'Tch!' Shye clicked his tongue in annoyance.
He thought that he already had her but who would've thought that she had another life-saving spell?
Still, Shye wasn't too concerned. Unless this girl could show him an offensive skill that can threaten him, then it would only be a matter of time before he hunts her down.
As if retorting to Shye's inner thoughts, Aella consecutively used three skills, [Fireball Lv.2], [Icicle Spear Lv.2], and [Rock Barrage Lv.2] before finally using one of her strongest skills, [Wind Cutters Lv.3].
Crescent moon-shaped wind cutters appeared from Aella's elemental staff as she started to run in one direction while occasionally jumping to diversify the angles from which the wind cutters were fired.
Sure enough, the wind cutters finally caused some trouble for Shye as he struggled to dodge and block the wind cutters.
Seeing their representative, Aella, pushing back the so-called "ace student" of Colzen Academy, the Redwood Academy group cheered.
Meanwhile, Siegfried and the other top-ranked third-year students who just arrived yawned in boredom as they thought to themselves:
"What are these idiots cheering for? Do they really think that such a basic skill would be enough to defeat Crowley? How naive..."
As for Aella, she was infected by the cheers of the Redwood students.
She then started to believe that she was actually winning so she pointed her staff towards Shye and said:
"Hmmph! Now, Do you see the difference between us? Just surrender and I won't make things too difficult for you!"
Siegfried and the others couldn't help but facepalm after hearing her words. It seems that this crazy woman thinks that she is winning.
Naturally, the Redwood Academy group cheered wildly after hearing Aella's bold words.
Shye however, was starting to get annoyed.
'Will these people die if they don't spout bullshit?' Shye thought to himself as he decisively purchased his first (Rare) skill from the system, [Boost Lv.1]
[Current Boost Limit: 2]
Shye had already been eyeing this skill for the past few months but purchasing a talent was more important and this skill costs 4000 points so he had no choice but to save some points first before he could buy it.
Fortunately, he earned 6400 points from his battle against Roi which allowed him to finally purchase the skill.
The way the skill works is that you can use it to boost your other skills. The higher the level of the [Boost] skill, the higher the limit of its usage was before going on cooldown.
Currently, he could use it consecutively for 2 times before entering a cooldown period.
After successfully defending against Aella's barrage of skills, it was finally his turn again.
'Time to shut these people up.' Shye muttered to himself as a smile appeared on his face.
Meanwhile, Shirley, Maia, Siegfried, and the others who knew Shye understood that he wasn't even using his full power.
Indeed, this mage made him use lots of skills but that was because the mage was fleeing like a prey while Shye hunted her down like a hungry lion.
Heck, she couldn't even force Shye to use his trump card, [Dual Wielding].
However, they all kept quiet as they watched the proceedings with smirks on their faces.
The Adventurer Academy competition was looming closer and none of them were willing to show other academies their trump cards just to win a simple sparring match like this.
Thus, all of them understood why Shye held back.
Still, even if he held back, they saw how he dominated the match while this silly mage student from Redwood Academy lived inside her delusions.
Naturally, Shye proved that their assumptions were correct as he emerged from the blast with a fully charged [Power Slash Lv.3]
'NO!'
*BANG*
Shye's full-powered [Power Slash Lv.3] sent the unconscious Aella flying through the air back to her seat in the designated Redwood Academy area.
Fortunately for her, Shye rotated his sword and used the flat part of the sword to whack her like she was a baseball.
Although a few of her bones were broken, her life wasn't in any danger.
The Colzen Academy crowd once again erupted into cheers after their hero, Shye Crowley, came out on top.
[Congratulations! You've earned 6540 points!]
"A-Aella!!"
This time, Dean Aran couldn't keep his facade anymore as he worriedly rushed towards Aella and checked her condition.
Upon realizing that she was fine, he quickly picked her up, gave her a few greater health potions, and immediately led the Redwood Academy group to the gates of Colzen Academy, seemingly in a hurry to leave.
"Hmmph! Dean Snowcrest, consider yourselves lucky since our strongest third-year student isn't available today. We shall settle this in next year's Adventurer Academy Competition."
Dean Aran said as the Redwood Academy group hurriedly left Colzen Academy like defeated dogs.
'Hmmph! Next year, our academies wouldn't even be on the same level anymore'
Dean Snowcrest inwardly retorted with a smile on his face, pretty happy about the way his favorite student won.
Getting the final win sure felt damn good!
