Shye's life as a sophomore passed by very quickly.
There weren't a lot of notable events during his second year at Colzen Academy since all he did was mainly train his stamina, upgrade his other attributes through the system, grind academy and system points, go adventuring with Shirley once in a while, spar with his little sister, and have duels against Siegfried or other challengers from time to time.
Needless to say, he won all his duels and although he was surprised that Siegfried could still put up a fight against him, in the end, he was always the winner.
Naturally, he was also able to help his society, the Order of the Black Sword, grab the number one spot for the first time in the history of the society during this past year.
After a training-focused year, the last day of his sophomore student life finally came.
However, he still chose to not attend the premium class today since he knew that the topic wasn't of any benefit to him and instead, he decided to complete a few quests.
In addition to this, he refused the companion student slot in this year's Adventurer Academy competition because he felt that two and a half months of traveling wouldn't benefit him at all so instead, he chose to just stay in Colzen City and continuously train.
Of course, he watched the competition from the holographic television every time it was Colzen Academy's turn to fight.
Unfortunately, as expected, Colzen Academy lost to Orion Academy in the third round of the matches and only achieved a top 128 finish.
In addition to this, the chosen substitute representative, Kiin Wujin, one of Shye's future teammates in the Adventurer Academy competition, was unsatisfied because he didn't get to fight a single battle at all.
Due to this, Shye and his other future teammates decided not to attend next year's Adventurer Academy competition because they felt that focusing on training would be much more beneficial than going to Valenzia City to watch.
During the past year, although Shye didn't experience anything big, the year was very eventful for his girlfriend, Shirley, who blasted through the ranks during the past three months which garnered everyone's attention.
With occasional invitations from Shye for adventures, along with the provision of elixirs and, at times, skill books, Shirley's strength experienced significant growth.
Her last official duel a month ago was against 4th-ranked sophomore warrior student, Noah Holler, where she came out on top after a very intense fight.
Everyone was shocked because Shirley kept on challenging higher-ranked warrior students every month until she officially became the 4th-ranked warrior student.
However, everyone knew that Shye was helping her and some people talked behind her back out of jealousy, but most of the students understood that if she didn't work hard, even if Shye helped her, then it wouldn't mean anything.
That's why only the narrow-minded students talked behind her back while the others acknowledged that she worked as hard as a mule to get to where she was right now.
Currently, Shye is on his way back to the academy after another successful day inside the intermediate adventurer zone.
He had already explored even the deeper parts of the zone and although some of the most dangerous creatures inside the zone still gave him trouble, it was only a matter of time before he needed to consult Dean Snowcrest on where he should train next.
After seeing his massive improvements within the year, Shye nodded in satisfaction. Although he had no system points left, he was as happy as a clam.
He couldn't help but wonder what would happen if he were put into the same situation one year ago when he had to protect his senior, Shin Fernandez, from Acro, the warrior representative from Shadowglade Academy.
Shye believed that he could now fight neck-and-neck against the Acro from one year ago and to achieve that during the end of his second year was proof of his terrifying growth rate.
If Dean Snowcrest knew how strong he was right now, he would be jumping up and down in happiness like a child.
Finally, after walking for a few more minutes, he arrived in front of his dormitory where he swiped his identification card and unlocked the door only to find his little sister, Maia, in the middle of an intense training session in the wide living room.
After seeing how hard his little sister was working, Shye smiled satisfactorily.
At this rate, Maia might have a chance to grab the number one scout course spot!
"Oh? Big Brother, you're finally back! You've been inside the intermediate adventurer zone for a week and I was starting to get a bit worried you know!"
Maia said with a slight frown on her face and puffed cheeks after realizing that Shye was back.
"Sorry, I had a bit of trouble tracking and killing the Drasper Barracuda. I had to get in and out of the Drasper Lake multiple times before I managed to kill it." Shye explained
"Haaah...At least you're back, that's what matters..." Maia responded with a sigh
"Yeah...Well, enough about me, how's your training during the past week? Do you think you're ready for the Colzen Academy Entrance Exam?"
Maia's smile reappeared on her face upon hearing her older brother's question.
"Of course! I believe that I would be able to get a high ranking even if the entrance exam happens today, so two weeks from now, I'll make sure to defeat all of them!"
"Then, I'll finally be a student adventurer and then I can go adventuring inside the beginner adventurer zone!"
Maia said as she looked at Shye with fire burning in her eyes. She looked really fired up and couldn't wait to fight lots of strong guys in the third assessment.
Shye chuckled after seeing how excited Maia was.
"Hahahaha! That's good. I'll be watching so you better do your best in the entrance exam two weeks from now alright?"
"You bet! I'll show everyone my true strength!"
