief after hearing everything that Siegfried said. He couldn't believe that the straightforward Siegfried helped him cover up the dark truth.

After gathering his wits, Shye couldn't help but ask Siegfried.

"Y-You seem to be quite experienced...H-Have you killed people before?"

In response, Siegfried simply smiled and said

"What do you think?"

Siegfried's response basically confirmed that he had killed people before and because of it, Shye felt that a few thorns were removed from his chest.

However, there was still a slight feeling of guilt so Siegfried told him that he should just give himself some time and the feeling would gradually disappear from his heart.
