Chapter 152: Redwood Academy’s Strongest Representative

'Hmmph! You rude little shit! Let's see if you can catch me!' Aella thought to herself as she glared at Ian who was eagerly waiting for the match to start.

She was quite excited about this match-up because scouts were considered a nightmare for mages.

Aella believes that only Shye was a threat in the entire Colzen roster and that such an unknown scout would simply become her stepping stone to greatness.

"Begin!"

Unfortunately for her, although Ian currently had a meager reputation, his skills were the real deal.

Immediately after the referee announced the start of the match, Ian used [Blink Strike Lv.3] to reappear behind Aella.

'Hmmph! Such pitiful tricks won't be ab–?!'

Aella was horrified, she tried activating her repositioning skills but for some reason she...couldn't.

*CRACK*

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"

A nauseating crack followed by a bone-chilling scream reverberated in the vicinity of Intermediate Arena 2 as Ian ruthlessly destroyed Aella's right arm, forcing her to let go of her staff.

He then immediately followed up by destroying all four of her limbs, making Aella go insane from the sheer amount of pain.

"AELLA!!"

The spiky-haired man exclaimed in a worried and distressed tone, almost jumping up the stage to avenge his girlfriend right then and there.

Fortunately, the other representatives worked together and managed to hold him back, otherwise, he would be disqualified for breaking the rules.

As for Aella, her suffering finally ended as she fell into the comforting embrace of oblivion.

Seeing that the representative from Redwood Academy was incapacitated just a few seconds after the match started, the referee snapped out of his stupor and announced Ian's win.

Naturally, the Colzen companion students cheered their lungs out after another decisive victory, slowly forgetting the bitter defeat last year as they got drunk on the feeling of continuous victories.

It was understandable though as their representatives haven't lost a single battle up to now.

"Pfft! This girl...after everything she said about teaching the scout a lesson, she was the one who got taught a lesson!"

"Hahaha...talk about lame..."

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Hoh? He's pretty strong...still weaker than Siegfried though...' Shye pondered as he stared at Gray with slightly narrowed eyes.

"Heh, you seem to be quite famous in your academy. Unfortunately, you're up against me. I'll make you pay for your academy's sins"

Celebrated by his academy as the most talented warrior student in the history of the academy, Gray believed that he could even stand up against the students of the top three academies.

Thus, he didn't believe that the so-called strongest representative of Colzen could hold a candle against him.

He heard that the guy only defeated Aella by a "narrow margin" before and the scout from earlier who defeated Aella easily simply had the skill to counter mages with lots of repositioning skills.

In other words, he wasn't convinced that these representatives from Colzen were as skilled as people say.

Blue lightning snaked around the blades of Gray's falchion as he drew it out of its sheath, making him look like an indomitable lightning god as he gracefully walked closer to Shye, his sword pointed to the ground.

Just from his poise, one would think that no one would be his match in the knockout stages.

Seeing his boyfriend looking extremely cool, Aella, who just woke up, slightly blushed.

Although she couldn't wave her arms around due to her broken bones, she wanted to cheer for Gray, eager to see the downfall of the arrogant bastards from Colzen Academy.

Unfortunately, such intimidation tactics would work on anyone but Shye. He already knew that he was ahead in terms of attributes so why would his enemy's pretentious antics scare him?

'Hmm...Should I test my harrowing aura on this guy? It said that I could select my target...right? There shouldn't be any light creatures around either...'

Shye pondered as he drew his favorite blade, Nightbringer.

This time, purple sparks glittered as a purple lightning snake coiled around the greatsword's blade, looking slightly more intimidating than Gray's falchion.

'Hmmph! Mid-grade enchantment? Colzen was actually willing to invest mid-grade enchantment gemstones in this guy? Hilarious!'

Gray thought to himself as he coldly stared at Shye who naturally didn't shrink back.

Two strongest representatives, both warrior students stood face to face as the crowd waited for the match to start with bated breaths.

"Begin!"

Gray planned to immediately overwhelm Shye right at the start of the match but for some reason, he felt uncomfortable.

A bit fidgety, Gray decided to take things slowly.
